My only request from Google is that they continue to improve the Pixel camera app and add on screen controls to lock both focus and white balance while in video mode . Nah. You can't release a phone with performance that is half the speed of it's competitors and battery life that are down there with the worst phones of 2023/2024 and still charge $900+
Pixel phones are the gold standard for Android. I have the S22 Ultra and the Pixel 8 Pro and I enjoy them both equally. Since I got the 8 pro I've not had any issues with it in terms of connectivity or it getting warm...and the battery life so far is above average. I had little issues with the 6 pro The modem in this 8 pro is much better...I was getting 350 mbps download on my 6 pro and now with my 8 pro I'm getting 750+ mbps download. I've also had several One Plus devices and I like them too.....I gravitate towards the Pixel phone though because it has what's needed for me to be productive throughout my day.
Picked up my pixel 8 Pro 1 week after launch, so far so good. No major issues, although it doesn't seem like a huge speed increase over the 3a XL... It is notably faster when loading multitudes of thumbnails such as in RUclips, has significantly better cameras and more storage space. Got the update last night, on Verizon. My 3a XL typically updated on the 5th of every month. This update for the eight pro is listed as a November 5th update. Seems like they're holding the same update pattern of releasing it on the 5th.
I think phones are hiting that power mile stone that pcs did in the late 2000s were if you compare cpus 7 years apart , you won't really notice a difference unless your are doing a demanding task or running a benchmark
Switched to the Pixel 8 Pro from the iPhone 13 Pro Max. As this being my first Android phone, im absolutely loving it. There aren't many issues for me, however the phone does get a little warm but to me that seems by design. No issues with speeds of downloading and the camera is GREAT ! All in all a good impression on me for my first android device.
@@wille1705if you've had your phone since it first came out then it's 2 years old and definitely doesn't have the same capacity anymore, so if your upgrading the battery life will be better, if your asking about both devices being new, then all I can say is apple is very very good at optimization and power consumption, the 13 pro has really good battery life, but both phones being new it would be very close as the pixel 8 pro has a fairly large battery. I did just get my 8 pro and it's amazing, the biggest thing for me is just how smooth everything feels
I’ve literally just ordered a this phone and coming from a 13 pro max. I’m glad I seen this comment as it makes me feel better for when I transfer everything over tomorrow
Loveee my pixel 8.. Its an amazing little phone for people who want smaller phones..! I have not a single complaint... I think finally there is a phone thats perfect, perfect in every way... Best display, best camera, very good battery, no heating issues at all, excellent performance with amazing AI and most importantly in a compact form factor... I have nothing more to ask of a phone..! 😊
It does not matter if you can't call a contact, or when you call your doctor you can't select the extension number because the keys are buried. This phone does not meet my needs. At least a tracfone does the job. This one is going back to the store.
Before I bought my pixel 8 pro, I watched several videos and yours is what sold me on this phone! I have been using this phone for about 3 weeks now and loving it. It does what I want it to do and it does it very quickly. I have no issues with battery life (I charge once a day), I don't play HD video games, and I still am learning new tricks. Seeing all these naysayers is just noise, just like when seeing dozens of videos on "why Margaritaville ships suck", or all the complaints about Hyundai engines catching fire (I have my 4th one and never had any issues). People on social media just like to complain more than compliment. Thanks and have a good day.
I had to remove the screen protector, screen was not responding well, especially in the bottom! without the screen protector, it's great, but worried about scratches.
I never understood why people feel the need to upgrade their phone on a yearly basis. This is the reason for the inflation on phone prices. I have a pixel 6a and a pixel 8 pro. Can someone tell me a functional difference between these phones. All i hear is pictures, pictures, pictures...has the whole world become freelance photographers?
I bought the 8pro at launch..I also have used 13pro, OnePlus open, and S23+. I personally think the 8pro is as good, and the enjoyment level is high. Really digging the 8pro
I hate this phone. Tapping the screen is like hitting a hollow core, plus the screen doesn't register taps half the time. The battery dies faster than pixel 7. It heats up just surfing the web. Has connection issues, Bluetooth disconnects randomly.
I started off on the 16th of October with this phone and it was all good until last week and the battery started dropping quickly. Got the November update yesterday and so far, I have had amazing battery life today. 7 hrs of screen time with 44% battery left. Looking good. My first pixel and I'm loving it.
