I feel your pain with muddy harvest, 2005, 09 and 2019 were the ones I'd rather forget. It is a different feeling combining on top of the ice and hearing the ice crack underneath the combine. The 2019 corn, we finished combining that like June 20th of 2020, so we've combined every month of the year in northeast South Dakota
you gotta turn the back wheels a little on the combine!! Tractor is pulling one way and the combine is steered the other way. Lucky you didn't damage the back axle/wheel. You are a good herdsman by the way. I like the way you take care of your cows. Very impressive.
Thank goodness for great neighbors that drop everything to come over to help out. That’s one of many things I love about the farming community because at some point every one will need their neighbors help ❤
Weird weather for sure! Husband is out with vertical tillage tool working ground before snow in the morning.1"-2" Always love when you mention your Mom. ❤
Hi Kip!! Winter of 72--73 was an El Nino winter before anyone called it that.Started raining in October and never froze. We ran a 2 row mounted picker in those days and in a rented, non ditched field, we didn't want to gut it with that heavy picker. So we waited. And waited. All winter. The corn went down, but not badly. The picker wouldn't get it all off the ground , so we brought our SWEET 1950s Oliver combine with grain table and ran it over the field and were able to salvage a pretty good percentage, vastly more than the picker would have got. It was tough on the reel, but got the job done in mid May and planted beans right behind the corn.
Thanks for an exciting video Kip. It was for sure interesting. Congratulations on getting your combine out of the mud. That video of getting the combine out is one of your best videos. Those ropes are called yankem ropes and yes they use the energy of the rope to increase the pulling power. Everyone in farming should have a brand name rope like that. Brand name is yankem. Can get them in all sizes and lengths. Wonderful ropes. Thanks to your neighbor for coming and helping. They knew how to get it out and had those yankem ropes. Your video on the new born calf was excellent. Mother cow and calf doing ok. Good video on calf being born Kip. Thanks for everything Kip. You all take care and be safe. The Iowa farm boy. Steve
Need a Yankum rope for the farm. They are awesome. I use one for just regular off roading and hunting. Great video. It’s just blows my mind that it’s Feb and the temps are so mild. Makes one wonder if this is the new normal or just a fluke. God Bless.
Have had to walk out of field before because everything was stuck 4 combined 3 wagons. But has always in July and September can not imagine doing that in the snow. Brrrr
The every day challenges to get your crops in and the cycle of of life seeing a new calf born and sitting down with the wife and kids at the end of the day!! Life of a farmer best feeling's in the world
Man, I hate seeing a combine stuck very bad. Glad all you guys know what you're doing, I've seen many threshing units on them get tweaked and not work right after pulling them out. Hope yours is ok 👍
Are you going to tile that field this year and how many fields are on the updated schedule plan for the 2024 season? Would love to see that progress in reducing flooding in the fields when will that start for the year installing first this year hope it is coming as soon as possible I am sure you are looking at that sooner rather than later putting in tile in fields to reduce the mud farming this year. Again, thank you very much for your service to our country! Sincerely! R.S.V.
Hey Kip I was just wondering and watching all them farmers over across the pond are doing I think it's great. Maybe Iya time we paint your capital brown it's goin to get better until we the people start taking a stand! Was just wandering what your thoughts are on that. Love all your videos thanks for sharing and thanks for your service for keeping US ALL SAFE AND FREE!!
Yankum ropes and such are impressive. Id like to get a yankum to have around the house for my trks and tractors. I got bobtail stuck where slid off driveway prevoius winter if i had a yankum rope and someone else my 520 i believe couldve yanked it out vs i had to call wrecker😢 $350 for 2 minute winch out
I was wondering what you were using that you could put that much of a pop on it and it never broke. What you need is to get your hands on a used barge rope. Those can pull anything out. Start picking corn by hand fellas there isnt to much corn left.
Mud is miserable. When pulling something out when using a rope strap or cable throw a jacket on it that way if wound ever break there is a enough weight to make it hit the ground and go under the tractor or combine instead of fly up in the air and going through the back window.
Been using ropes like that for awhile now. Beats using a chain or cable anyday. Those ropes are priceless!😊

Them places in field will never be the same for years
I'm glad u did not have any damage on the combine or the tractor rope did it's job God Bless y'all ❤
Another farm I follow calls those “yankem” ropes. Kinetic energy! 👏
Love Larson's too!
Beautiful Family
Anyone who didn’t pucker when that was getting pulled wasn’t watching! The deer will eat well this winter on that corn!

Bubba ropes are great. We have several!

Getting a stuck pickup truck can be hard at times, I can only imagine a combine. Great work!

That is one strong rope!
That's quite the pullout crazy
Yankum ropes are made a few hours from me in Idaho. They have saved our buts many times. They are a little bit of cost up front but worth every penny.
That’s how it’s it done! Son
Crazy to not be frozen un Feb. They were just doing tillage in SE MN last weekend. Should be sub zero temperatures now. Thanks Kip!
Muck doesn’t freeze.
The calf is a miracle ❤❤❤
Glad to see that my kids are not the only ones that eat just noodles lol
Yes I’ve learned over time not to say anything lol
Only got about 2.5” today. Warm and rain next week. Heck of a messy winter Kip. Take care and be safe 👍✊
ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO KIP.😊
Thanks Kip for another great video.
NOW THAT'S A BIG BULL Calf !!!!!😁😁
Thanks for an exciting video Kip.
It was for sure interesting.

Wow! That corn might still be there until April. That bubble rope looks like those Yank-um ropes that Larson Farms use?
I like your jhon deer trackers a lot mr kip 🚜🚜🚜
That was way to deep but you got it done good job
The every day challenges to get your crops in and the cycle of of life seeing a new calf born and sitting down with the wife and kids at the end of the day!! Life of a farmer best feeling's in the world
Another great video
Get a yankum rope they're awesome for pulling out stuck equipment I've also watched millennial farmer use them
Nice 😊 😊
My dad sank a 4020 up to the axels. It took two tractors to pull it out.
Tapped the Maple trees on the first of February! Unheard of! West side of the mitten,

Curious what the date was? Still some corn still standing over by Davison on the 14th. Little bit of beans right next to it
Yesterday lol
Weather sure hasn’t cooperated. Prayers for a better spring
I pulled out a brand new 8820 that was stuck in muck ground
Back then no ropes, no mini excavator. 8630 , cable and many chains ⛓️⛓️

If you get the chance take a look at yankum ropes. They are kinetic energy as well.
Where you use stone around the trees at your house do you have any weed issues at all?
What will you do with the remaining corn if you’re calling it quits on that field?
Got play on big John n play in mud!! ❤❤❤
YOU GUYS CAN'T CATCH A BREAK WITH THE MUD MY LORD WHAT A MESS
Would be a good test for some lsw tires
Pretty brave jerking the rope like that. They are made to stretch and recoil . Lucky it never snapped and done ant damage
Ahwell bad farm'n, 😂
Was that the same field he got stuck in while planting last spring?
Was there a reason you didn't go in to combine in the cold snap in January?
Mud is miserable. When pulling something out when using a rope strap or cable throw a jacket on it that way if wound ever break there is a enough weight to make it hit the ground and go under the tractor or combine instead of fly up in the air and going through the back window.
Forgot about that, good reminder
When you feed the cows how can you tell how much to feed?
What happened to your old 4640?
Your combine wanted to identify as a turn plow.
You guys need to get a Yakup rope
The spot where you got stuck will be a bad spot for many years now.
combine driver should of kept the brake on just to make it that much more annoying for a pull.
