- The Florida State Seminoles lost in overtime against the reloaded Notre Dame Fighting Irish who went to the CFP last season. The game featured 79 points, including 5 touchdowns by each team, 873 combined yards of offense and countless great plays. Included in the excitement was McKenzie Milton returning to college football action two years after a catastrophic knee injury and leading FSU on a key touchdown drive and down the field for the game-tying field goal.

Last few years FSU would have quit. They fought all game. I am tired of losing but I say this. I see big improvement.
Good to see that fight in them again, and they better NOT quit with someone like Milton playing for them.

We actually decent. It feels good. Too many ints and not closing out ND drives when they were 3rd and long were our main mistakes. Very fixable. We have the talent and now believe. Hopefully our corners and qb (he nice but too many mistakes)can improve. Acc wide open so we still got a shot

What an awesome game! Made me forget the “games “ in 2020! The FSU fans were amazing! Don’t get me wrong as an Irish fan I love that we won but man! Those fans were awesome ! I wish the team all the best this year if for no other reason then those fans !
My Noles played a great game made 1 too many mistakes but showed some heart out their last night I’m proud to see our swag come back a little bit

I watched every bit of this one. FSU came back from 18 down to force OT. ND gave up big plays including that 89 yard touchdown run to Corbin. Despite that, the Irish still won. The fans cheered after this incredible battle was over between the two.

Lots great things came out of this for FSU…they had opportunities to win this game but their time will come. The offensive line looked good, they will get even better. Great running backs. Defensive line looked good, better coverage will come with time. Many missed tackles, over all great game for FSU…and truly inspiring for Milton!!!

As an FSU fan seeing the 'Noles not quit when they were down by 18 made me so happy. FSU made a lot of mistake that can be cleaned up. Hopefully Norvell can see how this team rallied around Milton and will start him next game. Honestly I think had he started Milton I think we would've won the game. Lastly, I shout to our RBs for keeping us in the game. Corbin averaged over 9yd/c and Ward averaged almost 7.

As a die-hard lifelong Seminole fan, I was very proud to see my guys step up and play the game the way they did. It had some ups and downs but what they did this game that they haven't done in the last 3 years was fight to the end. It would have been great to see him win but I'll tell you this now, what this coach is doing with this team getting them to believe in themselves is going to make something great happen in the near future. They finally look like the Seminoles of old who took a challenge and Rose to the occasion. They played like warriors and for that I'm so happy to see how my Seminoles do this year.
Best game I've ever attended all around. Electric full capacity crowd, perfect kickoff time with good weather as the sun was setting, excellent officiating and good football between two tradition rich programs. Down 18 we had a feeling Notre Dame could go on to win by 28 or more and we would be in for another season of humility but that feeling only lasted one drive. After scoring on the ensuing possession, even though we were still down by 10pts to a Top 10 team with less than 15 mins to play, you could feel the energy change. Looking forward to the rest of the season and hopefully a new era. Go Noles!

What an awesome game as both teams looked very, very strong, and the atmosphere was sooooooooooo cool. It was just a great game from start to finish, and yes a grand stunning game. The coaching on both teams were so good, and who can tell how far these teams can go in there conference. Could Notre Dame be in the National Champion ship? They have a tough schedule, and each game is important. Who knows. Notre Dame be a champion. Joseph Fallon

That's the best football I've watched from FSU in the last 3+ years maybe. It also didn't hurt that the players weren't jumping around taunting the other team after a regular run of the mill tackle that they seemed to of been doing in '18 and '19

To be fair Travis made some big plays to, but people forget he's still a young QB that hasn't really practiced it very much till this year
@@rhetthayes5981 they said Travis improved his passing and it did look like he has improved. my concern as usual is the o line, especially when Milton is in there. even Travis had a tough time escaping constant pressure.

@@markmac2206 I think the offensive line thinks they can be lax in their blocking because they know Travis can get out of there, idk but it seems like they didn’t block for him at all. Give the man a clean pocket and see what he can do. In this game he was 7/10 for a TD from a clean pocket.
It had to be the game where FSU was honoring their legendary coach who had epic games vs Norte Dame in the past do we get probably one of the best Football games of the year. Fan will be talking about this game for a long time.

