Rhett and Link basically raised me. I’ve been watching them for half of the time I’ve been alive on the Earth. And Smosh was such a huge part of my childhood. This interview was incredible and heartwarming and I’m so so so excited for watch Smosh with Anthony and Ian together again 💕
The way they view each other is so beautiful. Rhett talking about how link is so funny and unexpected and Link talking about how strong of a leader rhett is. They have such a healthy foundation of friendship.
I love Rhett and Link together, but seeing them interview separately was actually really lovely too. It's wonderful to see how they talk about one another and how wise they both are. It's quite clear they have such a strong bond and friendship together and both lift each other up in many different ways. Also, lovely to see Anthony interview them seeing as he closely relates in a lot of ways with his friendship with Ian. Honestly, Rhett and Link are absolute heroes for fostering SMOSH when they needed it the most. They're both just such lovely guys & it was really sweet to see Anthony thank them personally. Proud to have been a fan of Rhett and Link for many years and will continue to be a fan for many years to come. A big thank you from all us of too! ❤ Rhett and Link will forever be the internet dads in our hearts. 🥰
Rhett and Link's philosophy on maintaining a healthy friendship/relationship is so heartwarming and comforting. Knowing that building a healthy friendship/relationship is founded upon solid communication and understanding is so AWESOME!! Thank you for having them on the show.
@@muchanadziko6378 I wouldn't say its that obvious unless you've been blessed with that solid foundation in your youth. Many people like myself had to learn this stuff on our own!
Why are Rhett and Link such healthy individuals?! I am a fan of them, and to continuously hear them speak so eloquently about their relationships and their feelings. They have seemed to let go a lot of toxic masculinity and it's so refreshing to see/hear.
The way this trully feels like an old married couple educating a younger couple who were on the rocks on how they stayed together so long that they can learn from. I love it. ❤❤
I really find it so weird how we gravitate toward familiarity without even knowing it. I mean Anthony and Rhett seem so similar and they both found this lifelong best friend even with having ups and downs and now own businesses together and they all work together. Really is such a small world, you are the sum of the people you surround yourself with
I love how well Anthony vibes with both Rhett and Link. You can tell that they all mutually respect each other but at the same time you can see the mentorship in place. Anthony, even though he is the interviewer in this episode, he still asks for advice from them, and it's so visible how much he looks up to them. By far my favorite interview ❤
34:45 The look on Anthony's face when he realized what he just said and what it implied was so fucking funny and Rhett and Link were far too busy talking pant length to notice. I am dying 🤣
This is one of those interviews where i can see a genuine connection between the interviewer and interviewees which makes in depth interviews like this so much better because they can relate so much to what they are doing and how they feel
This was beautifully edited. The edit was so smooth that it made it feel like all three were in the room together the whole time whilst providing the guests the freedom to be themselves. Great work
I never noticed until this interview how great of a flow Rhett and Link have that they’re able to just tell when the other is done talking and seamlessly give an answer to the questions that are asked.
When Link said, "in my heart of hearts, I never felt like Smosh was ours", my own heart lit up. I had imagined how Rhett and Link might comment to that point weeks ago when the news broke about Smosh being bought back. That is exactly how I thought Link would respond. I think I watch too much GMM lol
Have you watched Anthony's interview with Ian? Ian mentioned how when he met with Rhett and Link about buying back Smosh, Link immediately wanted to talk about relationship and that business would work itself out.
side note: rhett’s solo music project “james and the shame” is amazing and deserves so much more recognition. highly recommended listening for anyone deconverting or who has religious trauma. 10/10 will make you cry and feel less alone
Proof that successful friendships need as much communication as successful marriages. Needs can be both romantic and platonic. Link is so insightful and emotionally aware. Rhett is a good balance in his spontaneity and rationale. I'd kill for a friendship like that. No wonder I resort to Smosh and Mythical for entertainment.
a platonically married man to his male best friend, talking to two older platonically married male best friends about their marriage-best friendship. I love it😂
Cute. I'm also married to my best friend, like actually married in my case, but it doesn't really make too much of a difference when there is love and commitment, life doesn't provide us with enough good representation of relationships that can stand the test of time,.. no matter the type.
@@taoist32 It's more along the lines of two historically known best friends essentially are under the wings of another pair of male best friends on this platform.
it makes me so happy how all these og youtubers are like a family they’re all genuinely rooting for each other and constantly supporting their endeavors it’s so heartwarming especially how you can tell everyone from that era got into this purely for the love and joy of it (and that’s not to say there aren’t still creators like that but admittedly now that this has become a career there are a slew of people in it for money and/or notoriety over love of creating)
I am a big fan of GMM and Smosh. Grew up on them both. To have Rhett and Link help save Smosh and then sell it back to Ian and Anthony is special. They are all RUclips legends!
