On Friday 14th September 2001, many businesses and offices in central London closed and the staff went to their nearest city church or cathedral. Our office had over 250 workers. The front desk reception had a special recorded mesaage to respond to phone calls, the building was locked up, and every one of us (including those who were not of the Christian faith) walked to church to pray for the lives lost and ruined by the 9/11 attacks. I have never seen London so quiet and subdued. That day we were with the USA in spirit in the House of God.
This horrific attack against our country will never be forgotten. God bless all of those lost that day, those who are still sick and dying because of it and all of the first responders who ran towards hell on earth that day. 🙏🙏🙏

I’m a Scot that was living in NYC at the time. I watched from Sunnyside Long Island city as the building burned and fell. I don’t think my soul will ever not react to the horror of that day or the weeks that followed. However the day after NYC was never more together.
I am American and I was in my early 40’s when it happened. I live in Mississippi which is a very long way from New York but let me tell you it affected us as much as it did everywhere else in the country and the whole world. Young lady we will never forget that day. My life changed forever on September 11 2001. I think that a majority of Americans feel the same.

I remember getting a text from my mate telling me to switch on the TV. I sat with my mouth open not understanding what I was watching until they did a recap & explained it. I didn't expect the buildings to collapse & thought they could rescue people. I know that there were ambulance, police & firefighters climbing the stairs when the buildings came down. I cried for so long I was exhausted. Although I'm British my kids live in the US. They called me an hour later & could hardly speak.
So do I. It was my Stepmum’s 55th birthday and I’d just come off shift at a local nursing home. I rang her to wish her happy birthday and she shushed me and said, “turn on your tv. Much love from the UK. I'm crying again, and it was 23 years ago. I was sitting by my dad's bedside in a hospital, because he had pneumonia and I was visiting him. Six patients in that room, and a tiny little television at one end. For a while, the only thing that interrupted the silent horror in which we were all sitting, was the patients quietly cursing.
I was 12 year's old when this happened I'd not long arrived at school when our teacher came in crying when she told us what had happened. Everyone was sent home as there was fear of more attacks happening. When i came home i put on the TV to see people falling from the building's that's when i broke down sobbing I'd never cried so much before. I knew then that everything will be different and everything changed gone was a carefree existence and now replaced with fear and uncertainty. I will never forget and it will always haunt me.

Sarah Ferguson the former Duchess of York had an office on either the 100 or 101 floor of the first tower that was hit. That morning she had gone to a television studio to do an interview. For some reason the interview did not take place at the scheduled time and was much later although I forgot how much later. I forgot if her driver had just reached the World Trade Center or if they were still driving to it when they witnessed the first plane crashing into their building. If she had been in her office that morning Queen Elizabeth would have had two more grandchildren who no longer had their mother with them. If I’m not mistaken I believe you can see Sarah Ferguson there in the 20th anniversary tribute. I believe she was present because of how much that date could have had on her life.
Being an American I was not aware that she still had her title after her divorce from Andrew. Thank you for the information. I was working in Canada Square Tower in Canary Wharf. We had big screen TV's in the office, watching the horror happening. We then all got sent home from work, as Canada Square was regarded at a high risk target due to being next to the London City Airport. I'll never forget the complete shock and sadness at what happened that day. My heart goes out to all those who died and all their families as well as the amazing brave emergency service personal who risked their lives trying to save others. I was working in the Channel Islands in offshore banking at the time and we had rhe news on the screens around the building and had a lot of colleagues and clients who worked in Canary Wharf. We were calling them asking if they were safe and everyone was in a bit of a panic and preparing to leave.
Im in the UK and was working in an operating theatre, someone popped in and told us there had been an attack after we finished our patient we went down to the coffee room were there was a tv , we had a lot of military working that day and the coffee room was full as they watched and the strangest thing was nobody said a word not one word , we all went back to work and still nobody said a word . Our dept usually full of banter was silent for the rest of the day stunned into silence by the magnitude of what was happening , after i finished my shift i walked home and saw many cars beeping horns flying muslim flags and cheering , a muslim shop owner was giving out sweets to kids to celebrate. It was a very bizarre and surreal day . Our Queen did the right thing honouring our American cousins by having the Star Spangled Banner played. 🇬🇧♥️🇺🇲

On that day I thought I lost my sister, who usually took the path train under the trade center to get to her office only a few blocks away. She was delayed by the fate of getting her daughter on the school bus. It hurts me still to this day.