I'm assuming this is on wifi with other features turned off. People tend to report amazing battery life without saying they are on wifi or cellular data on battery saver mode and 60hz.
Urgh ... just upgraded to the Pixel 8 yesterday and I have to say that i'm somewhat disappointed. However, I'm not disapointed for any major issue but it seems odd to me that in terms of customization; somehow Samsung does it better. Case in point: I'm the personality type that likes things clean and organized. I just don't like a continuous grid of icons because it feels clutterd to me. If you're like me and you scroll up to access all your apps on the Pixel 8, you'll be disappointed to find that you cannot organize those apps into folders. Someting else that really bothers me is that on my Galaxy phones I can always set my pin number to not require confirmation. I'm probably getting the termnology wrong but what I'm talking about is when you enter your pin you also have to hit the arrow button to confirm/enter. Sure you have to do that on a Galaxy phone as well but Samsung offers you the option to turn the confirmation off meaning that as soon as you enter your pin you're in. I'm really surprised that Google didn't include this customization. I've only had the phone for less then 24 hours now and so far I love it but these little customization issues are significant to me. I'm hoping I don't bump into more or I may take AT&T up on the offer to send it back but as mush as I love Galaxy phones, I hate that Samsung sits between men and Google prioritizing Samsung apps and collecting data.
Google needs to do what Apple does bypassed the carriers. My pixel eight is unlocked. I’m still waiting for the November update which better be out soon. That’s crazy.
I played with the 8 Pro's "pro" camera features a lot, and I can say from experience, that the difference in processing time from the pixel-binned images to the 50mp images is nearly negligible. By contrast, if there's a lot of dynamic range in your scene or there are a lot of different things being recognized by the Pixel camera, like people, pets, various skin tones, sky, and deep shadows, etc... that usually results in longer processing time - sometimes several seconds. But in return, it's going to show you the Best Take options, it's going to detect what type of photo you just took, whether it's a portrait, landscape, document, etc... it's going to reduce the highlights, raise the shadows, sharpen fine details, smooth skin, all that HDR shit. The Pixel camera is doing a ton in the background and it doesn't always get it right, but that is what you're getting when you buy a Pixel. Turn some of those "AI" features off, and you still have one of the best, if not the best, point-and-shoot smartphone cameras available.
Have been using the P8P for about a month. Upgraded from the P7P. Screen is great. Battery life is most certainly improved. Also enjoying the AI speed improvements likely due to the AI processor. Fingerprint sensor with screen protector has been a bit finicky even after recreating the fingerprint. Screen protector sensitivity is enabled.
The fingerprint sensor on my 6a was ropey, but I find the one on my 8 works great, even with a glass screen protector and the extra sensitivity turned off.... Strange...
P8P is a fantastic all round phone and a real progression from its predecessor. Personally I'm much more interested in real world performance rather than bench mark scores.
I think the nicest thing about the 7 years of updates is if you give the phone to a family member after your done with it , my dad has my iPhone X , great phone that's no longer supported but still runs great .
Hi Adam, I don't know why people dislike the Google Pixel 8 Pro. I have learned that the more I like a phone the more cases I buy for it. I don't know why this is but I have just come to accept it. I have bought 9 cases up to this point. This says one thing to me, I absolutely love this phone. I don't know why but even though I love smaller phones this phone has been so wonderful that I don't like putting it down, which means it's probably good I have all those cases, give it drop protection. All jokes aside, I am a little baffled at why this phone is getting the hate it apparently is.
You remind me of myself I'm always buying cases for my favorite phones 😂 I went to T Mobile today to get the P8P in black for my son for Xmas omg he's gonna absolutely LOVE it I've NEVER seen a better display EVER it's absolutely beautiful ❤️ I am a Google super fan along with 1+ Maybe I've always been for the underdog idk but I am jealous of my son's new Pixel 8P

To b honest, im really happy with the 8 Pro compared to the 7 Pro last year. The battery is a big improvement, with the 7 pro, it gets hot right out the box even with casual use. With the 8 Pro, that has been fixed, the phone stay cool the entire time. The only time when it gets warm is watching videos in cellular data. Therefore, the battery last longer too, and im digging the Bay color! The battery improvement alone is worth upgrading from the 7 Pro imo
I also hate that I have to put in the code to open it, after the screen goes out,yes I set it up to stay open on me,in My house,in My car and truck, doesn't matter,it still locks.