Same! Although I don't consider myself part of Smosh's target audience now, it's nice to watch them again create videos together and feel those nostalgic feelings.
Oh, Link. You will never be just a sidekick. It’s sad he doesn’t realise how many people adore him for him and how many lives he’s touched. Such a pure, sweet soul ❤
This video really made me stand still about how incredibly talented and intelligent Rhett and Link actually are, after watching them for like a decade. And Anthony's thank you sounded so sincere, I actually shed a tear :')
goosebumps. been a subscriber of both smosh and R&L for over 12 years. so happy I can relive the best internet entertainment of my life as an adult in a whole new way. thankful for Rhett and Link keeping smosh alive, and thankful for the universe bringing Ian and Anthony back together. couldn't be more at peace.
@RomanisRandomthreatening ppl that their lives are gonna die if they don't subscribe (which obviously isn't true), probablyyy isn't the best way to promote yourself 💀
It's so interesting to watch them individually, but then to see them bloom as a duo the moment they're brought together. They really do perfectly riff off one another. Probably the most iconic duo.
What absolute legends being interviewed by an absolute legends, these guys were my childhood, I’m thankful everyday for how they shaped me and my humour
To find someone in childhood and keep that friendship growing through so many different seasons of life is truly a gift. Happy for them and wishing for their friendship to continue to flourish until they are old and grey!
The fact that they're still friends since ELEMENTARY SCHOOL is just a testament to how strong their friendships are. They're like brothers, hell, they're CLOSER than brothers. Loved this video btw. Very interesting to get an insight into their past etc.
I love that Rhett mentioned what he was wearing, so that they _wouldn’t_ wear similar things; whilst Link interpreted this information to be, so that they _would_ wear similar things.
I need these guys together again on Epic Rap Battles of History, their renaissance artists team was too good just for two minutes. Smosh and GMM are just a fantastic combo.
As an elder RUclips viewer (29) who grew up watching Smosh, Good Morning Chia Lincoln/GMM/Rhett and Link in general, it’s so nice to see y’all together. It’s been so cool seeing Anthony come into his own with interviewing and I love seeing this side of Rhett and Link. That’s why I enjoy Ear Biscuits so much, seeing them be themselves and not their GMM personas/family friendly content. What I love the most about current day GMM and Anthony on his own channel is seeing their channels grow up and mature WITH me. Y’all really understand what you’re doing and all three of you have never stayed “stagnant” (for lack of a better term) for long, and that’s why you’ve remained successful and relevant for over a DECADE. That’s truly amazing.
Such a clever idea to have them talk separately, it makes it so interesting as you always see them together. Their friendship and honesty with each other and respect for each other is honourable.
Such wholesome friendships. Between this channel and the Smosh channels, I've been learning about these solid relationships. Much more so than I've been entertained by them, which is saying a lot 😊
I'm a pretty casual GMM fan, but I really resonated with Link in this interview and he made me do some introspection on my role in friendships and I really hope it makes me a better friend. Really well done interview, Anthony you are such a genuine interviewer and it really shows in the responses. Love your content it's so damn wholesome and heartwarming.
So many OG RUclipsrs are being overlooked these days, but at least channels like this one give them a chance to show how much they’ve positively impacted the platform and its users!
Hats off to the editor(s) / editing of this video. Really liked the way you handled the separation of Rhett and Link while still being able to combine their stories in a cohesive way. Really well done.
They work because of their maturity and mutual understanding. It's no coincidence that their marriges work so well too, they really just managed to tune into their psyché.
god there's sth so simple but charming about these two, like you can just tell they are really genuinely nice people that vibe so well with one another and it's really nice to see
Anthony, I think you make some of the best interviews because you ask deep questions, patiently let them speak, and then organically change the direction of the interview based on their responses. You're also a good speaker because you're a good listener.
I love the duo dynamic, because it's usually they are genuinely friends and they play off each other, and tell each other the truth like it is. It's hard to be just you in a world that has a lot of more interesting thems, but to be us, is like easier because we have someone to pick us up when we don't think our ideas are that great. And then they are married so ultimate happiness
im amazed at the profoundness of Link's analogy about your failures being the cement that glue together the bricks that are your success. It's easy to forget how smart this guy actually is lmao
So much to be learned about relationships in general from this episode. When Link said you’re never passed the point of needing to talk things through (paraphrased). Relationships are really just communication, speaking up for yourself and creating a safe space for your partner to do the same and vice versa.
