I’ve been to over a dozen treks now. And Makalu base camp was the most difficult.
This off-season adventure was fraught with obstacles: closed tea houses, scarce food, relentless rain, treacherous landslides, and the steepest slopes I've ever encountered. But my determination to reach the base camp remained unwavering.

Your cinematography and perspective on life are both beautiful! I would've liked to see more on that dangerous part of the climb with the small iron bars as steps (also, did I miss part 1?) And congrats to Sewan on his recovery!
Oh you didn't miss it. That will be in the final part of Makalu video series. I should've clarified it more. Walking on iron bar is on the way to Shiva dhara. Just a religious site for Hindus. We have to take a slight detour from the way to Base camp.

Trekking in Himalayas in monsoon season can be very risky.
Yeah I learned that the hard way!
Avoid speaking live while taking the video. Kind of distracting. Background narrating voice is much better. N if u can avoid showing too much of urself into the camera. Keep it focused at the view only. Ur videos wud do much better.

Should have sacked the guide
this was my solo trek. I met people on the trail and joined them on day 3
Who else like to hike during a monsoon season land slide etc
Moonson started mid way into the trek. As far as I remembered it started a bit early as per the TV report. Landslide was on our way back. 2nd last day of our trek. That was a kinda first landslide in that area. Even locals were surprised.
