You guys hear this often, but seriously... I’m at the lowest low in my life. You guys are helping me get through this moment one minute and joke at a time. I hope I can look back on this day and feel proud of making it. Thank you in advance.
Sending love 💖
Take care Nancy. You're important.
Keep going, Nancy. I hope you know you’re incredibly loved.
Well Nancy you've probably already heard this, but "baby steps"! Everything that seems trivial for a non-depressed person means the world to a depressed person! Be proud of yourself for those little leaps! Sending much love 😁
You are loved Nancy! You’ve got a lot of Mythical Beasts with you.
Everyone's jaw DROPPED when Jessie started singing during Kill A Man at Mythicon. It was insane and everyone was so excited and surprised, definitely a highlight
Started watching at 19, I’m now 34…and share you guys with my husband and children now.
You’ve been with me through my moms passing, through two pregnancies, the opening and closing of my business. And through my own religious deconstruction.
I feel big connections to y’all through conservative upbringing to discovering yourselves as adults. Thank you so much for what you bring to this world and the mythical community.
As someone who has worked in the event industry, planning for something as big as a mythicon should start (ideas) two years in advance, and be planned one year before, which you then start on the next year's. I think a year "off" is a great idea.
Yes and no. Event planning takes a lot of work but also I think it should be yearly if they want to keep the interest of their target audience and keep the hype going. They are getting older and to look at it realistically I'm sure their main audience is also older. They wouldn't say this but I'm sure they related to and had more meaningful interactions with the audience that is within their demographic. If you look at their views and age ranges per video.
Ik I'm being like a cynic in a way but they should go more toward their fan base which is probably people more like them and who are home with their families and stuff. Idk. Maybe I'm wrong but just having a thought.
@@charityselick6595 they have a census of their viewers every year and the current demographic is 21-40 year olds. They both are over 40 years old… With the scale of Mythicon a good year for planning for the next one seems like a great idea to make it better than next year
@@charityselick6595 I do agree that it should be yearly, and hopefully it will be in the future. I imagine it was a massive undertaking, and being the first, I think it's good to reflect and improve on things rather than just trying to push forward. The team has other responsibilities too.
@@charityselick6595 nah
It felt very affirming to hear them say that they've now realized that they produce their best content when they simply put themselves in various situations. I wrote almost exactly that in the writers' competition a few years back and hadn't fully accepted whether that was true, but to hear it straight from them after all this time is amazing.
I agree wholeheartedly. I'd love to see them dip back into the sketch comedy but with this in mind, and approach it kinda like Joel Haver with light scripting and mostly improv.
Actually Joel would be such a cool collab for them to do oh man
@@KalebPeters99 I have always believed that they are funnier when they are unscripted. The biggest laughs I get from them are when they say things off the cuff, especially Link. He just says things with out thinking about it.
Seeing Charles was my Ultimate Mythicon Landmark. I actually went rambling to see if I could run across him semi organically after DFMB and it worked. He even autographed my Mythicon postcard. “Do You Know Who I Am/Charles.” What a Mensch.
on social media i saw so many people deciding to go to mythicon together because they didn’t know anyone who’d be there. warmed my heart so much.
I've always wanted to be a gmm employee and not just a viewer. but then again I'm sure everyone feels like that
Yes until I think about it. What if I work there then see something that ruins the "magic" I'll stay a fan
All jobs become a job and I'm sure you have to sign an NDA the advice above is the best stay a fan
@@MovieJustin They have such low turnover-I doubt it’s a “don’t meet your heroes” situation.
@@missalwayswrite That’s true, but it’s like anything that you enjoy that you end up “making your career”. It doesn’t have the same vibe anymore. I love trains and love watching them, etc, etc, but would never want to work for CSX.
Yeah and im sure since your comment was lucky enough to gain traction, you’ll be the next hired on! Gotta love the internet
Thank you so much for walking us through mythicon! For those of us who didn't get to go like myself I was heartbroken that I didn't get to be there with y'all. I had just gotten back from a 3 week trip down the East Coast that ended with With over a week at Universal and Disney and my money was all tapped out. I had this trip planned for over a year So it's nice to be able to relive everything with you guys and I'm going to plan to be there in 2024!
LOL at Christy calling security on the head of security
Going to mythicon was my first time out of Canada and it was lovely, I didn’t get to do everything I wanted to because of the lines but it was still amazing. I’ve been a fan of you guys for 13 years. My time there was fantastic, I met so many lovely people and made friends. I knew I wouldn’t have a chance of meeting you two specifically because you’re busy with planning and preparations and all this stuff and if you were to just be around everyone would hound you 😅
I met a lot of the crew by sheer happenstance and it was awesome. I did get to be about 2ft from you two at the beginning of the live show.
