  • we drive from sunny corner to Turon river, and camp out on the river overnight and come back through turon gates to Sofala. My son Ryan drives the landcruiser and he is on his learners permit so it was a pretty good drive for him. The weather was not perfect but we still got away for the weekend.Follow along on instagram www.instagram....

    Great vid Shad, thanks! Appreciate all the track guidance. Hope to follow in your footsteps one day. Do you reckon those tracks are doable in a stock Triton? I do have a rear locker and AT tyres. Cheers and thanks again.

    • @shaddonaghue
      @shaddonaghue  3 года назад +1

      Provided the tracks have not seriously degraded since then I reckon you wouldn’t have a problem at all, just let your tyres down according and once at the Turon maybe walk or check each crossing first

      Dave Herrmann Hi mate, thanks for watching, I reckon you are better off just scanning, most people don’t stick to one channel and its not to bad for passing if someone comes the other way. Hope you have a great time .👍👍 cheers Shad.

    Mate it’s God’s country out there ..... we love it out there ! We often do day runs out there and camp there as much as we can, beautiful spot. Bit of a shit that NPWS have shut a few of the good camp sites there but what can you do.....

    • @shaddonaghue
      @shaddonaghue  5 лет назад +1

      yeah it is a bit annoying but like you say we cant do much. at this stage I am happy that the track remains open. the track to where I camped was nearly shut off completely a few years back. I think you know the track I am talking about.

    Great video. Can I ask what tyre pressures yourself and the Prado were running - just roughly?

    • @shaddonaghue
      @shaddonaghue  4 года назад +1

      Hi mate, roughly 18 psi, and probably a bit more in the back of the cruiser , about 20 psi, because it’s heavy in the backside. Thanks for watching.

  • @jimmyjimmy951
    @jimmyjimmy951 4 года назад +1

    That Prado just seems to breeze those climbs and most everything it attempted in this vid. Do you have any advise on a 4x4 trail map for use in the area?
    Cheers Jimmy 👍🇦🇺

    • @shaddonaghue
      @shaddonaghue  4 года назад +1

      Thanks for watching, yeah the Prado definitely does everything easy they are great cars. as far as trail maps go I have been using an app called Terra Map HD, its pretty good. I have been using this because my Hema has stopped working and I don't want to pay to have it fixed but this app has been better I reckon. but at the end of the day for a trip like this some trip notes are better from a book like 4wd trips close to Sydney.
      Cheers Shad

      Hi Jimmy , I am using the mavic air , good little drone. they have just released the mavic air 2 , so you might be able to pick up an old stock mavic air for cheap or buy the new one, they look good.
      Cheers Shad.