I don't understand the hate that's coming to the Pixel 8 Pro. I currently own the Pixel 6A, Pixel 7, and the Pixel 8 Pro. I've owned the Pixel 5 and the Pixel 3A XL. The Pixel 8 Pro is the best phone so far that Google has put out. By far. The build is gorgeous. Love the bey blue. I agree that Google can do more. They can always do more and so can every other company. As for me, I'm loving my Pixel 8 Pro experience so far.

I've had my P8P since launch and I'm very happy with mine. Using a Spigen screen protector and not had any issues with fingerprint etc. even without enabling protector sensitivity.
Got P8Pro 512 as my main phone. 2-d day with it and just finished setting my apps up. So far so good. Don't like that they took away the spherical pano option, but other than that - seems decent enough after my 4.5 years old P30 Pro. I'm happy it's faster, and I know it's not the top notch, but it will do most things I want. I'll miss headphone jack tho, I wanted to get Xperia 1 V, but Sonly only have 3 years of support.
I’ve often thought that if I were to ever go back to Android I would want a pure unfettered Google experience, it’s good to know the Pixel is a quality option in that regard
I have the pixel 8. I knew going in that it wasn’t going to compete with the performance of the other current flagship phones and I’m ok with that. One thing I do wish is that the speaker would sound more fuller, like my iPhone 15. Other than that I’m loving the pixel 8 experience.
My problem with the Pixel pro 8 is that its $1227 at the moment for the CHEAPEST version here in Sweden.. So as of writing (black friday) the Ultra is the cheaper alternative. I'm sure it's a great phone but at least in my country they got the pricing all wrong.
The only thing I have to say about the pixel 8 pro is the gaming performance is absolutely garbage, my note 20 ultra outperforms it in most games, that was until I messed with a couple seetings, particularly the motion smoothing. After turning that off and locking the screen to 60hz, yhe performance got a lot better, sadly still not as good as my phone from 3 years ago, but good enough for me to not care
Mine is surprisingly trucking along great. We talked a few times about my 6 Pro experience. 4 RMAs. Missing emergency calls from my wife. Overheating. No cellular and WiFi at the same time. The 8 Pro feels like what the 6 Pro should have been.
After watching the teardown of the 8 Pro, I wouldn’t be the least bit afraid of changing the battery in this one. From a repairability standpoint, it looks to me like they have done a good job. That makes me like it even more.
I got the pixel 8 pro last weekend and I was even able to get the free pixel watch 2 still through Verizon. So far I love them, the pixel watch 2 is my first smart watch and the pixel 8 pro is my first android phone since 2013. I switched from iPhone. IPhone is absolutely awful too, so far this phone works great, it still loads things even if service is bad. My iPhone 14 pro needed perfect service to work or it just wouldn't load anything. However, my pixel seems to heat up playing little phone games and my finger print sensor also doesn't work sometimes even with screen protector mode on.
Thank you for explaining that shooting in RAW takes a min because its collecting more data. Very few understand this or the functions of a camera period because they all use smartphone cameras.
I love my P8Pro. I've had no issues. I always order my phones direct and pay cash. I would never sign a carrier contract or make monthly payments on a phone. Good video as always.
The unlock Google a pro does not support mm wave😢 if I bought the Verizon April full price with cash at the Verizon store would they unlock it???? Because I got to have mine unlocked I got to have mm wave😮 I don't know if you know the answer to that question or not
@@CockpitScenes they would basically have to sell it to me outright pricing for at least $400 off. They would have to do that if they're selling me a lot of ice at least knock off $400 if I'm buying it full price that's only fair.
I have the 7 pro, and loving it. Don't have heating problems, battery is great, camera is great, speed is great, etc. just wish charging was a tad bit faster
It's also strange that we have attacks from both sides. We have super android fans who get number obsessed and probably dislike that it is taking a similar approach to apple and focusing on software and external hardware and doing their own thing with internals. Ironically there are also lots of people nostalgic about the Pixel 5 which got destroyed because it was (even more so) a mid range phone with below top level chip, battery etc etc. The Pixel 8 series with bundled pre order bonus of watch or buds pro is still an absolute bargain in the phone market.
