    suamatia is a sophmore - wow what a chance to grow. arms strong, serious think puni is a consideration.

      Suamataia would be a really nice pick, I just want to see him sit for a season before he starts. He has tons of tools at his disposal and is clearly improving.

    I know it’s redundant at this point but I watched the NFL stock exchange and bootleg mock draft they did a couple days ago (2 maybe) and saw we traded 17 for Tee Higgins and Josh Allen for 26 where we got Jared Verse. Didn’t know if you were planning on giving any insight but if this was to happen in an alternate universe, do you think paying Higgins over Allen and getting Verse would’ve been a better move?

    • @cardiacatsbrand
      @cardiacatsbrand  Месяц назад +2

      I talked about it on Twitter a bit, but I think while it would make some sense on the surface, they would both be heavily overpaying for Higgins and getting heavily underpaid for Josh Allen. I would also just refuse to trade Josh Allen basically no matter the cost, it wouldn't just be a matter of losing a great defensive player, but you'd probably lose the locker room as well. It'd be a disaster for the defense. Higgins should be available for little to nothing next offseason so it's just a waiting game at this point.

    Enjoyed the draft, a little different from every other one. Main thing I agree with is that we have to be aggressive this year.

      Thats probably the price we would pay to get the most talent unless it just happened to fall at positions of need, but I think we could figure something out for this season and add another player there.

    Man idk if I can trade Cam to Kansas City. I like the idea though for sure, but Kansas City 😬

    • @cardiacatsbrand
      @cardiacatsbrand  Месяц назад +1

      Yeah, it sucks watching our players go there and win, but what we would get in return is worth it. Kansas City would probably just keep him for a year and then flip it into a comp pick.

      They would panic, but they would also save over $17M which is nice.

    Bro, people are pumping out daily mocks right now. Don’t feel bad for doing one a week lol. I seriously think there’s a big move coming. We are sitting at $30M in cap according to JDL. You don’t just let over 10% of the cap just sit there.

    • @cardiacatsbrand
      @cardiacatsbrand  Месяц назад

      I did like 15 last year so I wanted to chill out a bit this time around, lol. I could definitely see a big move coming, they'll have to spend a little bit of it at least. Could also just be used to resign Dawuane Smoot and some other cheaper prospects.

    • @DaGoon717
      @DaGoon717 Месяц назад

      @@cardiacatsbrand I don’t even know who is still out there. Smoot was high level prior to his injury, but the lack of interest in him across the league makes me question his ability now sadly.

    • @cardiacatsbrand
      @cardiacatsbrand  Месяц назад

      I think he’s gonna be better, we don’t have a reason to not do a cheap deal with him. If we want receiver depth we could do a flier on D.J. Chark, he’s good as a rotational guy and a backup at least. Main issue is the random bad moments he has now and injuries which keeps him from being a good starter.

    • @cardiacatsbrand
      @cardiacatsbrand  Месяц назад

      We could also add another pass rusher, could even consider Calais Campbell since he was with Nielsen last year.

    I’ll be honest, I love Olu Fashanu, but if the draft went this way, I probably wouldn’t even watch the Jags this year. Without a premier WR, I see them being one of the lowest scoring offenses in the NFL. I watch football to see touchdowns and this offense lacks skill players. If you trade up to get Fashanu, you HAVE to find a WR somewhere. As it stands, I see this team finishing 3rd in the division. This offense just lacks talent. As far as Josh Cephus, he’s got some red flag issues. He had a DUI and was accused of repeatedly skipping breathalyzer test as part of his release. That scares me. I’m having flashbacks of Justin Blackmon.

    • @cardiacatsbrand
      @cardiacatsbrand  Месяц назад

      I’m not gonna go out and force positions, that’s the exact recipe to missing out on great players. Would’ve missed out on Josh Allen doing that, it’s not a good way to build a team. Didn’t know Cephus had a DUI or any of that.

    • @jayshupp5971
      @jayshupp5971 Месяц назад

      @@cardiacatsbrand It's not about forcing players. I could easily see us taking Fashanu with the first pick. He's my #11 overall player and he fills a need, as Robinson isn't signed past this season and it would allow us to trade or cut him. It would also give us bookend Tackles, which I love. Where you lost me was trading up for Newton though. We have our starters set at DT. Armstead will play 3 technique and he signed a 3 year deal. Hamilton will play NT and he signed a 3 year deal last season. I fully expect Hamilton to return to his 2022 form. I like Newton. He's my top DT in a pretty decent DT class. I have him rated as #17 player on my board, but he would be a rotational player here. I just don't see trading up and giving away valuable draft picks for a guy that won't even be a starter for at least 2 years. Especially when the biggest need on the team, the position that basically makes or breaks this offense goes completely ignored. I understand that you follow the draft board, but trading up for a rotational player would be a head scratcher. As far as Cephus, I really like him as a player, but once I read about the alcohol issues, I took him off my board. The Blackmon pick really left me scarred.

    • @cardiacatsbrand
      @cardiacatsbrand  Месяц назад

      I think he’d play enough snaps to justify it, otherwise I wouldn’t do it. Keep the guys fresh for the four man fronts and they’ll also get more snaps when we’re in 3-4 looks. You’d get about 900 snaps out of each player and you’re safe through injuries. That’s my justification, but I totally understand wanting another player there.

      @@cardiacatsbrand Another thing that would have been fun to see, but I don't know what kind of program you were using or even if the program would have allowed you to do this, would have been if you offered the #48 pick and our 2025 2nd round pick to see if we could have traded for either Tee Higgins or Brandon Aiyuk. If we are unable to trade up to get one of the top 3 WR's and if we don't see any other receiver we liked, given the cap savings we now have by extending Josh Allen, using our #48 pick and a future pick would now be an option to get a proven veteran WR. Using picks and signing one of these guys to a long term deal seems to be back on the table, especially if we could trade or cut Cam Robinson, which would free up an additional $12 million, I believe.

    • @cardiacatsbrand
      @cardiacatsbrand  Месяц назад

      @@jayshupp5971 I could make a move like that, PFF allows for it, but I'm personally playing a waiting game with Tee Higgins. I don't think he gets tagged or extended next offseason, and even if he somehow gets tagged he's gonna be worth very little on the trade market similar to how Burns price was driven down. I think we could get him for pennies on the dollar if we want next year(obviously not in regards to the cap but the draft capital instead), but obviously the problem is paying top dollar for three receivers.
