I thought it was a super cool moment when the sound post went in!
I've been waiting to see how it's done for a while. I've heard Olaf talk about the process several times but never seen him actually do it.
What a treat this morning! Watching Olaf with coffee in USA
Imagine life without the sounds of violins. It must be high on the scale of near perfect creations. Thanks for sharing the mechanics of how they work. I was totally stunned when you first popped open a violin.
At last! I missed these luthier vids. Good day, sir!
Have a great day Olaf! :D really missed your content, can't wait to get more of it throughout the year :)
Post more videos. They inspire me to get mine out and play it. Not touched it since I got it last year.
Beautiful violin! And another great video, Mr. Olaf Grawert!
Please keep being awesome and you totally deserve at least a million subscribers!

Beautiful workmanship !
I love these vids showing work being done to the instruments!
I'm not a string player. Twoset made me interested. Maybe I'll start playing to help combat arthritis. Dr says it's a good idea. But I love making, and learning about stuff, so here I am...
And now thank you for Pierre! I'm in love.
If the Violin can have this beautiful sound, then I want to hear Violas that you sell from your workshop too.. it must be amazing 😍
Oh my god I think I’m in love.... it’s so fantastically beautiful...... I wish I wasn’t broke now😭😭
I love this, right up my street. Just bought a violin but not as easy to play as I'd hoped. I play a guitar pretty well and do my own luthier work. I'll make it better! : )
You've got some skills under your belt my friend. Your playing too im hearing get better and better. Guarantee ill be seeing you as a master luthier by the time im 30. Thanks for your content, its informative and fun
Very nice as always.
This is truly a masterpiece! Loved this violin!
Fantastic violin and awesome Olaf keep the vids coming xx
Nice Video, Olaf 👍
The Violin looks pretty well made.
Video Idea:
Explaination and demonstration of tonecolours.
What are the colours and how do they sound? Differences between the tonecolours.
Have a nice day!
Ethiopia yirgacheffe is my favorite roast! Excellent light roast always makes me feel refreshed!
Amazing video Olaf!
These vids are great. Thanks for the tips. I make a decent violin. These vids will help me improve my work. Thanks Olaf. And great shirt!
The G string sounds so clear and pure. AAAAHHHH
Olaf you legend love your vids 👊🏼
25 minutes long is not a bad thing ! :}
Oh I hope he sets up mine
Beautifull beautifull violin.
He said 5.5k at 15:30
Love the shirt. Thanks for the video love it :)
The peg shaver look a lot like a mouthpiece puller for brass instruments!
W2G!!!
It has great sound ! And I am pretty sure with a good violinist to play it, the sound will be even greater !
Absolutely...
Hi Olaf, I'd love to know more about how you achieve the hollow when planing the fingerboard. Is the Lie Nielsen block plane you're using slightly curved? Or do you carefully take shavings out of the middle of the fingerboard only, and then smooth it out with the sanding blocks? How carefully do you measure the amount of hollow as you go? Thanks :)
What material is your neck template made from?
Hi thanks for your videos. I have a Salvatore violin 2019 Guadagnini sounds amazing and amazing violin what strings you recommend I have obligato on there now.
Hi Olaf! Quick question for you. Do you do your live-streams weekly or every once in a while?
Could you make a video on becoming a violin maker?
It sounds vary wild wild west to me.
Beautiful....what would this instrument cost in US dollars?
Can I get a more custom made bridge?
Why sand the pegs, if the were already right?
You are going to sell this violin for 5500 australian dollars? Wow that's amazing I would want that violin!
What do they cost and where are they made?
He mentioned at the end of the video $5500 aus.
42mm Radius?
nearly50 violins in the bckground
I wonder if he’s ever spilled coffee on a violin 🤔
is it me or does it sound a bit more like a guarneri than a strad?
Definitely...
Before planing it looked like the wood was burnished
Why scratch it all up after you made it perfect with the plane?
The plane has a flat sole, so no matter how finely the blade is set there will always be tiny bevels, rather than a smooth curve. The sanding block / paper makes the final surface a smooth curve.
@@mrgolftennisviolin excellent. I make furniture and the feel between planed surfaces and sand is great. Now the sanding makes sense.
So funny how you call wood timber. I always think of some one going to the woods and cutting down a tree and yelling... TIMBER! LOL. Processed wood is just wood. Unprocessed is timber,
first
Could you gift me a violin olaf? :v