This game is like a movie quarterback it’s 104th quarter Milton comes back after a horrible leg injury and brings them back if it wasn’t for that field goal they probably would’ve won but I can thank God for McKenzie Milton‘s recovery from that horrible leg injury in 2018

Watching the replay of this ND vs FSU game I see Florida State can give Clemson a challenge for the ACC Championship in my humble observation. This 2021 Seminoles team is much better than the last eight FSU teams I have seen and they showed a lot of heart fighting back against Notre Dame. Clemson needs some good in conference heat and college football needs Miami and FSU to be nationally relevant again.

Wow that was an amazing game. Watching the ebb and flow of momentum of each team from quarter to quarter is what I love about college football. As an ND fan I’m not going to dwell on this game, being an opener on the road, but if B Kelly wants to execute anyone it should be his coaching staff. Too many easy plays for FSU in the fourth quarter.

If the refs called that roughing the punter, you know the one where he absolutely crushed the punter and got a running into kicker call instead, the game wouldn't have made it to OT. Coach Kelly is lucky to get that win. They had the game in hand easily through 3 quarters, then decided to play super conservative, and you can't do that with 15 minutes to play up only 18 against a team with talented athletes.

If I were Milton, I would get all the degrees I could from FSU. Football isn't his future. He is a FABULOUS football player, but that knee won't hold-up much longer playing football...

I wish the ACC the best of luck, cause Mike Norvell is in control down in Tallahassee and The Seminoles are coming for that conference title, What a gritty performance from FSU and a very very Feel Good accomplishment for Mackenzie Milton. Im happy with Jack Coan, but i really really wanted MM, 2 more years we get to see him play. What an Incredible feat this young man accomplished. ND fan here: We didn't deserve to win this game. We started strong and then went to sleep. Our OL allowed Coan to get sacked multiple times and lousy run blocking resulted in an anemic 65 yards on the ground. The three interceptions are the only reason we were able to stay in this game. Good field position allowed us to build what should have been a commanding lead (if we were actually a good team). But FSU absolutely _owned_ us in the 4th quarter. They were gashing ND's defense with runs right up the gut and we had no answer. Had there been another 2 - 3 minutes in regulation, they would have won. Hell, had we gone into 2OT, I think FSU would have won. 1OT showed clearly that ND couldn't move the ball against FSU's front.
I'm very happy for the win. But it sure as hell doesn't feel like a win. Congrats to the FSU fans here; you guys played a hell of game.

You could see what a tenacious coach Norvell is here. FSU is completely outmanned by a much more talented ND team, but they fought and fought throughout. Despite a couple unfortunate/bad bounce interceptions from Travis, they came back and would've even won this game had they had a decent kicker.

Losing is never fun, but watching the Noles bend but not break actually made me smile. As for Notre Dame, they have a serious chance to make the Playoff this year. Just gotta make some slight adjustments and they'll be in business.

With Brian Kelly you’ll never win championship. Honestly ND is a pain in the butt for the big dog in the finals. Can’t get rid of you because you have cheap wins, but too weak to place you with Clemson, Alabama and Ohio State in the final four
Great kick for the Irish at the end but Good, Lord, they better fix this defense asap, especially the rush defense. Three men down on the line during the second half was a brutal "protect-the-lead-strategy and they stuck with it despite its obvious ineffectiveness and the momentum it gave to the Seminoles. ND also had very poor contain on the outside all night but especially in the 4th quarter. Offense showed potential, though the Irish need a more consistent running game to allow the young o-line to develop better pass protection technique. Coen could be a good one.
Yeah that should have been a blow out for ND. They tighten up though. 1-0. FSU will keep searching for moral victories lol

What would be the out come if Norvell had put Milton in earlier before the interceptions. Still, Very commendable on Noel’s part to remain loyal and start Travis. The defense played lights out, with the exceptions of the calls being made to be in zone. That first touch down killed us indeed. Wrong call. Should have stayed in man or safety should have picked up the tightens. Learning curve with the new personal. KYP. Know your personal. Overall. I think FSU MAYBE BACK..
