Cannot believe there isnt a single vocal coach that has reacted to Shinedown Simpleman in some dude's living room...unbelievable vocals..hard to beat Brent Smith's pipes!
And better than the original imo.
@@DG-america waaaaay better!
Is this performance recent? Smith blew his vocal chords tf out waaay back after touring for Us and Them. His live performances for a long time just weren't the same. This isnt quite up to pre-blowout quality but much better than what I last saw.
J. Coxen people don’t know that simple man was one of the best songs when people look simple man up the get Lynyrd Skynyrd’s
Or 45
Shine down is a great band and a song you need to hear is Simple Man they covered by Lynyrd Skynyrd .
Yeah this one ruclips.net/video/HPVDj-wqgP4/видео.html
@@wolfmanscott69 or this version: ruclips.net/video/Q_yBTIkwXoA/видео.html
100% ^
Yes!!! And 45 is a good one too!
Nah, this version: ruclips.net/video/JoPwYSY4b1M/видео.html
I love shinedown. They're definitely more of a rock/metal band - this is one of their much softer songs. For sure check out 'Sound of Madness,' '45,' and 'Bully!' :)
ruclips.net/video/35dzk0IkRlI/видео.html :)
Came here to comment this. She definitely should check out their more typical sound. Crow Chasing a Butterfly would be great to see too, though it's more like the middle ground of sound for them.
They are definitely "bigger" than she thinks they are. Heck for 2000s bands they have to be up near the top in popularity. Don't think there's anything metal about them at all. Maybe "nu southern rock." Not the biggest fan of the band but big fan of the guy's voice for sure.
@@SheaHarris Yeah, they've never been metal, but pretty firmly post-grunge alternative rock.
@@bodar Lately no, but some stuff on us/them and sound of silence are pretty heavy sounding. This my be where they get that reputation even if it's not entirely accurate.
Brent Smith has famously said he's never had a vocal lesson. They were very traditionally a hard rock group. By the third album Zack Myers had joined the band and geve them a really genius musician that helped them grow into what they are today.
And still SO AMAZING 😍
That's not true. He took lessons from himself, which he should pay for btw
@@Persholm1 😂😂
@@Persholm1 well he did but he spent the proceeds on percocet and Jack Daniels.
Scott Dreyfus not Percs Oxy’s.. he was speed balling hard!! Glad he cleaned up!!!
This is by far my favorite band. Shinedown usually is a hard rock/metal band but they have these really soulful slow songs they play too. That’s part of why I love them so much because their range in styles is amazing!
I could listen to Brent Smith sing the national anthem in a broom closet. He's that good!!!
Shinedown are excellent, highly recommend "Sound of Madness" and "The Crow and The Butterfly"
The Crow and the Butterfly for sure, or even one of my all time favorites of theirs What a Shame
@@Sicarious good shout, that is indeed a great song
They are a very big band . He has a voice that needs nothing. Simple man acoustic, no microphone in front of friends. Man, that was awesome.
YESSSSS!!! More Shinedown please, you must do 45 (acoustic version) pleeeease. :D
Shinedown is anything but country!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also please do more shinedown songs: fly from the inside, simple man (cover), second chance, save me, 45, and so on
They do have country influences though. Hell Brent is from Knoxville. A couple of their songs do have a country rock feel to them.
While they aren't, this song definitely has a country vibe in the beginning.
They are a Rock band but wear Country on their sleeves. I mean, they covered Simple Man. That's super country.
So they're more rap than country
Totally adored the look on your face when you heard this .
With out a doubt one of the finest voices and finest bands working in rock today .
This version is f&*king exquisite anyway. Mad props to the sound engineer too. Amazing for a single take
Mike Patton would be super cool!
Shinedown is a really great show live, the vibe in the crowd is very surreal and unlike any other band I've seen. Brent Smith is a really great frontman, and is really great at interacting with the crowd.

I don’t know what it is with vocal coach reactions but they all constantly stop songs and over talk. Drives me crazy.
Shinedown is definitely more rock/metal this is one of their softer more soulful songs if you react to them again try sounds of madness
Also react to halestorm uncomfortable
In my opinion one of the best male singers ever. Brent has some major chops. Just saw them in New Orleans and he sounds just like this live. I would love to hear him sing some country songs.
I remember when Brent Smith (the singer) used to have long red hair
Thats been so long ago lol. I remember that. That was when he did songs like "Save me"
I remember Brent from high school. Check out the band Dreve. It is Brents band that got signed before Shinedown. They dropped the band kept Brent and formed Shinedown. He great Knoxville Tenn boy...
That was about 100 pounds ago too. Lol
Phil Arnwine I hang out with those guys pretty often. Don’t know if you remember Brent’s first band, Blind Thought, but I’m still friends with those guys too.
@@philarnwine8136 It was South Doyle, right? I had the option to go there, but then we moved to Roane County.
Shinedown is my favorite band, I saw them for the first time last year and they are freaking good live. 😍😍😍
Great video as always!
I love Shinedown, they're actually one of my favorite bands😍 this video made me happy!
Thank you so much for doing shine down
Nice, Beth! Cool choice and helpful insight yet again.
