Salt water generators definitely go a long way in corroding the metal frames on the soft side pools. We went through two before we got a hard side above ground one , the jury is still out on it, more expensive , but hopefully a little tougher than the other ones. Adding some stabilizer your chlorine helps to prevent it from breaking down in direct sunlight and heat , probably would have prevented the algae from forming there. The salt water system is definitely less worry than chlorine . If you got the intex soft side to last 4 years you did well!

This is the first negative review I've seen on an intex pool. I've had pools most of my life and I can tell you pools always take work to maintain but I've found Intex to be a great bang for your buck. Perhaps it is the area you live in that has made your pool deteriorate so quickly. I've had mine for 3 years and so far so good. I did cover the corners with marine grease when we first installed because I'd watched many videos where people discussed the rust problem. But the bottom line is, everyone has to make the decision for his or herself. I love my pool even though I live in the northeast and have only a 4 month swim season, max. I do not swim in public pools. YUCK! And I love having a focal point for the family to gather. I'm a senior citizen, but I don't mind doing the work to maintain a pristine pool. But as I said, to each their own. (Ugh, grammar!) Best of luck on your future endeavors.

What a shame, it was incredible when it was first up and running. Would be fantastic to see you get it all cleaned up and splashing about in a future vid? It was strange watching this after the all new gleaming crystal clear pool. I'm watching videos of people's swimming pools because me and the wife have just bought one that is very much the same! I can see it takes a bit of work and time looking after it.

I saw some one - they said their pool lasted 9 years.. maybe they took it down every year?🎉.. our small pool lasted 2 years - it had a seam problem- as long as I didn’t vacuum the seam it held water😂

If your chlorine was evaporating that quickly, then you probably had low CYA levels.
