I don’t think it brings something to the meaning of the song... 3. No other effects like that in her work, first time it happens. So I think Jack just had a chorus recorded without the changement of note and instead of recording new vocals he prefered edit it with a tune correction tool and adding a sound on top of it to hide it

Like “ I will never change”..and the then right after saying “I will stay the same” this type of writing doesn’t make a song lyrically rich.