Shinedowns my favorite band❤❤ I love them all
I absolutely love shinedown. I highly suggest reacting to their song "Shed Some Light" Live from Kansas City. I think you'll love it.
That's my favorite Shinedown song
That song is pure emotion. One of the all-time greats
Not my top 1 but one of those I love too
Hi Beth,
if you're looking for extraordinary, please do Nothing More - This Is The Time (Ballast) // SiriusXM
YESSSSSS
In my opinion, not one of their best performances. Thats my absolute favorite band, though.
This is one of Shinedown's "softer" songs but I LOVE SHINEDOWN and I would like to see more Shinedown reaction videos on your channel. They do have harder songs out
Brent Smith is an AWESOME lead singer and Shinedown is an AMAZING band.
Shinedown is probably one of the biggest/long running band in modern rock (90's and on.) Brent Smith initially signed with a band and the label made him drop the band and signed him to create a new band around his voice.
Shinedown has been my favorite band for most of my life. Been to numerous concerts and even have had to the opportunity to meet them! Great group of guys and the music they do is just awesome! Please do more reactions on more of their music, would really enjoy that! :)
Great vocalist and a wonderful story teller
Hey Beth! This is my first time at the comment section. I can see that you feel so happy and excited with the amazing performances that you check on your videos. It makes know about your real appreciation of the singing talents. That's what makes me admire you. I wish you more success with your channel here. Have a wonderful day!
I LOVE THIS Song
Nice reaction! ❤❤
Great vid Beth!!!
13 #1 singles and 10 million records sold. Try finding "Shinedown in the house" imprompto recordings at friends parties. Or Somewhere in the Stratosphere live from Kansas City. They are an amazing band.
I love this song it was my song in my wedding in January, Saw them live last year and seeing them next month I just love them!!!
Beautiful
Of all the live shows I’ve ever seen shinedown by far is the best live both in terms of showmanship and being musically talented
Found this video on accident n watched it, i learned new stuff so thank u
Beth, great to see you branching out! Keep on rockin'!
Brent! Is awesome! Thanks so much! Greetings from Perú!
Incubus - Drive (from the morning view sessions) ...well, I totally love it. And I enjoy your videos, go on!
Erik Oswald
Drive, Pardon Me, Wish you were here, stellar, anna molly, megalomaniac, nice to know you, and my favorite “warning”
Are all great songs
Anything from Morning view sessions really. So good.
Nice! You did Shinedown! I'm so proud LOL
Shinedown is awesome, and fairly mainstream on the US rock charts. Miracle is another of my favorites from them out of their softer songs. Her name is Alice on the heavier and darker side.
They're well known in Canada as well. :)
I love Her Name is Alice! So good!
Brent's accent is very country Considering he is from Knoxville TN. Shinedown is amazing. Love them!
But it's hot af
He is one of the most amazing rock singers for a long time. his voice just stays with you.
you would LOVE any of their live shows, especially accoustic stuff. and you see they are everything from Blues to Metal, and they do some amazing work. they can get aggressive or make you warm and home feeling. they were a treat to see in Kansas City, and I think that entire concert is on here. they played lots of songs and told us the story behind them. from being addicts to cleaning up and family life and friends
You are awesome. Brent Smith is so good. Get chills every song.
I’m actually tearing up right now because Brent Smith is my all time biggest idol for singing and no ones ever reacted to him on RUclips and hearing you say good things about him is making me so happy. My favorite vocalist of all time thank you for this.
This is the song we had our first dance to at our wedding ❤
Shinedown is a HUGE band with a massive fan base.. they’re just a rock band; and unless you’re a pop star or hip hop artist- you don’t tend to get talked about much in the mainstream…
But they’re an amazing band- they’ve been around a long time- & anyone who listens to rock/ alternative/ metal knows who they are.. they’re one of my personal favs
They are awesome live
Damn, its been quite a while since i listened to shinedown. They're so damn good. You should hear 45 or simple man. Pure awesomeness
Thank you for listening to my favorite band! I love Brent Smith! Both the bassist/pianist & the guitarist provide good harmony. Shinedown writes a variety of song styles. This one is on the softer side, but they can really rock out!
They have the 2nd most gold singles in rock (Three Days Grace has just one more). They have also crossed over to the Mainstream Charts with songs like, "If You Only Knew" and "The Crow and the Butterfly."
They have so many songs & styles to choose from! Six albums since 2003. Their 3rd album solidified the current lineup in 2008. Great live shows! harder- "Attention! Attention!" is called "Devil." There is a variety; soft side, hard rock and everything in between. Their latest song, "Get Up" deals
with clinical depression, which one band member struggles with.
I'd love for you to review another Shinedown song. One of the songs that got them to the next level is on their 3rd album, "The Sound of Madness." I hope you can find the time to review another Shinedown song!
~Rocknchic68 (Melissa).
He has some major Power in his voice when he wants to use it. And I believe that he was holding back some in this Post. It was phenomenal. Thank you for sharing with us.
I love this group. Listen to the lyrics to their songs; they're beautiful.
I practiced vowels cuz of you. I never knew how important that was. Thank you.
