You guys have killed it. I'm 56 and started a channel in June. I'm taking notes from the two of you. My channel is about minimalism, frugality, and community- I've hosted community soup nights at my house over the last 15 years, and I'm hoping to empower people to do the same. Still trying to zero in on my niche and find the youtube space where I can add the most value.
I started my channel because of the reasons you talked about. I kept seeing twenty something year olds running upstairs or jogging down the street or even staying in hostels. All I wanted was to know where the lifts were or how far was it to walk to the markets and even what are the hotels like. I’m really quite an anxious traveller but with knowledge before I go I feel empowered. I’m 63 years old and am 1 year in with my channel Travelling Over 60 and I only have 200 Subscribers but I’m ok with that. I just hope I help someone with the information I put out. Thanks for your channel.
I'm retired now after working as a computer programmer for many years. I'm re-starting my RUclips channel as a hobby. I'm always trying to push the limits of technology and hope to pass on my knowledge to those of us more mature folks.... Great Info Amigos ... Javier from Houston, Texas
We our fixing to start living aboard our sailboat and traveling. Me and husband are 51 and 58. Thanks so much for your advice. We watch some sailing channels but very very few are over 50. We have a few shorts out but fixing to get the ball rolling on the long forms. Sailing Wanderlust
Y’all are doing awesome!! And I also like the simplicity of editing. It’s just this nice flow of back and forth conversation and it’s always so informative and interesting. I’m 42 but decided to start because I can actually retire in 5 years from my current job but dream of being a nomad. My channel is tiny and struggling to grow but I’m committed to learning and figuring it out because my why is so much stronger than giving up.
Thank you so much for this encouragement. My husband and I are retired&are trying our hand at a utube channel. We travel&winter in the South. I love learning from people such as you two! Mark&Michelle@Retirementthisandthat
Hello! My partner just introduced me to you two a few days ago, and I’m loving your videos, as we are thinking of traveling more. I’m a psychotherapist and I recently began a channel that helps parents who have adult children with addiction issues. I’m also thinking about starting another on anxiety/mindfulness, and your video is very encouraging. Thank you!
Hi, just started learning about youtube and you've got me very interested even more. Will be learning for the next several weeks and hope to get started first of the year. Winston Salem, NC. thank you kindly
Hi, I'm 66 and I started three months ago, the second month went very well and I was growing at a rate of 25 subscribers per day. Then when I was almost at a thousand since the beginning of August something went wrong and the growth stopped. It was a sudden change and I don't understand why. In my channel I talk about my simple lifestyle here in Northern Italy. Obviously I stayed in line with the other videos and I want to continue doing some tests and adjustments.
Thanks for watching @fifthfloorgarden and we don't understand why videos do well or not, or why growth jumps or stalls. We've had videos we expected to do very well struggle. We'll play around with titles or thumbnails sometimes and we've seen that work occasionally. But, our advice is, just keep posting, learn what you can, have fun along the way and numbers will take care of themselves! Good luck to you!
I admire both of you-such an incredible source of inspiration! I help people and aspiring entrepreneurs find their niche and monetize it. We all build a diverse set of skills over time, and we can embrace multiple niches, uncover hidden talents, and explore new career opportunities. I recently started my podcast, "Marketing Your Niche", where I talk about these very topics. I’ve also just launched my RUclips channel, and while it’s been challenging at first, I’m committed to learning and improving along the way. Thank you for sharing such valuable insights. I love seeing how your channel is growing, and I’m excited to learn more about the new products you mentioned (newsletter, affiliate marketing). Subscribed!
Hi both, you are very inspiring and I love your channel. I’ve had my RUclips channel for 20 months now and I’ve got to be honest…I’m struggling. Ive thought about giving up lots of times but I so want the channel to succeed. I think the problem may be that I don’t have one niche, I have a few! I am over fifty and my channel has the perspective of looking at my life in my fifties but I know something isn’t working but I’m not sure how to do things differently to get monetised. Any suggestions are welcome!! Look forward to hearing from you and keep going with the amazing content! 😊
Thanks for watching and good luck on your channel. It does help to have a niche because it helps you focus on a specific set of topics and it helps viewers have a better idea of what to expect. Also, if you think about your ideal viewers, what do you want them to get from or feel from your videos? If you are talking about your perspective of looking at your life over fifty, if you nudge that so that your perspectives are lessons you learned or are learning, that makes it something aimed at the viewer. However, there are many people who are experts - and far better experts - at RUclips than us. Best of luck!
Thanks for watching @chuckmorgan9829 and we use a Canon EOS to film interiors and a GoPro or iPhone outside. We use Adobe Premiere Pro edit it all together.
I am 74 years old Sheep herder climbing mountains grazing sheep and goats in the countryside. I got financial issues buying grass for my Cows so I came on RUclips and guess what my cows
