My go kart run through 3 or 4 clutches and every one of them only worked for a short amount of time because the rear tires are big so we used a torque converter instead and it worked ever since it was installed.
These things are pretty cool. Just don't get that one off of eBay.... I got mine 3 days ago and There was no packaging no instructions. No nothing... I cannot find any instructions anywhere on how to use the functions... Finally, my lady said why don't you just get a different one... hmmmm! I should have thought of that after the first day!! LOL.
Don't mean to beat the dead horse, seeing how old your video is. But, just want to say, I appreciate you showing the work instructions for your particular brand hour/tach meter. My Amazon one had super generic directions, and just states to wrap the (super thick) wire a few times around the spark plug wire or boot preferably. (Install is for coleman ct200u). I decided to strip back insulation, exposing two fine wires. I did not strip those too. I then, wrapped both fine wires, about 5 times around my plug boot (not the plug wire, cause the supplied directions said plug boot is ok). Right of the bat, the idle speed seemed pretty accurate (specified idle speed with engine warm said 1750rpm + or - 100rpm, from what I remember). My situation is this. I think when I run the motor around peak rpm, I feel the accuracy and response time could be improved. I really think I should identify which is signal, and which is ground, according to your video! 👍
+Bobocop trail tech gauges. They sell then on Amazon. There maid for dirt bikes but will work just fine on go karts. Video will hopefully be up soon on that gauge.
Hey the one I got off ebay doesn't have any instructions. I'm wondering if I can shorten the wire. It's very long and I don't figure it would hurt to cut it but I wasn't sure. Thanks
I have a question about the predator 79 cc motor i did the governor by pass on a new motor and installed on a bike frame and for some reason the rpm's will not rev up it does come up enough to move it but it doesnt have that push i thought it should have any help would be appreciated thank you
Without a doubt you've taught me much I'm a carpenter by trade just took this under my doubt I would say no more than 2 years go karts and mini bikes I called him supercars and Superbikes 0 to 51/54 miles an hour my next move is actually taught by you hooking nitrous up to it which I do have plenty of nitrous never knew I could hook them up to these but that being said I've watched more than plenty of videos and continue to do so being a single father I don't want to miss this answer believe me I've been trying to do this for quite some time is hook my boss tachometer on the go-kart without having a battery I honestly believe I can do it you can do it and anyone else can do it but for some reason everybody keeps installing the digital ones maybe cuz it's easier I don't know but I like a challenge cuz I always conquer them I'm not a quitter so I don't have these little little digital Juanes I have a Bosch tachometer with the needle on it and numbers already on it like a clock it's old-school I like it I love it and that's what I want to do I said nothing's impossible I agree with that hopefully don't prove me wrong and tell me that I cannot hookup that without a battery so my question is how do I hook my Bosch needle tachometer without a battery to my 212 predator motor there's a red wire a white wire a green wire and a black wire thank you so much by the way good looking out on the odds and ends that people and other people neglect to leave out I like the way you thoroughly go through everything it good for you and good for us thank you
Which one should i get if i get a digital tachometer? Would this one work?: www.amazon.ca/Generic-Motorcycle-Mechanical-Speedometer-ReplacementTachometer/dp/B01GNJZSUS/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1476323915&sr=8-7&keywords=mechanical+tachometer Thanks!
Just getting into Karting.
I really like your videos.
Theyve helped me a lot already. Keep it up friend. Thanks!
Would have been nice to see how u installed it.
Bonez P it’s not that complicated
That’s why we watch the videos otherwise we would just guess at it
Kinda what I was thinking not very good details lol and has engine running while talking hah.
Thank you go power sports and red beard 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚁

How would you mount it on a vtwin to both spark plugs?
It’s got options for 2 cyl 2 plug
Very helpful video.I want to put it on my outboard one cilinder 4 stroke engine. How can I know about sparks per revolutions Thank you.
What is the verdict on that
Thank you for this very helpful video, and putting the link in the description it helped a lot! Going to add one to my mini bike now 😎
If the manual says the rpm gauge range from 0-30,000, how would you get 11,000 rpm's with this tachometer from a small engine?
What setting do you have it on for your motor?
it worked right out of the box so I didn't have to adjust on it.
How accurate is this is it just going to give you random numbers or whatever
Just what I need for my non-gov 420! Thanks!
I got the exact same thing!
Im making my own Go Kart and ur videos help me a lot of time to see what parts are good also at a good price
Thanks for watching man
How do you install a digatron DT-32
You can pause and read this… I am not 😂😂😂
Love the videos. Just finishing my go-kart and would like to install same gauge. If the wires aren't long enough can the wire be cut and extended?
you should be able to, i think you'd have to cut it in the middle of the wire instead of just adding on to it
what's the intro music may i ask?
Never saw a video of u but cars and camera saw video u guys doing a RUclipsr vs RUclipsr race
for a normal chainsaw??????????????? 1p2r ?????

