Hate to break it to you but no other conference can compete with the SEC. They just have one or two teams per conference that can compete with average SEC teams.
I don't think so. We are weak on the D line we were getting gashed alot. Our DBs didn't display proper fundamentals. Against Florida we gave up two wide open touchdowns. We have a gang of good RBs and WRs. The O line was good at times and other times they disappeared. We easily could have lost against LSU. I love our team but not convinced totally yet
You call that a good game? It's anything BUT! Two muffed punts by the same guy? A fumble at the goal line when a chip shot field goal would have ensured victory? A good game is a game in which both teams play well. In this game, it was constant stream of errors and epic chokes. It'll be one of the sloppiest games of the season, that's for sure. And it was obvious that it's early in the season, because both teams were sluggish, sloppy, and committed stupid penalties.
FSU should've walked away with this game, but very poor coaching almost gave the game away. Without a freshman TE completely botching his assignment on the PAT I don't see them winning this game
Personally one of the most insane and best games I’ve ever watched despite FSU’s missed scoring opportunities, it made a very exciting and defense heavy game. Noles took care of the Tiger Cubs in the Dome, now onto taking care of the Cards In Louisville.
FSU's defense outplayed LSU's offense and looked better than their vaunted defense, too. Travis did better than Daniels completing 20 of 32 for 260 yards (13 yards per reception), 2 TD's and sacked twice while Daniels completed 26 of 35 for 209 yards (8 yards per reception), 2 TD's and sacked 4 times. Travis converted 11 of 17 3rd downs (65%) versus Daniels who converted 5 of 11 3rd downs (45%). Daniels rushed 16 times and gained 134 net yards to Travis's 8 rushes for 31 yards. However, it was good that Travis didn't have to tuck the ball and run as much as he did last year which reduced his risk of injury.
@@iradenlinger3085 Because it would’ve been a TD had he caught the pitch. Same play as 15:15 and if you look at the line on the goal line play, FSU had them out leveraged again. Lsu needs to get back to the basics. They lack discipline and really hurt there selves when it really matter and they had plenty chances to send it to overtime and win the game but they kept screwing up. I understand they have a new coach but he has to get them in order if they want to be good again💯
Last year LSU lost their opener to UCLA. Everyone thought UCLA was so good but it turned out they wasn't. Same here with FSU...they're gonna lose at least 4 games this season. LSU has a whole new coaching staff and the players just gotta get it together. Great comeback for LSU, they'll bounce back and will get better and dominant
AS exciting as this was, all that anxiety could have been avoided. Why did FSU choose to go in "prevent" defense and allow LSU to march right down the field? Why not do what had worked for the whole game and make them earn those yards and LSU would have never been in range to tie the game up to begin with. Most coaches do that but does not mean it is a great call because more times than not, the offense does march right down the field because there is not much of a pass rush and the QB has plenty of time for a player to get open.
I agree...prevent defense ,prevents you from winning the game alot of times ...when they went to the prevent , I was like oh no , this is not going to go well...luckily they escaped with the W..
The reasoning is that if you blitz you end up with 1 on 1 coverage and its a lot easier to give up a big play. The coach is putting confidence in his defense to get a stop or at least draw the game out so that the clock runs out before the offense can score. Notice that LSU scored with 1 second left on the clock. If they make a tackle in bounds on the play before, the clock runs out before the offense can snap it and the game is over.
It works in NCAA Football 2014. I play Cover 2 with 3 DL and 8 DBs a lot. XD But, yeah, I would have loved a clinching safety instead of just letting them throw down the field.
Its important to realize that this was a new LSU coach, a new starting QB, anemic recruiting due to the coaching change, and most important......LSU's FIRST game and FL States SECOND game. Had this been both teams first game, I think it would have been very different.
There was 15 seconds on the clock when LSU spiked the ball. The clock kept running and they reset the clock at 14 seconds. FSU should have challenged that 1 second run off. Had they done that and got it to at least 13 seconds...where it most likely should have been, the game would have ended when the TE caught the ball and went down on a knee. That play took 13 seconds and the game would have been over. If nothing else, that challenge would have slowed everything down a little. The coaches surely did not keep a cool head as they got caught up too much in the excitement and it almost cost them the game.
Yep , and that 1 second should have been run off when the ball was set for play at the end , the refs gifted them a final play snap , when it should not have happened, because the guy was in bounds ..they would never gotten the snap off...
@@benlaw4647 Well actually it was a first down and the clock stops until the ball is set and the ref blows his whistle. FSU called a time out to have the play reviewed. But as a LSU fan they didn't deserve to win after the way they played. All my friends were jumping up and down and I said we haven't kicked the extra point yet. Total failure offense, defense and special teams. Shit even FSU's band was better. Surprised that LSU fans are not calling for Kelly to be fired. Although FSU won, don't clear a spot in the trophy cabinet just yet.
Some of the calls in the 3 qtr were questionable. It almost seem like they bailed LSU out on a few pass interference calls on FSU. The game should have never been that close. Also, why would FSU play prevent defense on LSU final drive. Smh
I see NOBODY wants to be honest...one bad play call which was the toss pitch in front of the end zone changed the game from a blowout to a nail biter. 100 qb scrambles from LSU shows how well FSU pass rush and def coverage is THIS YR. We completely shut down an All American WR to how many catches??? 🥶🥶🥶 #NoleNation Edit: 4th and 2 pass play call was even worst if you think about it🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️