The issue I have with the pixel right now, is in the past they would discount them so quickly almost days after they had come out. But with this last generation of Pixels doesn't feel like they have. I really wanted to see the Pixel fold hit 799-999$ and was going to call it the best high end fold for the price. But this time around I think missed their audience.
With all my 370 apps which are installed (and some of them running in the background) I think the Tenskr G3 is the very best option. I've had the Snapdragon 8 gen 2 before and not only was that one ALWAYS lagging when just swiping on the home screen or switching apps, but the battery was draining af. Now with the Pixel 8 Pro, it's been smooth all the time and the battery is like twice as long.
I love my 8 pro and haven't had any issues. Battery life is better than the Pixel 7 it replaced. I used to get off work with 20-25% battery left. 8 pro, I still have 50-60% 50mp photo is a bit laggy for me but it takes what I shoot. 🤷♂️
I've had the pixel 8 pro since it was launched, switching from iPhone 14 pro cuz I really got bored with Apple. Tbh my review is that overall I'm really satisfied with my pixel and I really love all the smart features it offer, it's the first Android device I own and I've been an apple fan boy since a very long time 😅 What I miss from the iPhone is the face id and when I try to edit videos just cropping some frames out of it sometimes it becomes really frustrating and takes a lot of time to process, these are the two main disadvantages for me, other than that I'm really happy with the phone, little bit hesitant to recommend the phone to any of my friends after the watch offer is removed now thinking of it in terms of value for money. These are my thoughts
Thank you! THANK YOU! Finally! I'm so tired of all these people that just seem to love to hate this phone. I know that things are subjective, but in my experience (I have used my P8P for the past month) the phone has been great.
Had my 8 pro since day one and the only problem I've had is call screening in phone settings keeps disappearing, downloading the latest update right now so I'm hoping it will get fixed
Dude I freaking love my Pixel 8 pro it is the best phone I ever had! The battery 🔋 life isn't what I am used to with the Motorola Defy 2021 but it is good enough for me
I get a full day with my Pixel 8 Pro and let it slow charge on my Pixel Stand overnight. Good video pointing out senseless critical comments from other reviewers.
Been having my p8p for the past 3 weeks and it's far most the best phone I've had. I think there's no phone that too perfect....and this phone is almost perfect so if you are happy with the specifications of any phone...then i think you will be happy with it also.
Overall I like my P8P except for the finger print sensor only works about 60% of the time. My P7P worked much better than this. I am also still waiting for the November update on my unlocked phone. Google will have a few years to improve before my next phone purchase. I buy my phones outright and use a prepaid service which saves me money.
My fingerprint scanner has been solid and responsive. I find that it’s been better than my 7 Pro. Are you using a screen protector? Also, if you are did you increase the sensitivity in the display settings to improve performance? Could be the issue there.
I use a film screen protector and I do have the increased sensitivity turned on. There are just too many times I touch the sensor and there is no response. Thanks for the suggestion though.
I have a local dealer that gets me the new phone annually. They buyout my remaining balance and give me the new phone zero down! It's not a necessity but it's nice to always have the latest, hopefully greatest! Been using Google since the 6 Pro.
My biggest gripe from the pixel 8 pro is the abysmal modem performance, but no one is talking about this in their reviews. It drops calls and loses signal worse than the pixel 7 pro.
I dual wield a S23U and a 8 Pro, and in my country..the 8 Pro is only $100 less than a S23U and iPhone 15 Pro after shipping and taxes so it's normal to compare them with each other. The 8 Pro is not a bad phone, it's just a bad buy in my context when you put the 3 of them together. The 8 pro chip is fine, it's the Mali GPU that isn't. If you play games, do video screen captures or edit videos (even for social media), you'll feel it. Load times aren't as much of a deal as things that visually stick out - like dropped frames. And while the 8 pro has its own niche of AI features (that are exclusives and great additions), a $1600 8 pro where I live, is still taking 2-3 seconds to process an image in 2023 so it's normal for people to talk about it when they experience it. Additions and features aside, photo processing speed is a fundamental aspect, rather than a feature. And while Video Boost via cloud is a new and greatly advertised thing, the iPhone 15 Pro does their own video enhancements in real time and is ready by the time you press the stop button, instead of waiting for 24hrs. That's the gap in performance and efficiency in getting work done, that Google needs to up if they wanna continue putting their phone prices up against the Big 2.