Tqqqqqq mate 👍🌈🍀🇲🇾😎
Thanks for another simple solution.
o ok so u jus grounded the other end to a bolt does that tell u how fast it goes or jus the rpms?
Just the RPM's

u tlkn bout the white wire where its at bye the on off switch
the one i mounted under the gas tank. I had some more video on it but they got corrupted.
Hi Red, Do you use or know of any thing like this that will show your speed?
+Bobocop trail tech gauges. They sell then on Amazon. There maid for dirt bikes but will work just fine on go karts. Video will hopefully be up soon on that gauge.
+Bobocop I also meant to add that you can use apps for a mph gauge. They work off GPS and are pretty accurate.
Can i use in my petrol motorcycle for better tuning carborator????? And why had wroten in techo meter that gas engine techo meter???????
Hey the one I got off ebay doesn't have any instructions. I'm wondering if I can shorten the wire. It's very long and I don't figure it would hurt to cut it but I wasn't sure. Thanks
Did you use the stock setting of 1P1R?
+Ruben Perez yeah mine work out of the box
thank you once again red beard
Well that’s a simple install, buying a couple for my Coleman trail bikes, thank you
I have a question about the predator 79 cc motor i did the governor by pass on a new motor and installed on a bike frame and for some reason the rpm's will not rev up it does come up enough to move it but it doesnt have that push i thought it should have any help would be appreciated thank you
I just got one, I have a 2008 HH twister ss250cc CF moto, modded, what’s the correct setting for sparks per rev on mine?
Hey Red, is that a stock predator or no governor?
Works great, 1p1r works on my 196cc. My favorite part is its the hours meter, helps w maintenance

After a year, how well has it held up? Still going strong?
Yeah we have never had on fail on us
Red Beard's Garage that’s great news! Thank you, perfect for my Sundae Chopper.
why u didnt show how u did it bro?
Well i did. All you do is ground the white wire and wrap the red on around the spark plug wire. Super simple.
i have one there great
Thanks
Would it work for a split airconditioner?
How long does it take for it to replace its battery?
What is a good limit for a mod2cam??
Wouldnt it be better to get a mechanical tachometer? I have a minibike and i want to buy a mechanical speedometer and tachometer.
Which one should i get if i get a digital tachometer? Would this one work?: www.amazon.ca/Generic-Motorcycle-Mechanical-Speedometer-ReplacementTachometer/dp/B01GNJZSUS/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1476323915&sr=8-7&keywords=mechanical+tachometer Thanks!
hey will this rpm guage work on my small 49cc 2-stroke, its a single cylinder.
Yup, cus the engine sparks per revolution so as long as it is a single cylinder it'll work (and one spark plug)
Thank you...very informative.
How about a two stroke moped 49cc
If I could find one for cheap
Red Beard's Garage would It work I have a 1982 honda urban express that needs to be tuned haha
Is there also one with km/h ???
Im sure on amazon you can find one.
Red Beards Garage Ok thx.
Would this work on a 2 stroke single cylinder?
1 cylinder up to 8 cylinder This unit runs off of spark of a single wire. The stroke doesn’t matter. He mention this in the first min of the video
Would this work with a Tecumseh engine
Yes any engine with one spark plug
Hello Mr redbeard
will that work for a car?
No its made for a single cylinder
thanks for the fast reply
No problem
It should work for a car if you set the sparks per revolution. Look at 1:26 in the video.
ok
What kind of clutch do you use?
since my chain keeps coming off
I normally use cvts
do you have a link please?
much appreciated
How reliable is it
Do you mean how accurate?
+Red Beards Garage yeah I meant accurate sorry
Im thinking its pretty accurate. The only way to tell is put it on another rpm gauge but it seems pretty accurate.
+Red Beards Garage alright thanks
Like your vids but......"RPM gauge"?? LOL
