Jay Sean's career is going to get better now. War, imo is better than Down and Do You Remember. It would be nice to see Jay Sean become the first Indian to win a Grammy. YMCMB is good because of people like Nicki Minaj, Tyga, Lil Wayne, Kevin Rudolf, and Drake. But Jay Sean is really taking that label to another level. @GetDownOrLayDown31 no, they got 85% of the royalties plus the masters, cash money is technically not a subsidiary, as their deal is strictly a distribution deal, meaning that the only thing universal does it make sure there are CD's in the stores and songs on itunes, the other aspects--marketing, production, promotion, contracts etc... is cash money. The deal was not as unprecedented as they made it seem, bad boy records (diddy) received a similar deal, less royalties but a higher money signing

cash money is a big record label but to say its the most commercial succesfull label of hip hop history thats bullshit look at bad boy, roc-a-fella, aftermath ent, death row etc

I like how this episode put a false image on Cash Money in it's entirety. There is no way in hell that these guys made money strictly off of album sales. There definitly was drugs involved. Many rappers started off from drugs.
@lukaszswoboda You obviously don't understand the mindset of wanting more. It's an image that all rappers have to keep up with. Birdman is just better at it then most rappers and he keeps making more money because he wants more money. He has an understanding of where he wants to go in life and his image plays a major role in it. Birdman keeps giving the fans what they want most. By far the most consistent record label in the industry. No one has had this type of energy or longevity.