Phone of the year is the Moto Edge Plus 2023. Nope its not the S23 Ultra. From display, to battery life, to being eye friendly, to size and weight, charging speed on and on the Edge Plus 2023 is the best phone in 2023. The display is crystal clear, vibrant and the blacks are inky black.
The spam hate it gets online including on Reddit is mad. Either there is a massive disparity in quality control results or it is orchestrated negative PR or a combination of the two. It's crazy. I always really like Pixels, I use a lot of different phones including more expensive flagships and Pixels always perform and comapre really, really well. I often choose to use Pixels for most of the year.
I'm setting up my Pixel 8 (not pro) and looking for a good screen protector. Almost all on Amazon say they do not fit or come undone because of the curved edges. The worst reviews are for Spigen and Caseology. With such poor ratings, the latter two might be returning to the drawing board. Would you happen to have any suggestions?
As long as Pixel 8 is connected to wifi, your battery is ok. You can turn off the wifi and it will drain your battery fast even if you have good signal. I think that why some people are complaining about the battery life.
I would suggest if next pixel pro can change thermometer to thermal sensor for camera or infrared for night time mono photography and also can use as remote, barcode scanner. It would also be great working with blackberry for their security software to enhance security and make new tensor chip build in with gps, so can find the phone while switched off or stolen
My P8P has some really good screen on tiime (7 hours). But the problem I have is that when I check the battery consumptiom by systems, I see the wifi consumes the most amount of battery. More than the cpu and screen. SO the top 3 are wifi (30-35%), followed by cpu (~25%) and screen (~25%). is this a problem ? anyone else seeing this in their divice ?
@@nycalien.. Don't listen to this you tuber. I have been using the pixel phone for a long time and I find it to be the most fraustrating phones to use. I tried to make it my main phone but it fall short in important areas. Charging speed, modem, bad connection, battery life, app bugs within a google software. For a $1000 phone, Google pixel has failed in the most basic function of a phone. The s23 plus is a great phone with great battery life, good camera, reliable connection, fast charging. Everything just works with this phone. Only thing missing is the s pen and long zoom camera. It is big but small enough to hold in your hands. Great choice.
That's funny how the manufacturers remove functionality from the phones over time. Like SD card support has been gone, manual camera controls on this new pixel are horrible: no White balance presets, no exposure compensation, no program auto mode, no histogram etc.
I have no regrets getting the 8 pro to replace my 6 pro. Only thing that is doing my head in though is that when I lock the screen the always on display doesn't always active just showing the fingerprint sensor, but no clock or notifications. Does anyone else have this issue?
I don't think people hate pixel. Most hate Google after P8P because the phone, which is a few months old and costing € 1899, did not get new features. It's just disappointing...

Im thinking about doing the same trade. How’s the battery compared to the iPhone 13 Pro Max ?
I love having the most hated phone! Having a iPhone is so boring, and sooo expensive!
I love my Pixel 8 Pro no issues at all on latest November patch using Verizon as my carrier. Speeds and temps been fantastic.
Nice! Glad to hear it.
@@ddshare wifi for 4hrs and mobile data for 3hrs that day. Bluetooth was on throughout the day. Not on battery saver too
Urgh ... just upgraded to the Pixel 8 yesterday and I have to say that i'm somewhat disappointed.
And what exactly are you going to do if it's not ? Google already has your money !
It started rolling out 3 days ago. Calm down bro. Most android phones are still on Android 13 lol
@@TechOdyssey yes very true
My Pixel 8 Pro came with Android 14 and patch came out yesterday. You should see it soon.
@@SearlesHernandez I hope so
I played with the 8 Pro's "pro" camera features a lot, and I can say from experience, that the difference in processing time from the pixel-binned images to the 50mp images is nearly negligible.
Strange...
Did you have any issues in the CPU temperature like the p7?
@@houssamalmomaniI have not experienced any heating issues with the P8P. I was experiencing heat issues with the P7P.
@@houssamalmomani Got a little warm on initial setup and transfer, but besides that, no. Not had any heat issues since.
It's the camera better?
P8P is a fantastic all round phone and a real progression from its predecessor. Personally I'm much more interested in real world performance rather than bench mark scores.
Absolutely.
I think the nicest thing about the 7 years of updates is if you give the phone to a family member after your done with it , my dad has my iPhone X , great phone that's no longer supported but still runs great .
Hi Adam,
I don't know why people dislike the Google Pixel 8 Pro.