I understand they have a new coach but he has to get them in order if they want to be good again💯
Let’s be real, LSU has been a shell of them selves ever since Joe Burrow left
The biggest play of the game for FSU was big Mason smith's freak injury
Champion match good game not boring
WOWOWOWOWOW! FSU! FSU!
Noles were the better team despite these LSU recruiting classes:
2022: #12
2021: #3
2020: #4
2019: #5
2018: #15
That was a good game
Can’t wait for part two!!! Go Noles!!!
Instant classic
Let's keep it going game by game by game...
GO NOLES!!! ✊🏾💪🏾💯
This was a great game. Daniels is that guy bro.
What a game
This was the best game of 2022.
That blocked XP has to be the most timely I've ever seen.
You crazy don't speak on my team you don't know our roster or how hard we worked go noles 💯💯

game of the year ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, so far
I will never understand that scheme.
It works in NCAA Football 2014. I play Cover 2 with 3 DL and 8 DBs a lot. XD
But, yeah, I would have loved a clinching safety instead of just letting them throw down the field.
As a coach you want them to advance the ball a little bit to waste some clock but you obviously don’t want them to go 99 in under 2 minutes
Noles! We back baby
😂😂😂😂😂
Funny how ya'll say LSU is trash but by beating them now the Noles are back, That's some funny shit right there
@@ericscivicque who said y’all were trash, get out ya feelings
Great Football game
I see NO JORDAN TRAVIS HATERS LOL GO NOLES
Seeing an SEC team lose is the best feeling ever...

LSU quarterback is the one who made this game close. FSU shut LSU down if you really look at it.
WHAT A GAME !
LET’S GO ’NOLES!!
Some of the calls in the 3 qtr were questionable. It almost seem like they bailed LSU out on a few pass interference calls on FSU. The game should have never been that close. Also, why would FSU play prevent defense on LSU final drive. Smh
Refs definetly bailed them out. Lsu's dbs held the fsu wrs multiple times. Very soft PI call on fsu

Beautiful Seminole ball
LETS GO NOLES! Eat your hearts out LSU!
🥶🥶🥶 #NoleNation
Edit: 4th and 2 pass play call was even worst if you think about it🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️
Let's not get ahead of ourselves. I will wait and see how does LSU perform the rest of the year. Hopefully the go and smash everyone else and that makes us look good. But for us we have some problems. Travis's decision making was horrible at times. Throwing into 2-3 deep coverages when oth receivers were wide open. Over and underthrowing rec. Play calling was puzzling at times. We would be going along well then a couple of questionable called plays then we out. Either a fg attempt or punt
Now for the defense. Most of you think that because we held LSU for 3 quarters that we were that good. Were we really? That same defense gave up in the 4th. LSU marched down the field in no time. Was is our prevent defense or were we tired or was our 2nd string not up to the task. LSU rec were wide open the whole game. Our LBs were Mia most of the game. Our CBs were giving LSU rec 20yd cushions. There is on play in particular where either the tight end or the RB draws our LB across the field and then the QB gashes us for about 15-20 years before running out of bounds. Duquesne did the same thing. We better be watching game films to straighten this crap out. Why was no one left on that side of the field? Are we doubleteaming elsewhere? Fla St usually has the best athletes why would we need to employ this strategy? We should be able to play m2m every position.
I love FSU I been a fan since before most of you were born. I'm tired of getting my hopes up then crushed. I want to see our Oline to act like road graders. We need to cleanup our pass protection. Our RBs are ok. We need a goto rec. Our QB needs to clean up his passing decisions.
Our secondary needs better play from all positions. Maybe the coaching staff needs some work too! BTW Duquesne lost to Yale.
Let's hope this weekend off will let us iron out these wrinkles
Agreed with Daniel's LSU gets blown essentially at home!!
@@jbizzle1966 the players didn't give up in the 4th. The coaches went to into a prevent def like usual at the end of the game to run down the clock, they didn't expect him to drive down the field by throwing because we had him on lock the entire game

They were in it to the end because of BK. But with all that talent he can't catch it or kick it for them. As an LSU fan this is good to see for the future though. Fought to the end. Team didn't implode. Not the end of the world. This season we didn't have expectations to the moon anyways. Coach O left us with 38 scholarship guys.
