    I'll be completely honest, I've never really been interested in an electric mountain bike but the lighter these things get and the more they begin to look like regular bikes, the more interested I get. I also like the fact that they provide a more natural pedal feel but still require you to put some work in.

    Thanks for the great videos. After having a front tire blow out on a road bike and breaking my elbow, stopping cycling for 4 years and gaining 40 pounds, I decided to get an e-MTB so I could get decent workouts again and not be doing 5 mph uphill becuase I'm in my 50's, overweight and out of shape. I'm a long time owner of Specialized bikes, so I was eyeing the Turbo Levo. But after going to a dealer and telling them my story and what my intentions are, they suggested I get the Turbo Tero 5.0, a full suspension MTB with smaller shocks and cross country tires, and 2x the battery capacity as the Levo, becuase frankly at my age I am going to be doing green trails, no jumps and I will be spending a lot of time on fire trails and bike paths. I took their advice, got the bike ($4,350) and oh my god. I am in love. This thing rips. I can climb faster with this 59 lb MTB than I could on my carbon road bike when I was in my late 30's and in great shape.

    Full squish Ebikes on vacation is absolutely the way to go. Rented them this spring in Bentonville for myself and my 12yo son. We did 17mi of trails in a morning, with nearly zero fatigue. 💯 fun, and then we were still up for anything the rest of the day. I've decided no Ebike for me....for now. But on vacation, I'm there to have as much fun as possible. So, renting one is absolutely the way to go.

      Makes perfect sense! I am still holding off on getting one as well. I am still capable of riding my regular MTB and enjoy it. Eventually one of these lightweight ones that give a little boost would be cool though. You still get a decent workout in but can ride more and further.

    Video about lightweight without saying the weight. just check it out yourself...

      Yea, probably some important info I should have included! For a few of bikes I was not able to find exact weight. Some of the bikes mentioned are carbon and some are aluminum and the spec on each bike varies which effects weight. They are all considerably lighter than regular emtbs though. I included links to each bike in the description. If you click the link, you may be able to find that exact info fairly quickly.

    Its a nice video, but how light is lightweight ?...... the title seems to be all about the weight, but after watching the video, i still don't actually know the weight of a single bike without using google search myself ?

    • @TysRides
      @TysRides  2 месяца назад

      @UCmumstaxi thanks. I couldn't find exact weight on a few. And some models were carbon and some aluminum, so they all varied, even within the same model. The weights also vary depending on size and spec.

    there is no Pivot Shuttle SL aluminum...only carbon framed

    • @TysRides
      @TysRides  5 месяцев назад

      Ah shit! I messed that up. There site is not very user friendly. You are right. There are 4 models. All carbon. I looked back on the site and I was looking at "wheel material" not frame material. For some reason, my brain processed that wrong. Two models come with Alloy wheels and two come with carbon. I thought $9k seemed pricey for an aluminum frame. My bad! Thanks for pointing that out.

    Don't know if I can spend 15k on a bike in the city to have it ripped in 15 minutes.

      @TysRides  3 месяца назад

      @FunDumb yea that's a great point. I actually keep my expensive bikes in the house and then they typically don't leave my site while I'm out and about. If I stop to eat, I'll make sure I park to where I can see it.
