If she felt her space was violated or felt like she was being threatened, then she should have continued walking into her office, but her ego made her stop and confront a situation. She could have kept walking 🤷♀️. For once, I actually saw Josh walk away, and once he did that, THEN she put her hands out, and unfortunately, the mayor is excusing that behavior 😢 . The mayor wants to "de-escalate " by bull dozing through the conversation, and denial isn't helping his image. That's too bad. She had every opportunity to walk into the office in a private space but instead she chose to confront the situation and then the attitude after shows her intentions come on mayor that's not gonna get u reelected
With any luck... Whenever the Mayor runs for office again... I hope his opponents in the Mayoral Election race... Can use these incidences of his vile attitude and behavior... As well as the attitudes of these entitled public servants under him... Who'll cuss at members of the public for no reason... As well as this dumb Karen who thinks that it's her right to put her hands on a member of the public like that... The fact that the former cop is copsplaining to Josh and Anna here... In his pathetic attempt to justify her illegal actions speaks volumes... It tells everyone that's watching this incident unfold... That he thinks that public servants don't have to be held accountable for their illegal actions... And that they can act with impunity and disdain towards members of the public... That have done nothing wrong to them... Hopefully that's what the public will remember... Once election time comes around again... And they can finally get rid of all these clowns.👌

I find it disturbing that they are trained about "First Amendment audits and how to respond to them" instead of SIMPLY BE CORDIAL TO THE PUBLIC IF THEY HAPPEN TO HAVE A CAMERA. Not everything is an audit, but the First Amendment protects everyone.

Im a very friendly person and if i reached out and touched someone's shoulder and they got upset guess what i would do? I would immediately apologize and let them know I meant no disrespect and I would definitely let them know moving forward i will absolutely ask permission before i touched them again. Seriously thats all she had to do lol. Its that simple.
Take accountability for your actions. If she had simply said "oh im so sorry sir i was just trying to get your attention however i understand that you don't want to be touched so i sincerely apologize and in the future I will definitely ask permission before i touch you again." I guarantee had she done that and taken accountability they both would have accepted her apology and moved on from it.

The way he kept trying to deflect and then getting mad the conversation is still going pissed me off. Had he actually listened and addressed the situation it would have been over in two minutes with no need to repeat yourself.

You know what they say "you can always tell they are a tyrant if they are chomping on gum lol" and thats exactly what he was. I love you guys. Thank you from an old 68 yr old woman who came from a family of abusive cops. I thought I might be the only person in world who thought something was wrong with the way they treated people. Later (around 12 yes old) I thought they just didn't understand the words of Jesus' words, but as yes went by I realized the double standard lies. Then later the abuse. Thank goodness my parents believed me and kept me away from them. But keeping in touch with them periodicaly , we found out just how horribly abusive they were. My 88 yr old mother protected me from that shit, BUT I saw it happening all around in Oakland CA by OPD.

People need to keep their stinking paws to themselves! I have permanent disability because of a back that is destroyed. Even a friendly pat on the back will put me into severe pain for over a day! When it gets right down to it you were not being aggressive in any way toward the lady in question, you were simply walking past her you did not corner her, therefore she had no business touching you in any way. I do not believe she touched you with any ill intent but that does not matter she should not have touched you in any manner at all. a lot of people seem to touch you and i think you are doing ok not to respond physically but you may want to consider if a male puts his hands on you, perhaps you might slap his hand (not punch or strike or push away) like you would a small child which indicates disapproval rather than some sort of assault. not only does it solidify the incident that it happened (so it can't be denied later) but also it immediately shocks the person letting them know what they have done wrong and they shouldn't do it again.
