Wish I would've waited a year to grab the 2023 version of this with the working speakers on both sides of the keyboard. The previous model just has empty vents and front firing speakers under the laptop (what were they thinking?!). At least they fixed this on future models.
IN conversation with HP Expert before purchasing he told me there are 2 speakers located at the front / below... The two vents on the front / top next to keyboard are purely vents, not speakers. I will soon find out as I'm ordering one today.
They changed the keyboard in my copy. I received mine as a Christmas gift (kids were shocked at the old laptop that i was using) The new keyboard has silver keys on a silver background. The letters/characters are translucent, and 'greyish' when not lite by the keyboard lighting. So, when the backlighting is not used the characters are difficult to see (grey on silver) and, when the backlighting is used the actually lighting is so dim that it is still difficult to see the tiny characters, there are not enough LEDs (or whatever the light source) such that the entire right end of the keyboard is very dimly lit. An epic fail on the keyboard, very frustrating, I usually keep my computers a fairly long time but I may look to replace this thing early.
I just got this laptop. Is there a way to turn on the speakers that are on front where the keyboard is located because I hate the fact that the speakers play are underneath the computer and it sounds like it’s under a pillow ,very muffled.
Great video. Just got one with the AMD Ryzen 5 and 8Gb RAM. I actually wanted to upgrade right away to 16Gb and while I managed to pry the back cover off (after watching 2 dozen videos to make sure I was doing it right), I absolutely CANNOT find where the RAM is located. Anyone have an idea where it is and how to get at it, please share. For the record I got the battery out, took the cooling fan out, and what looks like a heat sink for the CPU - and can't locate the RAM. I do not mind working on PCs but this is crazy and I don't want to kill this laptop 3 days after I got it. Thanks.
13th gen intel CPUs are doomed to fail 1 year later, avoid at all costs. Its the reason their stock is the 4th worst performing stock of last year out of the entire S&P 500

From what I understand, it is impossible to upgrade the RAM as it is soldered in, not on a socket.