The way I described it was ‘this isn’t a con, it’s the worlds largest group of best friends’. Everyone I was around agreed with that, even some of the bartenders. Mythicon was lovely despite the difficulties.
I personally loved it being outdoors. The only critique I have is about the lines (like some lines being 3/4 of the way to the entrance first day and then (from what I heard) fully booked for the second day) and the lack of mythical kitchen sample foods. I really have no other issues. If what happens next is an improvement on this mythicon I’ll be hyped because I loved this.
The free liquid death was awesome
I appreciate the fact that right before they sang So Dang Dark, Rhett was in the back with an unexpected step down, where his foot was still up in the air when his brain thought it would be on the ground by now.
Hahah that's so true I can't believe they didn't point that out 😆
I stopped this podcast at 33:39 to go listen to the James and the Shame album because of the mention of getting emotional and well....wow. I sent some songs to my Husband especially the one with Rhett and Jessie singing together and he said "Is there anything that man can't do." Amazing heartfelt songs 🎵 ❤️ ♥️ I loved it! 😍
Just picked up a James and the Shame Long Sleeve! Can't thank yall enough. I was a worship leader for a long time and always attributed my musical talent to God. I've been out of the church for 10 years, but every time I try to play music I feel guilty. Thoughts like "Who am I to use a gift, given to me by someone I don't believe in anymore" race around in my head. I end up focusing on who I was and who I was playing for while not focusing on the Guitar in my lap. After listening to your deconstruction episodes I've felt some of that guilt subside. I think I might try and play some tonight.
I have just been a part of the mythical community since August and though that's a short time. I am so glad to be a part of it. I have seen Mythical videos before but I never subscribed or followed for some reason but I wish I had. It's so nice to be a part of a community that has good people.
Welcome!
Great to have you join the family!
link i cannot wait to hear about your DJ set! what an amazing idea, i feel you would be such an awesome DJ! i’m bummed i couldn’t see this event but i will definitely be attending the next mythicon either in person or online. 😃
I’ve never done anything on the scale of Mythicon, but when I’ve put on events in the same vein, it comes up that I should make sure I’m paying myself. People will always be understanding when prices are fair and they see the hard work on all fronts. Y’all deserve all the success in the world. Fingers crossed that I’ll make it to the next one!
Thankyou very much for your open communication and honesty and transparency! You did not need to share such vulnerable thoughts with us, but we are so so grateful that you did!❤truly a privilege to be a mythical beast:) been loving you guys since freshman year of high school… now I’m 24!
This sounds awesome guys, I'm glad everyone enjoyed it. I was getting chills just hearing y'all reminisce about it.
I hope someday I can go to mythicon if it happens in the future! It sounds like it was an amazing experience. I think meeting Rhett and Link would be so surreal for me, I wouldn’t even know what to say. I grew up with them from the age of 7 or something like that. I almost see them as fatherly figures in my life. Anyways I love you guys and I’m so proud of you for doing an event like this! And doing it the right way:)
I’ve never been able to comment when the comments are actually more likely to be seen so I just wanted to say, thank you Rhett, thank you Link. You guys have helped me in so many ways without even knowing it, especially with my content. I aspire to be able to do what you do, so thank you for that inspiration, truly. Your songs bring me back from flashbacks, make my day better. Rhett, ‘believe me’ was the first song I’d related to on my spiritual journey, I myself was a Christian and when I came out I immediately felt uncomfortable being in the church and I left. Your song, your story even made me feel less alone, because I felt like no one quite got my experience. The ear biscuits episodes on both of your spiritual deconstructions were so eye opening and affirming. So thank you, for it all.
I'm glad you both had just as special of a time at Mythicon as all of us, and I'm so happy your family got to be there for it all. I'm so proud of the event we all managed to create together and I can't see what the future holds for us all in the world of Mythicality.
Though it might not have been perfect, I don't think any of us mythical beasts were expecting perfection from such an ambitious event that really has never been done before. We got to really interact and explore relationships with both you guys and also other mythical beasts alike, which was an experience unlike anything else. So proud of ya'll and so proud of being a long-time fan of such genuine creators right now. Can't wait for what the future holds
The way I described it was having a parasocial relationship, and then lifting the curtain. That was exactly what it felt like for me. Such a great experience.
