  • Wrestling Bios Presents - The WWF Career of Ahmed Johnson
Ahmed Johnson was introduced to WWE wrestling fans in 1995 after he had a brief stint in the GWF. Vince McMahon watched a tape featuring Ahmed Johnson and immediately flew him to Stamford, Conneticut to begin contract negotiations. Ahmed was put on WWE TV Shows straight away, becoming a babyface in the company and making an impact by slamming Yokozuna early in his WWF run.
From here, Ahmed Johnson would be featured as an upper midcard wrestling superstar, going on to get featured in some big matches. He won the Intercontinental Championship at the 1996 King of The Ring, and many felt that this would be Ahmed's big push into the main event scene in the WWF. Things didn't quite work out that way.
Ahmed would go on to feud with Faarooq and the Nation of Domination and, eventually, Ahmed Johnson would join the Nation after turning on The Undertaker. It wasn't long after, however, that Ahmed Johnson walked out of the WWE and reappeared later in WCW.
In this mini documentary from Wrestling Bios, we look at the WWF Career of Ahmed Johnson. We cover the following topics:
    - How Ahmed Johnson got his start in pro wrestling
    - Ahmed Johnson WWF Debut
    - Johnson teaming up with Shawn Michaels rather frequently in his early WWF days
    - Ahmed winning the IC Championship from Goldust at King of the Ring 1996
    - The debut of Faarooq and Ahmed feuding with The Nation of Domination
    - Ahmed Johnson joins The Nation
    - Ahmed Johnson walking out on the WWE during a Raw taping
    - Ahmed Johnson in WCW as Big T
    - Much More!

I saw a dark match featuring Ahmed at a house show a few weeks before his debut with some of my friends. At the time he had this all denim look with sunglasses. The crowd was initially hostile to both competitors on entrance, but once they got a good look at Ahmed's stature and physique in the ring everyone started cheering for him. Cue a few weeks later and he body slams Yokuzuna on TV. Me and my buddies were going nuts remembering that that was the same guy from a house show..

I doubt him ever being World Champion because back then there was the usual WWF Locker room politics. "Supposedly" it was said to V. McMahon after Ahmed won the IC Belt "I hope your not thinking about putting the World title on him". If you do we all walk and boycott. (Taker ran thing's back then behind the scenes ) Just the thought had everyone there worried to death at just the idea. Plus they didn't feel he deserved it.

@@TPRES_74 I do believe if he stayed healthy he would of definitely won the title either in 96 or 97. He was so over with the crowd winning the Kuwaiti cup and he had the size, intensity and explosiveness that would of kept him over. I also believe if Warrior hadn't of had issues and stayed with the WWF in 96 he might of feuded with Ahmed as well as Shawn with Warrior possibly beating Shawn which wss featured in a Raw magazine that year for the fantasy Warfare column. If Shawn didn't want to put Ahmed over Warrior might of if Warrior faced Shawn and won the title which probably was planned.

Companies are weird when it comes to family deaths, I got written up once for missing days of work after my mom died, but in all honesty they were looking for a reason to fire me. They never informed me of any write ups until it was time to fire me. Another write up was because I turned a light around without permission. The light in question was messed up, not the bulb, I turned it the other way so the electrician would know which light was messed up.

Ahmed would had become a main eventer likely even wwe champion if he didnt get injured during 96 and 97, he had the look and fans would pop for him huge, probably would had been given the belt if sycho sid wasnt around at the time, also got sidelined cause austin, mankind and hhh were also upcoming maineventers, people make fun of not understanding his words, but dude had intensity in promos and while wrestling which is rare in most wrestlers, infact that was another problem , the man was so intense in his moves, some of the weakling wrestlers couldnt handle it and got injured