Need more SHINEDOWN, def, How did you love, state of my head
I am looking forward to seeing them in San Francisco in a few months. I think they are awesome.
Shinedown is the bomb!!! The lead singer Brent Smith is truly an amazing singer and sounds great live as I've been lucky enough to seen them live in concert many times.
Diamond Eyes and Sounds of Madness! They are incredible live and in the studio. Definitely rock/metal.
Shine down does great live, i saw em recently at aftershock.
Simpleman
45
Second Chance
Sound of Madness
are some of there more famous songs. Great to hear their range and strength with their style
The message of this song. We all need that. Shinedown started there and they need to remember that.
Gotta do more Shinedown!
Still hope a Dio reaction happens sometime soon Man on the silver mountain would be great.
Shine down has so much variety over the years can find something for most
You're great. I sincerely hope this channel and community blows up, Beth, and wish you all the success! It's very apparent that you are really enjoying it all!
Please react to Shoshana Bean "Make It Rain" LIVE at the Theatre at Ace Hotel!! It's insane!
Hey! Here is my reaction to Shoshana: ruclips.net/video/fyVoI2Jgh18/видео.html
Shinedown is one of the best rock bands out there. My wife absolutely loves his voice.
I like how you pointed out certain things he should have done differently, but in the original release of this song he did. I have seen them live 12 years ago and again recently. They just get better and better!
I seen them live last weekend and he sounds exactly like this live
Blind Guardian - Nightfall ! Hansi is such a great metal singer :)
Totally agree and what about Lord of the rings or bards song
Totally agree and what about Lord of the rings or bards song.
Brent Smith is one of my favorite vocalists of all time
Shinedown sells out pretty large shows! They are on rock stations pretty often! I have seen them live multiple times!
Theres hours of Shinedown covering all the entire range of music they enjoy. High quality stuff too. Their journey has been a long and mixed one, but I love their music, its saved a life or 2, I know that for certain
"Monsters" if you want to see him cut it loose. Great song. .45 as well.
Beth, uuuummm, you need to listen to Fly from the Inside by Shinedown
shinedown has never been country the hit the soul with there lyrics my favorite band here in the U.S that's rock baby they are on point good luck with your video's
Still can't believe he's from my hometown go to see him do simple man for his family love for the first time and it was absolutely amazing definitely another song from them you'll have to check out
Depending on which songs of theirs you've heard you could argue many genres. Having paid a lot of attention to them I'd say they have a very diverse style
Seeing them live is always worth it I want to see them a 3rd time
Best band I've ever seen in concert.
listen to Shinedown's version of Simple Man...it will give goosebumps
That shirt makes your eyes look great.
Hey! Check out my reaction to Faith No More - Epic (Mike Patton Live) here: ruclips.net/video/lPCaJOYPnpo/видео.html
this is an all time favorite group. they kept me going when i wanted to end it. they have lots of range and are mostly rock, but they do lots of live stuff on here
I keep finding my way back to this one!! He's a great Vocalist. And usually more hard rock/metal style is correct.
They have an entire acoustic concert of their best stuff to pick through btw for future reference!! 😉
Please do more shinedown!
Need to review more Shinedown. Amazing band with many amazing songs...
Listen to more of their music I promise you won’t be disappointed girl !! #shinedowngirlforever
This is my first comment ever on you tube! that said, i was compelled to do so because i enjoy your videos so so much. your expertise is prominent which validates opinions I'vecarried for decades. Pearl Jam is probably my overall favorite, followed by Shinedown. tool has the most emotional and soul enchanting music I've ever experienced. You reacting to every one (positively might i add) has solidified my loyal fandom to you, plus you're adorable. In addition to the awesome requests I've seen in these comments, my humble requests would be: Release by Pearl Jam, Call Me by Shinedown, 3 Libras by A Perfect Circle, and Sunshower and say hello to heaven both by Chris Cornell. Thank you for your presence and im a fan for life
Hey! Here is my reaction to A Perfect Circle: ruclips.net/video/3OJzbDRfue8/видео.html
do Aaron Lewis, any live song, this guy is out of this universe
Lost and lonely
I agree! Aaron Lewis or his rock band Staind would be a good review.
The live version of I lost it all will hit ya where it counts!
I was thinking the same, need a staind song, maybe even their nutshell cover
Stain-something to remind you
I've seen them live. his voice is just as strong live as on a record. And this is a mellow version of one of the softer songs. he really belts out notes when they rock out. Good band!
You should do more shinedown rections!
Shinedown
The dude is a legend
o yes definitely check out simple man and second chance by shinedown. his voice is just amazing
Great review as always! 😃 My american friend made me discover Shinedown and I'm not a professional singer but for me Brent Smith is one of the best singers in the world cause of the huge range of notes he has!
Brent Smith sounds exactly the same live too ... what you hear on a record is what you get live ! Seen them live 3 times in the UK and never once been disappointed.
He has a really cool voice, unique.
“The crow and the butterfly” is one of their best
You’re the best
I have seen them 4 times so far
Beth, listen to more of these guys. Id like to see you react to 45 live. This is a hard rock band trying to diversify and display talent as entertainers!
They're alternative metal band guy