Listening to live Dispatches from Myrtle Beach was electric. Please record live whenever possible. Charles is so dang charming #myrtlebeast #mythicalbeast
I can't wait until Mythic-land opens on 10 years with the way you guys are going
I can't believe that I live in the city where MythiCon happened and I couldn't afford to go. ☹️ Sounds like it was a good old mythical good time.
It’s 3:00 am and I knew if I just waited something cool would happen and look
Washington here 3:00 am listening before work
HONESTLY. I'm happy we're here :)
6 am here on the east coast, nice surprise for a bathroom break
My teens spent on RUclips be like:
I love hearing about how the rehearsal kind of encapsulates mythicality. That's exactly why we love you all 💖💖
I'm from a Latino country so I highly doubt that I will be able to see you live in person, but seemed like a fun show!
The head of security staring at Christy part is so funny hahahah >___
I wish it wasn't so far away! I live in the Midwest and with inflation in general I couldn't afford plane stay tickets food etc. But I bet it was amazing! Good job rhett and link! I'm a long time fan and know you put your all into it!
I like hearing the business side of things.. and i was shocked at first to hear they didn't make money! - But then again, like they said, trying something for the first time usually doesn't equal huge profits
Listening to this made me grin from ear to ear. I’m new around these parts, and I can’t stop laughing. Thank you! ❤️
I'm so glad youtubers will no longer be infamous for holding terrible conventions. Rhett and LInk have saved everyone! /lh
Love you guys. Some people will never understand it takes some to make some. It's part of it. A village can't become a village if other people can't help each other build on it. 🤘🏼❤️
“we are looking to the skies to you” sounds like something you would say at a Christian Youth Convention.
I can really feel the impact growing up in the church had on them
I’m glad you guys are open to criticism and are open to talking about how and what you want to fix for next time.
I was so sad that I couldn’t go! I’m from Ottawa 🇨🇦 and it would have been just too expensive to fly there. It looked amazing though!!❤
I didnt get to go to mythicon, however I can completely agree that there is this strong community/ relationship that really mythical beasts share equally with the mythical crew, Rhett and Link and just the overall content that is put out. I have been watching since season 1 and really GMM has been one of those channels that I can go back and watch older episodes and still enjoy them over and over again. I hope one day I can meet GMM crew and have blast and experience the same feelings and connection a lot of people had this year at mythicon
I wished I could have gone, sounds like a great time! Maybe next time 🤞
I am beyond sad that I wasn't able to attend this first Mythicon. Things just didn't align. Even before this episode, I knew that I wanted to go to the next one. Now, after listening to this episode, I am NOT missing the next one :) 2024 can't come soon enough i guess.
Yeah I feel like there are sooo many people who it didn’t align for. So I know they said they didn’t make money, but imagine if everyone who couldn’t go this year did or do go next time. I feel like the fact that they didn’t make money shouldn’t be seen as a lack of interest at least hoping it doesn’t
@@deannaranger6472 I don’t believe that’s what they meant by mentioning not making money on this event.
Regardless, it’s their business, even if they enjoyed this event, it wouldn’t be sustainable for them to not make money on the next one. It’s like telling someone “you only go to work to make money”
I've been watching you guys for the past 13 years and im so glad I started 2hen and never stopped! My life my style and humor all fits perfectly with the both of you it was growing up with 2 dad's that are completely like me and understood who I was and am now thank you for those glorious and amazing 13 years and cheers to 13 more!!! #GMMforever
I definitely want to go to a future Mythicon because I was unable to attend. My favorite band, The Maine, puts on their own festival(s), and they were doing it every other year until the pandemic hit. I went to the first two and the second one was by FAR more organized, but the first one was still really great. I hope you guys do another one in the future!
Guys. Mythicon was one of the most loving and incredible moments of my life. I will NEVER forget it. Thank you once again for all you sacrifice for us... Your fans
Im just now watching because I just got the notification but I'm so happy to listen to your podcast and thank you once again
I can just picture Charles being an alien, he's living his best life 🤗
It wasn't possible for me to travel from Canada this time but I wanna come to the next one sooooo bad!
I am soooooo happy for you that it was such a succes and that you enjoyed it so much. 🥰
Wish I could have went, I'm been watching for 8 years and I fully grew up with GMM and this community
Are you wealthy?
@@alvyhernandez1931 ???????
I wasn't there but it seemed like it was more along the lines of a festival than a con. And I think that's so so cool. Something along the lines of an ACL vs VidCon
Good job to the Mythical Beats for being their mythical best!
