Bananas is not a very good example 😄 the much bigger problem is the ultra-processed food. Which is pretty much what this influencer acne guy is promoting.

So true ... ah look I remember when I was a young trainer 20 years ago, I wad very confused about what healthy eating was.
It took me a decade of learning and experimentation to get a better understanding.
But I wasn't influencing millions with my uneducated opinion. Which is the whole reason I made my video.

    • @maren2451

@UnityGymOnline totally agree. And it is not easy for people to educate themselves about what healthy food is - with all the different rubbish being promoted from all sides. I don't have too high expectations to a random 20y old. BUT to an influencer!

@maren2451 yep, I agree, and I don't even expect an influencer to know better.
It's just that I can't sit silently anymore and watch the life-threatening message being put put there.

hi mate, I feel your fear and frustration. I was once there too. I can't share a video of how you strengthen your shoulder and avoid surgery, because it's a process that requires adapting your program as your symptoms improve.
Get the SLAP tear rehab blueprint. You will learn a lot! unitygym.com/slaptearblueprint

Love the workout advice and I’d agree not all calories are equal, but also feel there needs be more context here.
If this is in any way saying or recommending getting 2000 calories from steak is more healthful than 2000 calories from bananas,it’s far off and could really negatively impact people’s long term health and life outcomes.
As an aside since it’s pointed at in the video, I say this as a RHN, someone that’s been studying nutrition for over 25 years, full time health coaching for 15+ and also has often been eating 15+ bananas a day for 20 years. I can definitely say getting 2000 calories in a day from bananas ie 19 average and 2200 g is more satiating, smoother digestive and beneficial for both the microbiome and health overall than the same calories ie 800 grams of steak. Higher in most vitamins and minerals, water content, also avoiding excess heme iron, cholesterol, TMAO, HcA’s and exogenous hormones.
Beyond the obvious that the largest amount of data suggests eating even a relatively small amount of red meat, let alone anywhere near that much animal foods has been shown to statistically shorten lifespan, increasing risk of all all cause mortality, diabetes, cancers, cardiovascular disease vascular disease; it also has a massively bigger impact on land and use of resources as well as carbon emissions. According to Data visualizations and various other sources, producing one kilogram of ground beef generates as many carbon emissions as 109 kilograms of bananas while producing one calorie of ground beef generates as many carbon emissions as producing 54 calories of banana.
Sure the intake of external hormones can give a rush and may help a little but with muscle growth (I have no trouble there), but at the cost of all the above. Beyond this studies have shown that animal protein is not only not needed for comparable strength and muscle growth but has a long list of health benefits such as faster athletic recovery, and more importantly helping to consistently reverse the conditions above when possible.
Am I biased, sure, I’m a 20+ year raw vegan, they call me the banana commander, I even recently wrote a book all about bananas, but, I’m sure the animals, the planet and those whose lives have been lost, and the families of those how have passed from dietary related preventative diseases would be too.
Honestly only love, have benefited a ton from so much of your advice, simply felt compelled to add some extra context here. 🙏🏼

I don’t disagree with the idea of eating whole foods or the Mediterranean diet.
But, overall there is no hard science that proves the superiority of any diet system.
Arguing about diet is similar to arguing over religion.
Anecdotally, I believe your diet suggestions are sound.
But, I also see people who don’t look like fitness gurus, Henry Kissinger for example, who live to be 100 years old while fitness legends die in their 70s and 80s.

    • @UnityGymOnline
      @UnityGymOnline  4 месяца назад +1

@@brucehelppie6119 yep, there are many factors involved. The modified Mediterranean diet has far more peer reviewed studies on its health benefits than any other diet, which is why I use it as a base.