Watching this and hearing about their struggles and growth gives me the best self-gratitude that I’ve been able to grow from past friendships that were similar to this. Watching both Rhett & Link and Smosh from the very beginning, this is peak wholesomeness.
I LOVE how the already epic journey of Rhett & Link eventually ended up intersecting with that of Ian and Anthony in a super cool twist of fate... to create this awesome magical internet story. It's SO freaking awesome! Rhett & Link and Ian & Anthony are the best duos, for sure! All of this is definitely movie material 👌👌👌👌👌👌✨✨💛💛
Rhett & Link are just the most genuine, kind, funny, honest, reliable people ever. I've watched GMM for years now and I love seeing them grow, starting their own side projects and also helping other people out. Social media can be such a toxic place and it's always great to see how much good is still left. I wish them both eternal success and happiness and am really proud to be a mythical beast. ❤❤❤
I absolutely loved that they did the interview individually. And this is only one of the few videos I’ve watched of Anthony’s and I have to say, he is extremely respectful and allows his guests to speak and doesn’t interrupt . Loved this all around!
The thing I admire about these dudes is their genuine wisdom. You can hear the years of experience in both content creation AND friendship when they speak. This was a really insightful video!
I feel like it speeks volumes to the incredible dynamic that Rhett and Link have, that as soon as they were together, I couldn't stop laughing. Incredible duo and wonderful interview to see them both seperate first and then enjoy their dynamic together
I freaking love this. Creators supporting creators, really makes an amazing duo to give you the confidence and strength back to do what you love and having ppl support you and believe in you. I relate so much working in the game dev industry, the community becomes your family and is so ingrained in your personal life and passion so it’s so wonderful to see that click when you’re finally where you want to be, with your crew backing you up and having your back. It’s so easy to get burned out when you invest so much of your own personal time and energy so having ppl onboard to help steer the ship in the right direction is going to make you go miles, no doubt ❤️
This is a special interview, I’m glad GMM was there for Smosh in their time of need. Seeing their individual perspectives on how they function in a relationship was also very insightful in understanding how they’ve been doing this business for so long, while keeping their chemistry intact!
I like that in the interview they make clear link is the more chaotic and that they are both wearing the same outfit but link's wearing the more chaotic version of it
I always knew Rhett and Link were talented, but I always payed attention to the business aspect, not the personal. These men are extremely emotionally talented, balancing being a father, a husband, and a best friend full time along with a job where you have to be professional with one of those people, and stand up for yourself against someone you love when it comes to business deals.... wow. They have found the magic mix of friendship, family, romance, and business. Round of fucking applause guys, i've been watching GMM since I was eight, im now 17. My internet dads fr, I love them.
Damn, I was actually choked up a couple times during this. Just seeing the people, who I have watched and admired since I was a kid, grow into the amazing guys they are today is really amazing.

Rhett and Link are such a good example of a healthy friendship between men. They love each other dearly.
Rhett and Link have better communication and understanding than 90% of relationships… who the hell is their therapists??
Stevie- 😅😂
Rhett and Link's philosophy on maintaining a healthy friendship/relationship is so heartwarming and comforting. Knowing that building a healthy friendship/relationship is founded upon solid communication and understanding is so AWESOME!! Thank you for having them on the show.
awesome and incredibly obvious
@@muchanadziko6378 I wouldn't say its that obvious unless you've been blessed with that solid foundation in your youth. Many people like myself had to learn this stuff on our own!
Why are Rhett and Link such healthy individuals?! I am a fan of them, and to continuously hear them speak so eloquently about their relationships and their feelings. They have seemed to let go a lot of toxic masculinity and it's so refreshing to see/hear.
they are like that from the beginning
Because they live, they learn, and prolly most importantly, they grow
The fact that Mythical is still investing in smosh deserves a HUGE props. This has been literally the Cinderella story of all time
The way this trully feels like an old married couple educating a younger couple who were on the rocks on how they stayed together so long that they can learn from. I love it. ❤❤
I really find it so weird how we gravitate toward familiarity without even knowing it. I mean Anthony and Rhett seem so similar and they both found this lifelong best friend even with having ups and downs and now own businesses together and they all work together. Really is such a small world, you are the sum of the people you surround yourself with
I always thought rhett and link were great reflections of anthony and ian in different ways actually
@@pinheadlarry2921 110%
@@pinheadlarry2921 Ian is like a quieter and sassier version of Link and Anthony is a more empathetic, more affectionate Rhett in my opinion 😁
@@Simonrays_1i don’t know if that’s accurate to me 😂
@@Simonrays_1i see the vision
Anthony looks so much happier and relaxed than he has in a while. I'm glad Smosh is back and ian and he both have their independence
This was much needed. Great content hands down.