I had no idea Jessie was singing on kill a man 😮 I legitimately thought she was a violin she did a fantastic job
I wish I could have made it but hopefully one day you’ll have another mythicon and I’ll be able to come ❤
Should of had an underfilled ball pit, would of definitely had some stretchers!
I just wish Mythacon was here in NC 😢
If only I could and COULD have figured out to watch. Every live event (evening) is SOOOO hard to get to watch.
I just woke up. It's 6:30 and this is now what my morning is. Coffee and ear biscuits!
Fan gatherings aren't my thing, but I'm glad those who attended had a great time.
Please give us a way to watch the mythicon stage show again
Just ordered, haven't listened yet. Waiting to break that tape open 😎
perfect time for 3am skincare routine
Just wanna say, a lot of the rude people, the so called fans, who attacking them for those pricing of mythicon, calling it money grab, or them putting dollar sign onto their fans head, must really doesn't understand how expensive an event cost. Atacking R&L and fans who's get to go just cos you can't is not only unfair assessment, it is also selfish on your part. Some fans you are, shame.
Yes I've been a fan of the show since before GMM was a thing
Can’t wait for my CD!
Excellent video ❤️❤️
Beautiful video ❤️
Hey guys!!
I hope there’s another one
i guess the Mythical beasts are one of the best community!
2:33 Link has to be talking about tana right? Lol
he was being broad bc it’s true; they do have a reputation of going south. yes he probably included tanacon in that, but it’s not the sole event he was referring to. Fyre festival is the one that has a documentary about it.
Either Fyre fest or Woodstock 99
i keep on falling
in and out
I loved mythicon !
I love y’all so so much
I don't believe this was a money grab. I am very proud of these guys and I didn't even get to go to mythicon!!!! I wish I could've BUT yesssss it was way too pricey. Maybe that can be something y'all can work on 😬😂 cool experience tho
Mythical Beasts that went to Mythicon, how was it?
Didn't go but read on Reddit that it looked like something at a highschool level play or something along those lines, when they really hyped the art department up.
The food was apparently regular food named after food that appeared on GMM. And was tiny portions.
And all the booths were just kind of empty.
@@WilhelmWilder Wow that's so disappointing
@@brinoreeno Sounfs like they need practice, which is what this was.
@@brinoreeno Seeing the prices kind of hurt, then I started seeing them in a ton of ads. I'm not sure what's going on with them, but I'm not a fan of it.

I really wanted to go to mythicon to make friends. But I bought tickets without budgeting and ended up not being able to go. The universe is like ‘na you can’t have friends YET man’
54:55 - In hindsight this is obvious.
Come to Canada 🇨🇦 I still wanna review water with y'all in person🤙🏼💦
The price for tickets was so high, it priced out everyone but the wealthier fans :(
how much were they
With cheaper tickets nobody would be able to come because the event would not take place. Also it wasn't even that high for 2 day event, some concert tickets are in the same range for 2 hour event.
@@jakeharris8318 the cheapest ticket was over $300
@@lauralanthalasa7 lol that’s BS. They could have easily had a more affordable option. Also with peace and love, they’re not Lennon and McCartney , they shouldn’t be charging a month’s rent for a RUclips event. Just my personal opinion but I’m glad people enjoyed it.
@@machiel5888 You sound very salty that you coudn't afford it. If you are a fan you know that they did the best they could, they didn't even make money from it. If there was no cheaper option then it was not possible, it would just meant a lot more people in a place where capacity and logistics were at certain point.
Idk why I’m saying this but……..
Beans lol
Lol
I agree

I wonder if anyone fell in love...
I hope so. That would be wonderful.
If they really wanted to do a money grab they would just make a Mythicoin and promote the shit out of it. Then sell at the peak making 10’s of millions. Aka a rug pull.
Good
I can animate draw and sing so yeah I love you some things I can do

I can't believe people talk s**t about two hard working entrepreneurs doing things as a "money grab" but then go spend all their money shopping Amazon or Walmart. Gtfo....
👐🏻
Everything you guys are saying sounds like you're trying to recreate the gathering of the juggalos
🙄😫
This episode of Ear Biscuits should be called "Rhett loves the sound of his own voice"
🎶 and nothing else matters 🎶
Maybe because Link wants to have a whole episode on his DJing gig...
And you still didn't hear them Link say he wanted to do his own episode? P.S. it's a podcast a person talking alot is literally the point.
