many talk about behemoth as a satanist band, but in many songs like this, I don't see simple satanism, I see all the complexity of hermeticism, and the imagery of gnosticism and kabbalah, this music is a love letter to the true study of the occult.

I've always heard of this band but never really checked them out until I stumbled across a live version of this song. Fucking hell it's so powerful, huge in sound. And how Nergal sings "Bornless One!" and "liberate me", is alone tingling
A friend of mine has supported Behemoth a lot and says they are the most down to earth guys and Nergal is a gentleman. What a track and an amazing tribute video!

Same. I don't believe any demons or gods really exist, I just see it as a philosophical opposition to the sort of control that Christianity seeks to impose on people. You look at something like the Garden of Eden story, and Christians will tell you that the serpent is evil, but I look at it and say, "Hey, the serpent gave Adam and Eve freedom from ignorance and released them from the zoo-like prison of Eden. He's the good guy in this story."
Doesn't mean I believe that any of it actually happened, just means I interpret the stories in a different way than they were intended.
Well you don't have to you know. I'm also an atheist, not a spiritual guy in the least. I love the bizarre imagery of occult and the music it produces. That's about it. I also enjoyed Anton LaVey's philosophy, but wouldn't consider myself a satanist. To me it's a strange idea that enjoying something puts you in a certain locker. I mean, there are extremes of course. I guess if you enjoy sacrificing goats to the dark prince, sure, I'm pretty sure you are a satan worshipper but that's beside the point.
It's just good old Lovecraftian and Occult horror imagery. With some quite philosophical statements thrown in.
It's a great song that goes hard, no matter what you believe in.

Satan is the true God, and all other gods are the demons beneath him . It's kinda like the Greek pantheon but it's not. And at least the form of satanism I subscribe to is that the Christian God simply never existed but is only created to attempt to control the masses and push us to the side(considering we predate the judeo Christian religion by thousands of years)