I love the mentorship Rhett and Link have with Ian and Anthony, its truly beautiful and heartwarming
When Link said, "in my heart of hearts, I never felt like Smosh was ours", my own heart lit up. I had imagined how Rhett and Link might comment to that point weeks ago when the news broke about Smosh being bought back. That is exactly how I thought Link would respond. I think I watch too much GMM lol
same, rhett and link are such lovely and kind individuals, i appreciate the knowledge they share with the world
Have you watched Anthony's interview with Ian? Ian mentioned how when he met with Rhett and Link about buying back Smosh, Link immediately wanted to talk about relationship and that business would work itself out.
@@hilarys3405 I have! It was a great conversation. Hearing Link actually say the words on camera was uplifting, horse's mouth and all.
side note: rhett’s solo music project “james and the shame” is amazing and deserves so much more recognition. highly recommended listening for anyone deconverting or who has religious trauma. 10/10 will make you cry and feel less alone
Interviewing them separately was brilliant because it showed them as individuals and how it all comes together as a duo.
I love it😂
Cute. I'm also married to my best friend, like actually married in my case, but it doesn't really make too much of a difference when there is love and commitment, life doesn't provide us with enough good representation of relationships that can stand the test of time,.. no matter the type.
idk if im just dumb or what but this sentence made no sense to me
@@ngndndthat first part was worded so poorly lmaooo
@@syra1541The whole paragraph was too wordy. It could be easier to say a married man and his friend thanked two other married men friends.
I love the supportive parental stance Rhett and Link have towards Ian and Anthony, and smosh as a whole. It makes my heart happy
They are the best internet dads
This episode is couples therapy even though its not romantic. Truly makes me appreciate the friendships that Ive had in my life so far
This video really made me stand still about how incredibly talented and intelligent Rhett and Link actually are, after watching them for like a decade. And Anthony's thank you sounded so sincere, I actually shed a tear :')
I had to hold it because I'm at work lol
goosebumps. been a subscriber of both smosh and R&L for over 12 years. so happy I can relive the best internet entertainment of my life as an adult in a whole new way. thankful for Rhett and Link keeping smosh alive, and thankful for the universe bringing Ian and Anthony back together. couldn't be more at peace.
Interviewing them separately is a nice touch.
This was extremely inspirational. I love Rhett and Link and what they do!
this is so wholesome man
@RomanisRandomok, i wont
You didn't even watch it mf 😂
@RomanisRandom jokes on ya, i can read that shit.
Just three gown men talking about their needs in a friendship.
My two favorite ERB guests are Rhett and Link and Weird Al. I think they should go against each other!
This is probably the best interview you could ask from R&L because they are doing it as single and not a duo. Props to Anthony
Yea
I am just beaming with light and happiness watching this. Rhett and Link's empathy is so touching and it feels so good to see
19:52 Are you kidding me I always saw Link as the main character like a mad man, it was Rhett's job to reign him in.
And the thanking part just listening how everyone ended up lifting everyone up is just so wholesome it brightened my day
I LOVE how the already epic journey of Rhett & Link eventually ended up intersecting with that of Ian and Anthony in a super cool twist of fate... to create this awesome magical internet story.
link's smile when anthony thanked him :')
Genuine southern charm ❤
I like that in the interview they make clear link is the more chaotic and that they are both wearing the same outfit but link's wearing the more chaotic version of it
It's not that he wanted to interview them as individuals, they just didn't have an extra chair
💀 💀
😂
I remember watching their channel when I was little, like 6-7 and I love going back to see how their content has grown and evolved 🫶🏻🩷
ok
I always knew Rhett and Link were talented, but I always payed attention to the business aspect, not the personal. These men are extremely emotionally talented, balancing being a father, a husband, and a best friend full time along with a job where you have to be professional with one of those people, and stand up for yourself against someone you love when it comes to business deals.... wow. They have found the magic mix of friendship, family, romance, and business. Round of fucking applause guys, i've been watching GMM since I was eight, im now 17. My internet dads fr, I love them.
this is so exciting i watch gmm literally daily love rhett and link they got me through so much.
I know right!
Exactly
@RomanisRandomok, i wont
Picking a favorite between Rhett & Link is like picking a favorite child. They're both fabulous in different ways.
Damn, I was actually choked up a couple times during this. Just seeing the people, who I have watched and admired since I was a kid, grow into the amazing guys they are today is really amazing.
Your interview are some of the best I've seen on this platform and elsewhere. Your compassion and your empathic interview style. Keep up the great work!!
