Correction, it works for thermal plastics like abs, pp and such to prolong its usability, but what oils it has lost wont be coming back, you are just moving it from inside to surface. Not saying this wont work, but it wont make it new. Also for some plastics like pvc you dont want to do it and even less inside, as it releases toxic fumes that kills brain cells and inhaling it will feel like worst hangover times two next day and couple days after that.
