    Why can't WB just give us a Loony Tunes movie without celebrities and random sports being thrown in? I'd love to have a animated movie were the tunes are the star of the picture.

    It would’ve been better if this movie was made into an anthology TV series where the Looney Tunes go into different WB movies similar to what's in the movie but actually used as a scenario for each episode. Examples include:
    Speedy Gonzales in a Tom & Jerry cartoon
    Elmer Fudd hunting for Yogi
    Daffy as Green Loontern on Krypton
    The possibilities are clearly endless.

      @evanhileman2925 6 дней назад

      I am familiar with the monkey's paw. But are you familiar with the story of Mukhlis? It originated as a tale, wait, it's no tale. IT REALLY HAPPENED! It took place in Indonesia on October, 2019. You see, Mukhlis was part of a council that drafted laws into the Aceh region of Sumatra Island, whereby anyone guilty of adultery would recieve a painful, humiliating public whipping. Not long after Mukhlis assisted in the laws passing was he caught, quite literally, with his pants down, with a married woman. The adulterous pair were brought in front of a crowd and caned 51 times between them. While the law is certainly barbaric, this tale is one of the most well-known examples of teaching people to practice what they preach. It's often the case that those who rally the hardest against a certain cause, end up being secret perpetrators of that very thing themselves. Why do I bring this up? Well, you may wish for a certain thing to happen. However, at the end of the day, YOU really gotta go and be careful with what you wish for. And practice what you preach. Especially if you're practicing on another man's wife.

    As a WB fan, I actually enjoyed both Space Jams and the animation techniques they used. But I can understand why people were disappointed with the sequel for it’s basic plot and LeBron’s performance. To me that’s not why I loved the original, I loved how it payed tribute to both the Looney Tunes and the NBA giving how my older brother, Jaylen Morris, is a has played for the NBA. The sequel does just that but expand the love to Warner Bros, the plot on the love between a father and his son also hits home for me, due to me and my family losing members of our families in the years of 2019-2021. While the CG of the Tunes looks well made for the most part, (although not as good as the theatrical CG shorts) my problem with it is that they don’t give a legitimate reason as to why they needed to be CG. I was having a blast with the 2D animation, and then I sighed and remembered, “oh yeah, this is a Hollywood movie, there is no way they will stay committed to it.”
    It really feels like a decision forced onto the filmmakers by Warner Bros because they still have the mindset that “hand drawn animation isn’t profitable” (even though audiences won’t care if a movie is CG or 2D as long as the story is good). They don’t even make a self-aware joke about it, which is what I expected. The second SpongeBob movie (which was overall a better movie than this) had a better amount of 2D animation versus the CG.
    The CG for the Looney Tunes would have looked better if there wasn’t realistic textures and pupils, because it would have looked more like a video game (which is what it is supposed to be). Just my two cents.

    I know that Space Jam is not a perfect movie, and some people don't like sports movies either, but it was a product of the 90s. The soundtrack, the merchandise, the colors, the clothes. It's definitely like the Ferris Bueller's Day Off and The Goonies of the 90s.

  • @klimmr
    @klimmr 3 года назад +6

    11:46 To be fair, I think that was the point. Whether we like it or not, Hollywood is now pulling a trend in turning cartoon characters that are hand-drawn and making them CG characters. The Looney Tunes are clearly aware of that and clearly don't like it; especially Bugs. It even gets to a point where it feels like commentary on how restrictive CGI can be for cartoons as oppose to letting them be loose and expressive in 2D. Just an observation.

    Even though I grew up in the 90s and loved the Looney Tunes, I didn't see "Space Jam" until a few years after it premiered. But even then, I still enjoyed the movie for its crazy concept, seeing live-action people interacting with the Tunes, and the aliens. It's a guilty pleasure nowadays.
    As for "A New Legacy," it was flawed but fair in my book. I absolutely loved the animation here and how creative they got with the various worlds, along with providing us some classic 2D antics with the Looney Tunes. And while I can understand people finding the Tunes' CGI forms uncanny, I actually thought the textures on them were well done and provided a great contrast to the hand-drawn look. At least it was an interesting experiment.
    The story however was rather dull, but not enough to make me hate the film. Even then, I also would've preferred it if this movie focused more on the WB cyberverse. It was awesome seeing these iconic characters interact with stuff like "The Matrix," "Casablanca," and DC comics, and I really wish we could've seen more of that. But at the end of the day, it was an alright experience at the big screen.

