Yeah i'm the same mate! Green road does get to you mentally. I've been at Plumstead garage since December and all the old drivers say the same about not worrying about Green road but as a new driver like you and myself it's hard to not worry about it especially with the probation meetings you have throughout the first year. At one point I was #1 out of all the drivers on the 177 route I had a perfect score of 0 and I saw Green Road flash amber I was really annoyed with myself and it put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day. It is honestly virtually impossible like you said to keep a great score especially with the idiot drivers out on the road. Great vid!
I try not to worry about it, now. I was told by an old boy to cover up the lights. The 177 is a long old route. We need to have a chat, drop me and email and I’ll send my number over.
@@_Mikes_Life I've sent you an email Mike👍
Very informative video Mick! Seems like another headache to worry about! I remember Green Rd in Bromley from the suburb runs! 😆😉
I can’t remember coming to Bromley on the knowledge. I must’ve but, the old grey cells are failing.
Give me a call before 10am today or after 19:00
I am a new driver and can contest that green road makes you more aware but it is also distracting as you said not all busses are the same, all depends on the suspension.
I was given a certificate for being an elite green road driver, on Monday morning. My green road must’ve gone off, 10 times that day
Bromley! Great video once again Mike! I really like he fact that there are multiple cameras on a bus - but the idea of green road, which I did mention on Taylor Straub's video regarding it, is that the added pressure it puts you drivers, especially the new one is immense. I think that to a certain extent it decreases the quality of driving - that constant fear and all about that amber or red showing is not good for the driving or mental health of the drivers! Anyhow, keep it up!
I’ve heard new drivers say they thought about running a red light, and risking three points, so the green Road wouldn’t go off. Crazy but I understand it.
@@_Mikes_Life Damn, that a who other level of pressure. I really do feel sorry for you guys, that's not a healthy amount of worrying.
@@sgtmajorpatrickharper7728 it certainly keeps you on your toes
how strict is management tho when it comes to greenroad, if you get too many ambers or reds will you get punished badly? If you don't then I don't see the point of worrying too much. There's regular drivers who have similar driving styles which would pop off greenroad and they've been driving for several years so I can only assume they don't really get into trouble with it unless they have an accident
@@HACKERHITMARKER333 if you’re that bad, they will pull you in the office. If your driving doesn’t change, they will send you for retraining.
Great video. Certainly big brother watching you but is useful and keeps everyone safe. Bromley.
All for the greater good. 😉
Bromley!
You guys have loads more cameras than us! The cctv has proved my innocence on more than one occasion so I am very happy to have it! 😇
Whereabouts are you base.
I'm from London but I now live and work in Cheltenham. All going well I will probably see you at the races next year! (If you volunteer!) 😁
@@lukemartin236 I did to long in the army to volunteer for anything. Lol
Agree you with you on that.
I was driving the 208 when it was still at Bromley up Bromley Road.
It was on diversion through locksbottom and I had an E400.
There was a man sitting in the single chair behind me. So as I took the corner to go into Locksbottom by the Sainsbury’s from the lights, I just heard a massive thud.
I stop at the bus stop and see a man on the floor with his head cracked open. I was like WTF 😳.
After a few weeks I was called in my the AOM and told me that I wasn’t at fault as the man was in a deep sleep and fell out of the chair when I took the corner.
The bus actually had a CCTV camera specially installed right above that chair.
I am guessing that was a re-occurring issue there coz Plumstead or Catfords E400’s never a camera there 🤣🤣🤣
That CCTV camera saved me from a warning
Great video Mike. At least the passengers will have an insight into what you are trying to achieve to give them a comfortable ride. I
think some buses are calibrated different to others. There were a few buses that you knew wouldn’t stay in the green where others would. We were encouraged to report the bus to the team. If enough did they done something about it. Nearly missed Bromley
Ah you see I threw it in at the end, just to see, whose watching. I knew you wouldn’t let me down. Lol
@@_Mikes_Life I always stay to the end. Only Eastenders I don’t.
@@hi-tech55 I don’t even get to the start of eastenders. Awful programme.
@@_Mikes_Life It’s rubbish, nobody likes it in my house but it always seems to be on.
@@hi-tech55 my ex loved it, probably why I didn’t love her. Lol.
I was concerned there wasn't going to be one, I worried needlessly.... Bromley
Lol. Thanks for hanging on to the end.
Do a video on head way
bromley
The amount of issues I had coz of the stupid green road when I fist started
It used to make me anxious especially when it would go solid amber or red.
Proper used to distract me from driving properly
So go-head have the same system.
@@_Mikes_Life no it was at Stagecoach I had these issues with Green Road.
At Go-Ahead we use something called Mix Telematics
Very similar to Green road but less stricter on its monitoring
We only get penalized for harsh breaking, quick acceleration and idling.
You guys get done for lane changing, cornering, speeding as well as what I mentioned above.
@@ManlykefreshINC lol is that why go ahead drivers get away with speeding especially night drivers and later journeys with short running times
@@HACKERHITMARKER333 exactly 🤣🤣🤣💪🏾💪🏾
@@ManlykefreshINC whats ur fav route to drive
Green Road is a load of bollox, even sneezing will set it off
I farted coming up Westerham hill and the green road went off. Lol.
Bromley take care lol .... And why wasn't u on the Thurston bus stand .... I'm watching you
🙌 you got me. I park where it’s easiest for me, to dash to the toilet.
no point going to the stand if you dont have much time before departure as well, I see some drivers park at the bus stop near the taxis to go get something at tesco lol
@@HACKERHITMARKER333 there are some stands, on the station side. I know some drivers plot up there, but I never have.
Seems a bit counterproductive. Looks like more of a distraction than a benefit.
The green Road can be very distracting.
Like you don't have enough to concern yourself with..😒
They like to keep you in check.
