I would highly recommend you watch Roman Kim's rendition it is utterly ridiculous how perfect his pizzacato is, how unimaginablely clear his harmonics are, and his breadth of expression is brilliant. In any case I have to agree that this too, was an excellent performance.
@@hola1066x This is one of the hardest violins in the violin repetoire, only a few select world-class soloists can play it mistakeless. Giuseppe did a very good job.
@@danieljosueguerrerodiaz352 That's what I'm saying, Kim is an outlier, meaning he is too far above everyone else. It would be unfair to compare people to him.
Such wonderful tone and balance, it's so hard to find a performance focusing on the musicality rather than just the virtuosity, but this nails it. The accompanist has great balance and is clearly listening constantly to the soloist. Lots to love here.
@@user-yu1tq4qy6z I'm still watching his video from time to time... From my perspective, the most well played version of this piece. But Roman Kim is too strong! Watch his video of eine kleine Nachtmusik, it's impressive and beautiful!
JJC
Bravissimo! Ottimo God save the king. Ero a Matera l'altra sera, strepitoso MAESTRO.
I wonder why Daniel Lazakovich is everywhere praised and extolled (desrvedly, I'd say), while Roman Kim who could easily be the best fiddler of the 21th century is basically silenced?
2:15 is such a boring piano part to play (badly composed in my opinion) but the pianist does extremely well and gets the best out of such a mundane section. Well done, and with excellent chemistry between this two musicians, they're a perfect match! I would hate to be the pianist for this.... even worse if it was even further arranged as a string orchestra accompaniment! I think it should stay as a solo violin showpiece. Why else would Paganini write pizz during bowing? Self-guitar-accompaniment! That's where the magic is - to sound like multiple instruments using ONLY the violin. 8:28 entrance of the flutes! 10:07 mimics a marimba. So on. This was Paganini's genius ( with the great Bach and Baroque era influences).
@muslit Mmmm... Well, is it possible that gratification was not one of Paganini's goals in composing this piece? (Or any other?) He never actually said so, did he?
@@ts13579_texas_usa Put another way, the piece is not one of Paganini's best efforts. Most likely because the melody isn't his, and he wasn't a master of variation form (except when the theme was his own - 24th caprice).
Great performance, u can really hear the wood sound coming out the F holes from a well made violin. But I must say, ROMAN KIM played it much better at that age.
This hall is probably the worst out of all in major competitions. So dry and uncomfortable. And because there is no reverb so you can hear he is not really in the string and playing many passages without qualitative sound. But again everyone would feel uncomfortable, but he still managed to play decent!!

My left hand hurts just from watching.
imagine that pain, but on cello. 😫
Eso es porque no has visto a Román Kim, este man solo está tocando god save the Queen, pero tienes que ver a alguien tocar god save the king

This performance is so light and delicate. Definately a unique interpretation, and I love it :)

Finally! I found someone who plays the 5th variation (which is very rare) while still playing it with musicslity
roman kim plays the 5th var too but he is flexing his skills really hard

This should be the new anthem of the UK. Greatly reflects what the UK is.

For me, one of the least gratifying pieces by Paganini. Mr. Gibboni plays well. But the piece remains ungratifying.
