Oxalis holds a special memory for me. In third grade, our art teacher had a really large one and every year before Mother's Day she would have her third grade class paint a plastic pot for their mom and then she would pull divisions off her plant and we would pot them up for our moms. Now my mom had a brown thumb, so I would take care of it for her, but it sat in her bathroom window for years. It died when I went to college because, you know, my mom had a brown thumb.

I just watched an ad for a beautiful dark green iPhone and... green foliage on the opening shot ... how fitting 😅 the blooms are so precious! In Kenya, I used to eat the leaves of the burgundy one. Tasted very very tangy, like rucola bit without the peppery flavor that rucola has. I did not know that these were grown as houseplants. Too cute 😍

Hi Jeff! I've never had one of these plants, but think they are so cute and pretty. My sister has had a purple one for years. I've never bought one because I didn't realize they would go dormant, but would come back. Now I may have to try one, but not sure if I have a window with enough light to keep them happy. Decisions, decisions. LOL! If I get one, I will watch this video again. Thank you so much for sharing!

I love oxalis- I have the pretty dark purple leaf with a lighter purple center marking, and also the Iron Cross one- green with maroon center markings. The hybrids stay fairly well behaved, but the wild one with rounder plain green leaves makes so many little bulblets, that it spreads a lot. It is pretty though, with pink flowers, but only in a pot or hanging basket! 🌱

I have so many wild ones outside. You made me want to go buy a big one. Have robo to Lowe's to see what they have.

@@TropicalPlantParty I hope your living your dreams as well 🌷💚🙃 It’s not nice out today but it’s not raining so I thought I’d go pull some weeds and clear out an area that was a HUGE mess. The pruner handles bit me on the finger, pinched me, and I looked down and it was bleeding, so I came in to attend to it cuz of course my hands were full of dirt. Deciding if I want to go back out and get beat up some more. That wasn’t a very nice birthday present, now I’ll have to tell the family I can’t cook I broke my finger besides it’s my birthday, your turn to cook. Thank you Jeff for the well wishes🌷💚🙃

@@judymckerrow6720 Happy Birthday ! 🍰 just a note -be careful with small bleeding wounds in the garden. Years ago the American Rose Society always had a banner on their home page reminding gardeners to be up to date with a tetanus shot, because the bacteria can be in the soil. I didn’t know that, now I get a booster about every 10 years. Be well! 🌿🌱🌵

great lil POT plants but take care, especially if you live in a warm client.......beware of them (not sure how hardy) but in New Orleans if their little bulbletts get into the ground they can become extremely invasive, the 'purple' leaf variety is much better behaved but still needs to be monitored

Not me glancing at an 8 inch pot that was originally full of orange oxalis, that is now a single leaf in the center because i forgot it on my radiator. Not one of the plants that tolerate living on a radiator. 😅