    ❤💖 9:08 - 12:12 It is great to see that hand drawn animation came back once again for Space Jam 2: A New Legacy. That was the one thing that kept me optimistic and excited for!
    I'm glad that some of the animators from Disney, Don Bluth, DreamWorks and Warner Brothers collaborate together ❤ to worked on Space Jam 2 A New Legacy. I do wished them the best of luck. I do feel sorry for the character designer Dave Alvarez for not being credited on this film and he should be credited. I do respect your opinion on the animation and I find it as good as its predecessor. I'm bit OK with the Looney Tunes characters in CGI animated and I wished they would've kept them 2d animated in live action much like it's predecessor. Overall, both the 2d and 2d animation is good. 😃😀😄😁😊😉 👍🏻 💖❤

    It's kinda of anticlimactic for me ever since I've watched the Space Jam Sequel, I thought I liked it, but then I realized something that I haven't thought before: "What else is there?" The sad part about it is that I have such high expectation of this film that I was willing to watch it on HBO Max when no one would watch it with me at Theater, especially how I was feeling very upset about the new Cruella live action movie that I detest, and it's post credit scene which you have know idea how that part really ticks me off so much. There was also a reason why I wanted to see the Space Jam sequel: It's to listen to Jeff Bergman's voice Bugs Bunny once again; Sure there's these new Looney Tunes cartoon that's very well received, but with Eric Bauza taking Jeff's place as the new voice of Bugs, I can never take him seriously, nor could I look past his recent works, and if I want my fill of Looney Tunes, I rather just stick with the Wabbit Production cartoons thank you very much. My apologies if I was ranting or anything, I just felt like all this was for nothing, on the brightside though is that I relive the moment of watching Fantasia and even watch The Thief and The Cobbler: The Recobbled Cut.✌🙏

At least they didn't promote real-world apps like "The Emoji Movie" did. Also, I'm thinking of using Porky's rap as one of the rapping cartoon characters tormenting Chip in my "story" inspired by "Duck Amuck". In that "story", just like "Duck Amuck", the animator repeatedly demonstrates godlike powers over the environment, backgrounds, sounds, and even Chip's body, able to change anything they want without any real way for Chip to resist beyond screaming at them.

But if I had to make one complaint regarding your review, it’s that you were a little too hard on the hand-drawn animation, dare I say even pompous. The hand-drawn animated scenes in my opinion were the BEST parts of the movie. Calling it a downgrade from the original felt to me like an insult to all those talented artists who worked very hard to provide us those moments, many of them big names in the industry (Tony Bancroft, Dan Haskett, John Pomeroy, freaking JOHN POMEROY!!!) Maybe it’s because I was desperate to see classical hand-drawn animation on the big screen again, but I thought those scenes were far better than you say they were.
    Other than that, I enjoy both Space Jam movies for what they are: dumb popcorn movies where you have to turn off your brain to have fun. And if you like or dislike them, I respect your thoughts on them.

I grew up watching the first space jam back in 2011 when my 2nd grade teacher put it on the tv for movie day. I really have with the film where it gave nostalgia as well. I’ll just have to see how the film should turn out.

    To be fair, that title could be said for basically any reboot in general. Some things are bound to be drastically different from the original, and that depends on everyone's view or opinion on that specific thing....

    I really hope one day Warner bros puts the Looney tunes characters in 2D and 3D mixed animation.

    We need another looney tunes theatrical movie like looney tunes: back in action.

      I agree. I honestly loved Back in Action more than Space Jam as a kid and I think BIA actually stays more closer to the tone of the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies considering the director Joe Dante is a fan of the original cartoons and was friends with Chuck Jones.
