Yes. It was a bit weird making a strap and not knowing how it would be part of the shawl till clue 4 dropped but that was one of my favourite parts to knit. I decided to go back to my old single point needles for those skinny bits to avoid the cord getting in the way for that part. It made my progress on it faster.
Great job Karen! I love both how yours looks and how you've kept at it!! I'm sure you will finish it and it will be gorgeous. Maybe the calendar throws some seasonal knitting your way, but it's perfectly fine to take a break. Let us know what you are up to 😊
hi love your podcast and look forward 2 seeing it finished. I find I loose motivation when I know I can't possibly keep up with a month long knit along. my Twists and turns cluevone is currently hanging as art.
I've finished my shawl (and halfway through another project now) but I still like to check out everyone else doing the MKAL shawl as I've seen a lot of really nice shawls and interesting tweaks coming through now that a lot more people are finishing the shawl. There were a few people in the beginning who finished then said something along the lines of "see you next year". I think my joy is not simply keeping up with the crowd but seeing all the shawls in progress. I like looking at past shawls being done too, whether I've made them or not. Colour doesn't care about time lol. I love how your shawl is coming along. Really, everyone doing it has until we all join in again next year (of those of us who want to). Though I did get a kick out of how many people got around to finishing their prior MKAL shawls while we were all waiting for this year's MKAL lol. I've probably made my comment too long (as usual for me) but there is one more thing I'd like to say in case it helps in future. You mentioned your stitches being held by a ratty old needle you don't like to knit with making you want to change them over to the good needle. You really don't need to change them over as you can knit them off the needle with the good needle which does not require using that ratty one for the knitting. You can hold stitches with smaller sized needles and do the same too as smaller sized needles are easier to slip stitches onto and the width of the knitting needle is only important when it comes to the working needle.
Your going great and it’s looking good. You will get it finished I’m sure in time!!! If you get time I watch Amy of The Meaningful Stitch Episode 34 and she has finished her shawl and it looks amazing. Good luck Karen keep 🧶
OMG you are a trooper!!! I had to laugh when you thought end of November..no problem😂 you’re going have a stunning project! If you follow Natalie from Knitty Natty Podcast, I think she calculated close to 100 hours of knitting for this MKAL😮
Hope yarn dyeing is going well. I still have not finished my shawl - it was going to be a Christmas gift and now it has shifted to a gift in May. 😆 Just wanted to share, I am sure I am not the only one - fighting to finish. Chicago YarnCon is end of March and early April. - Hope all is going well with dogs too.
My yarn choices were not making an attractive MKAL, so I quit at clue 2....but loving everyone else's progress! Yesterday I caved and ordered yarn for the Hiberknitalong, which I have no business doing since I have gift-knitting to do until the end of January, and I signed up for the Cozy Up Knit Girls MKAL which starts January 1st 😄. I've really wanted to try Purl Soho Linen Quill for a project, but hesitated to buy any because of the exchange rate to Canadian $....but Purl Soho happens to have a sale on at the moment, so I placed an order 😀
I’m working in Clue 4. I’m modifying the end since I’m not a huge fan of chevrons. I too thought, oh I can finish in time for Kevin, Ray and Michael’s KAL. 🤞🏻🍀 hoping I can still finish in time!
Hi Karen how are you doing ? Miss your cheerful podcasts so much. Best wishes for 2023 ! 💥
I have missed seeing your podcasts. I hope all is well with you and your family.
Lovely those waves ~~~~~~~~~~ in clue 3. I like them so much ! 🙃😆👍

Yours is beautiful!! I’m still on Clue 4 too (had to put it on temporary pause to do a test knit)… hope to be able to finish in November!!

Yup…. Still working on the KAL… clue 4 for me, but I want to also do the cord decorations for the cables, so there is still lots of knitting to do!

I'm on wing 2, getting there. Clue 3 took ages, and yes I had to drop down to fix stitches too.
Missing you and hope you are well.