You remind me of myself I'm always buying cases for my favorite phones 😂 I went to T Mobile today to get the P8P in black for my son for Xmas omg he's gonna absolutely LOVE it I've NEVER seen a better display EVER it's absolutely beautiful ❤️ I am a Google super fan along with 1+
Maybe I've always been for the underdog idk but I am jealous of my son's new Pixel 8P
@@katinasoutherland7693 Your Son will absolutely love the Pixel 8 pro It's just such a smooth experience and I would take it over the Samsung and the fruit any day.

Haha. Nice. I tend to buy one case and stick with it but it’s neat having a bunch of cases to choose from can be fun too. And it’s certainly a great phone
I love my 8 pro. Got the November update last night. I have mint mobile for service. It does everything I need. I have no complaints at all
Glad to hear it.
@@TechOdyssey Thanks. And thanks for the videos. You explain things in a way that's easy to understand.
I just switched to Mint last month when I got my 8 pro. Mint doesn't have service for watches yet. Hoping they add that soon.
@@SearlesHernandez I got mint last year when I got my Pixel 7. Good service.
I don't hate it but I think there are better phones for cheaper price like s23 used or s23 fe the ai features are not enough to sell a phone
@@JesManVP perhaps, but I just don't like Samsung's software. I've had numerous Samsung phones and my work issued phone is a Samsung phone. The hardware is fine but the software is overwrought.
@ShawnLivingLife the s23 is my first samsung phone it's pretty good got it for 520 I was thinking of getting the nothing phone 2 but it was 100 bucks more expensive and had a worse chip but yea I got nothing to complain about my phone maybe the aux cord and no upgradable storage I would use motorolas before
@@JesManVPwhy? I have tons of things on my Pixel 8 Pro that my S23U Ultra couldn't do. Why is the S23 better to you? The only thing I prefer on Samsung is the s-pen and the incredible battery.
It’s definitely a quality option!
Motorola is a good option too. Their skin is thoughtfully put together while maintaining the spirit of pure Android
I have the pixel 8. I knew going in that it wasn’t going to compete with the performance of the other current flagship phones and I’m ok with that. One thing I do wish is that the speaker would sound more fuller, like my iPhone 15. Other than that I’m loving the pixel 8 experience.
I'm rocking a Pixel 8 too, and love it. I'm not a benchmark freak and don't play mobile games. The specs are plenty great for me 😊
My problem with the Pixel pro 8 is that its $1227 at the moment for the CHEAPEST version here in Sweden..
Yes. That was a lot of pain and suffering you endured with that phone. Glad to hear this has been a better experience this time.
I do photography a lot, and Pixel is amazing because it is the only phone that can capture full res RAW on its periscope
After watching the teardown of the 8 Pro, I wouldn’t be the least bit afraid of changing the battery in this one. From a repairability standpoint, it looks to me like they have done a good job. That makes me like it even more.
Nice. I haven’t seen that video.
@@TechOdyssey the ifixit website already has a good selection of Google OEM replacement parts for the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro. That’s cool to see
I got the pixel 8 pro last weekend and I was even able to get the free pixel watch 2 still through Verizon.
Go into the display settings and enable the screen sensitivity for having a screen protector on your phone. That should help some.
Also register thessme finger 2 ot 3 times
Thank you for explaining that shooting in RAW takes a min because its collecting more data. Very few understand this or the functions of a camera period because they all use smartphone cameras.
Yup. No worries. People just like to complain about everything and rarely understand what’s happening and why.
Hi there.
I think Google are doing great things. I love my Pixel 8 Pro
Me too
I love my P8Pro.
Because I got to have mine unlocked I got to have mm wave😮 I don't know if you know the answer to that question or not
@@Noworries-PU7ye They have to unlock it by law, although they may try to convince you otherwise.
@@CockpitScenes they would basically have to sell it to me outright pricing for at least $400 off. They would have to do that if they're selling me a lot of ice at least knock off $400 if I'm buying it full price that's only fair.

Anyone have a black screen for a call, with no option to answer the call?
This happened to me for the first couple of weeks, not lately
It's also strange that we have attacks from both sides. We have super android fans who get number obsessed and probably dislike that it is taking a similar approach to apple and focusing on software and external hardware and doing their own thing with internals. Ironically there are also lots of people nostalgic about the Pixel 5 which got destroyed because it was (even more so) a mid range phone with below top level chip, battery etc etc. The Pixel 8 series with bundled pre order bonus of watch or buds pro is still an absolute bargain in the phone market.
