Beautiful craftsmanship. I'd be proud to carry something with that much time, attention, and effort put into it any day. Thanks for sharing; this is something that I've had a growing interest in learning for a while now.
Great video! Thank you for sharing. Could I request a longer video or a tutorial video? This would be of great help to me as a novice! I also wanted to ask you do not mark the stitching groove yet all the stitching holes look aligned and straight? Is there a certain method to this or does it cone with practice? Thanks Regards Rahul
Hi Rahul, check this out ruclips.net/video/pNXfMC0SqP4/видео.html There you have a tutorial video for a simpler wallet, made by Ian Atkinson. Plus you can buy the pattern from him! I did mark the stitching line, it just doesnt show well in the video. Cheers
Great inspiration to watch the attention to detail and methodical approach. Could you share the name of the music and possibly name the author of the background music playing in the middle and toward the end of the video? The music hits my ear just right and I could listen for hours as I improve my leatherworking skills. Thanks
Extremely beautiful work. Very much attention to detail, I love that everything is done by hand, you are very talented person. I checked your website and you have really awesome collection. Keep going in such a awesome business :) did you not think about making a custom engraving stamp with your name? That would be rad! :) greetings from Slovakia. Love you!;)
Would it be possible to get the pattern for this wallet? Got an old leather jacket from my father and he said I should make a wallet for him and this one would be perfect. Great video also. Thanks for your answer, Günther
I don't sell the pattern, but Leodis Leather does www.etsy.com/listing/571391091/build-along-leather-pattern-8-enhanced?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=leodis+leather&ref=sr_gallery-1-4&organic_search_click=1&bes=1
I don´t, no. But the part you fold over should be about 1cm - 1,5cm, depending on how many layers you have and how thick the leather is. Hope that helps
Really nice work and thanks for the video. If I may, what sort of leather was that? I want to make a wallet, but I can't seem to find the correct type of leather at Tandy. Thanks again. -K
Black Owl Outdoors Hi, it was 1mm goatskin. But you can just as well use deerskin, buffalo or even pigskin. Just make sure that it is thin enough. Hope that helps!
Kinnari Leather thanks for sharing the info about the leather. The 1 mm goatskin I have is much softer, too soft for a wallet and it has a coarser surface. Do you know how this was tanned/finished or could point to a specific one? Thanks! And also thanks for the great videos!
I congratulate you for your channel. I am a designer in Colombia of leather goods and I would like to have the tools that you handle how much they would be worth to send you the money and buy them thanks for your answer
Really enjoyable video. What weight and type of leather did you use and where do you get it from please. I've made several wallets but find it difficult to source the right leather. Cheers
I used to watch a part of a specific video over and over again, where he polished a piece of leather, which relaxed me.... so I guess you're not the only weird one here. Anyway, thank you for the comment!
Kinnari Leather , glad to know I'm not the only one who does this! I feel less odd, now (Or perhaps there are more odd ones like us out there than I thought? Heh). No problem, man. You do great work-keep on keepin' on.
