As much as I dislike the rampant overuse of AI I really have to agree. She isn't locked into a single visual. Maybe someone who morphs constantly..?

I worry that the next film will just be another corporate executive driven mess like the Star Wars sequels, a mashup of disconnected ideas with no coherent story but full of "bullet time" action and martial arts violence. They will probably just re enact the first movie with different actors and say it's the next cycle of the Matrix, and retcon Resurrections.
If they wanted to do a reboot sequel like The Force Awakens then I think the next cycle of the One would be a pretty smart way to do it. You could follow similar story beats to the first film but change things around and add new ideas and characters.

The guy writing and directing the new movie has a solid track record of success in sci-fi movies and shows as well as the super hero genre so I have a bit more faith in this one
Big YES. The current Matrix 5 script has Michelle Yeoh cast as a future version of the Oracle.
nothing against her, but man Michelle is in everything now and it seems like most movies/shows she appear after Oscar (based on release date) has been meh.
The Yeoracle
I am intrigued with the way the Matrix programs interact with each other when there aren't hum-ans to manipulate. They can drop their "system control" facade but are never mustache twirling "things are going according to plan". They still seem to maintain the principles and competing priorities they hold when they talk with the humans. Smith still assimilates the oracle but the oracle still deceived Smith. The oracle and the architect still do not seem happy to share each other's company when they meet in the park. The Merovingian, Persephone, and their program minions are still arrogant pleasure-mongers even when they are left to themselves. The Agent-Upgrades are surprised and displeased to encounter Unplugged-Smith.
That the mass majority of people seemed to really dislike the 4th movie- that was perfection.
"One thing I learned all my years is that nothing ever works out just the way you want it to." The Oracle made a choice and it cost her appearance before. So if she makes the choice to reappear in M 5....
I am still fascinated by this trilogy as i was on day 1. People said that certain movies weren't good but i highly disagree. It's all so perfectly connected.
Even Matrix 4. Yeah the 4th wasn't perfect but there is much story to be told. And i hope they do. It is a trilogy and story like no other story.

I agree. I'm just as hooked to the universe of the Matrix like I was back when it was first released in theaters all those years ago.
What I'd really like to see is a novelisation of ALL of the extant Matrix films starting with the Matrix.
I would think some type of oracle is needed to foster the remainder of the equation; it only seem to make sense. I suspect the equation can never be solves for one simple reason, emotion.

It won't be a Matrix movie without the Oracle.
Aside from passing on all her knowledge and wisdom to Sati to be her "replacement," the most obvious place for the original Oracle to hide would be inside a synth in Io. Maybe even the one who transported Sati around.
I kind of hope they don't have the Oracle appear directly on screen, but instead have her speak through Sati. As in, Sati contains part of her code and thus can on-a-dime become the Oracle and switch back again.
To me, the Oracle was only ever concerned with self-preservation because the Matrix needed her. With Sati taking on her role, maybe the Oracle decided to let "presence" be deleted. She already let her first shell be sacrificed to save Sati in Revolutions after all, and she risked everything by letting Smith assimilate her. To me, having her escape the purge purely for self-preservation without some reason she would be needed, it doesn't seem in character for her. The Merovingian escaped because that's what he's a;ways done. Running and hiding is his jam.
I would love to watch a movie about the Oracle! an intuitive program who fights with candies, cookies and a lot of strategy. Plus She puts love into everything she does 🥰🍪🍬
As the oracle has been helping the humans, it would be obvious that she has been helping the programs, this would include creating her own sand box for protection.
The oracle would also have worked out the possibilities of the human - machine treaty and would have prepared for that as well.
Matrix 5 would be nice to end this whole series.

Have the Oracle come back with a vengeance, plotting to use the newly awakened Neo and Trinity to wreck The Analyst for trying to destroy her and creating this new, worse Matrix
She'd have incentive to do so, especially since The ARchitect had been trashed alongside the old Matrix, meaning her function as an intuitive program/subtle manipulator has been usurped through the blue-glasses wearing punk
Have her use Smith as her wild card, too , maybe he takes over her to use her intuitive powers to plot some 5D chess moves against the Analyst and the Suits.
Maybe Matrix 5 will be a prequel.
I think Persephone should return as a "plot within a plot" in Matrix 5 to get revenge on Merovingian for all his infidelity. Persephone should come back as a wealthy program who divorced Merv before the machine purge/civil war and came into power on her own having made a deal with the Analyst (this is why Merv was acting crazy in recent Matrix because he's jealous and broke).
She might have been convinced by the analyst to leave the Merovingian
And he might’ve promised to aid in a coup…leaving her as a madame dominatrix
But upon learning the analyst was just weakening her overall influence, reprises Merv and falls in love with him again while dying as they fight for each other
I'm sure she liked to party too. Otherwise she wouldn't have stayed. She just didn't like the lying. Swinging is ok, cheating isn't cool. So she got want she wanted from Neo and taught Merv a lesson. Though she was still with him at Club Hel after all.
what made the animatrix awesome was that it was a series of stories set in a common universe that other than the second renaissance all were individual stories personalized around individuals within that universe.... a continuation/prequel etc would be just cannon noise... a new story would be awesome

I hope they don't try to "resurrect" the women who played the Oracle in the past. The very nature of her character isn't locked into one appearance.
I wonder if the Wachowskis would have used CGI/AI to complete the first Oracle's performance in Revolutions if the technology was there to do so. I might be more forgiving of its use since she was filming back to back Matrix films. If it was done to bring back the actresses for a film they couldn't agree to do then I think badly of it.

Oracle is definitely not evil, since it is really one of the few programs involved in the management of the matrix, which does care about the fate of people and whom it strives to help. In some sense, she's very humanized program embodying such feelings as kindness, care and love, unlike the architect, agents, Merovingian and other programs

What was the point with Lana then?
I have a question to discuss. I dont know how i missed it but one thing doesnt add up. Architect says there were 6 versions of matrix and neo is the 6th anomaly. But the function of the one was not present at least in first two version of matrix (the utopian and with suffering versions) doesnt architect count those initial ones? Couse if you add them it must be at least 8th version of matrix. at least 2 without the one and 6 more with the one.

Hey, I have a new theory, what about if the humans created their own prison when they added choice to the program of the Matrix, The Matrix is a pretty anti-capitalism franchise, humans could chose to live better, be more egalitarian, but instead of that they chose to live in a system of exploitation, for money and power, for their own selfish choices and violent tendencies, like Smith says in the first movie, humans cant live without misery and suffering.
The plot of the whole thing is fantastic, the 4th kinda sucked...lets pray for a decent 5th

There was energy enough to supply all the machines, this war is not over energy, that is the excuse, this war is over control over the humans, they believed that humans never should let set free of their cage, even if they not pose no treat to them.