Yup. It’s crazy.
Google has rolled out a new update that is of 2.19GB. You can check it Sir.
Correct. I made a video about this 3 days ago
The temperature sensor is actually really cool. I work with machines and having that sensor is very helpful
Maybe if it were accurate or consistent.
@@TechOdyssey May you elaborate?
I love my 8 pro and haven't had any issues. Battery life is better than the Pixel 7 it replaced. I used to get off work with 20-25% battery left. 8 pro, I still have 50-60%
50mp photo is a bit laggy for me but it takes what I shoot. 🤷♂️
I've had the pixel 8 pro since it was launched, switching from iPhone 14 pro cuz I really got bored with Apple. Tbh my review is that overall I'm really satisfied with my pixel and I really love all the smart features it offer, it's the first Android device I own and I've been an apple fan boy since a very long time 😅
What I miss from the iPhone is the face id and when I try to edit videos just cropping some frames out of it sometimes it becomes really frustrating and takes a lot of time to process, these are the two main disadvantages for me, other than that I'm really happy with the phone, little bit hesitant to recommend the phone to any of my friends after the watch offer is removed now thinking of it in terms of value for money.
The battery 🔋 life isn't what I am used to with the Motorola Defy 2021 but it is good enough for me
It's definitely a good phone. Glad you're enjoying yours

So far better than my S23 ultra in some cases but definitely not the most hated phone
7 years is great for people who buy second hand phone... especially in Asia ..
I have less problems with my pixel 8 pro than my iPhone 15 pro also!
Watching on my Pixel 8 Pro right now.
I got no issues.
Sweet.
I've been experiencing connectivity issues as well. Also in Android Auto when you initially plug it in, it doesn't catch my vehicle WiFi properly.
I got the November patch this morning , with EE in the uk

I love the phone... I bought it to my wife and its just amazing compared to my S22 ultra Exynos version --- Next year 100 % buying Pixel 9 pro ;)
For sure. I would take it any day over the S22 series with the Exynos. I’m here the Pixel 9s will be nice next year too
Just upgraded for the Google Pixel 6 Pro. Had no issues with the 6 and the 8 Pro is great imo!
Glad it’s been a good experience for you
Phone of the year is the Moto Edge Plus 2023. Nope its not the S23 Ultra. From display, to battery life, to being eye friendly, to size and weight, charging speed on and on the Edge Plus 2023 is the best phone in 2023. The display is crystal clear, vibrant and the blacks are inky black.

This pixel 8 pro has been really good and the UI has been really smooth on my personal usage and no heat or connection issues and good battery life
About time a real review
The spam hate it gets online including on Reddit is mad. Either there is a massive disparity in quality control results or it is orchestrated negative PR or a combination of the two. It's crazy. I always really like Pixels, I use a lot of different phones including more expensive flagships and Pixels always perform and comapre really, really well. I often choose to use Pixels for most of the year.
It’s really quite crazy when you look at it

I'm setting up my Pixel 8 (not pro) and looking for a good screen protector. Almost all on Amazon say they do not fit or come undone because of the curved edges. Sweet!
Think of the discounts down the road or if they do a pixel 8a maybe?
My P8P has some really good screen on tiime (7 hours). But the problem I have is that when I check the battery consumptiom by systems, I see the wifi consumes the most amount of battery. More than the cpu and screen. SO the top 3 are wifi (30-35%), followed by cpu (~25%) and screen (~25%). is this a problem ? anyone else seeing this in their divice ?
I absolutely love my pixel 8 pro. Battery life has been fantastic, software is great, love the cameras.
If we are comparing the pixel 8 pro to the pixel 7 pro, it’s great. At least that’s what my pixel 7 pro is telling me 😂
Returned mine. Battery life was horrible. It heat up when you use it for long time. It's also on the heavier side than other phones like S23+.
It’s 10-20g lighter than the S23 Ultra and IPhone 15 Pro Max… but ok. The S23+ is also quite inferior and a rip off for $999.
@TechOdyssey I was able to buy a S23+ 512gb for $750 through my workplace discount. Very happy with it so far. Feels better than the Pixel 8 pro.