We live in the USA and close to Washington D.C. and just a few hours away from New York this day of terror and grief is embedded in all of our hearts forever.

The UK's own 9/11 just four years later that it could never have imagined at the time. The attack (on three trains and a bus of London's transport network in the morning rush hour) on 7 July 2005 happened the day after London had been awarded the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. However, when it came to the opening ceremony of the Games in 2012 (one that will forever go down in memory for, amongst other things, the late and much-missed Queen herself's sketch with James Bond actor, Daniel Craig), US media were as disrespectful as to cut to Ryan Seacrest interviewing Michael Phelps during the tribute to the victims of 7/7. Talk about lack of class!

Alot of rhe uk shut down for rhe rest of the day after 9/11 happened, also all our channels were reporting on the events. Surprisingly alot of people were directly affected in the twin towners attack, they lost loved ones, friends, colleges. Even those of us who didnt know anyone who lost rheor life can remember exactly where we were when it happened. I was at work and had the radio playing when a news flash happened reporting on the event, i dont think i will ever forget the voice recordings from the passengers on the planes to their loved ones which were played over the next few days on CNN and sky news 😢😢😢
I'm really sorry to tell you that Trudi Freeman's ex-husband and father of her kids, did pass away on that day. I was pretty sure that he must have done. It was certain death that high up, if that was where he was at the time. They say he died in his office, 105th floor of the North Tower. The aircraft flew into floors 93 to 99 of that tower. I'm guessing it pretty much obliterated at least some of the staircases between those six floors. [ed: yup, no survivors above floor 92, which I'm sure you knew but I had to check my own memory] His name was Neil Robin Wright, and he was 30 years old. They married in 1996, had two sons, and at the time of the divorce the court granted him full custody of the children. Neil's mother moved to the US to help care for the boys. Just in case anybody needed it to be more depressing. /sarcasm It seemed important to share though. He wasn't just an ex-husband, he was a person.
I was in a shop at the end of my street when the aeroplanes hit the towers, they had the tv on. I ran home and watched the horror unfold. My husband joined me and held me as I cried. We watched in hope that the INNOCENT PEOPLE WORKING IN THE TOWERS WOULD BE FOUND ALIVE. RIP to those who never went home.

I am from the UK. But when the U.S was attacked it is the same as if the U.K was attacked. There is no difference. Love the U.S.A

Saddening thing is 9/11 occurred a day after my birthday: 9/10/2005! Even though I didn’t see the tragedy firsthand back then, I am terribly sorry for all the families of those who were killed in the crash! What a tragic moment!😢😞

I'm not suggesting that you should put yourself through such harrowing scenes again but please do reactions to 7/7. The UK's own 9/11 just four years later that it could never have imagined at the time. The attack (on three trains and a bus of London's transport network in the morning rush hour) on 7 July 2005 happened the day after London had been awarded the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. However, when it came to the opening ceremony of the Games in 2012 (one that will forever go down in memory for, amongst other things, the late and much-missed Queen herself's sketch with James Bond actor, Daniel Craig), US media were as disrespectful as to cut to Ryan Seacrest interviewing Michael Phelps during the tribute to the victims of 7/7.
Talk about lack of class!

It was a terrible unforgiving and most cowardly terrorist act against innocent people. My heart went out to all those who lost their lives that day, including rescuers who didn't survive. ❤ Thank you for showing this video again to remind people of how some apologies for humans can be so evil.
That awful day shocked the whole world. I had just got to work, in Australia, when i was told. I couldn’t work, went back home, watched news all day and cried a lot.
We were all as shocked as you were when 9/11 happened it was a barbaric attack. We shed our tears for America and grieved for you all. With love from the UK.

I m in England my granddaughter and wife were stuck in the USA for 2 weeks when this happened , their medical insurance had run out they were paying hotel charges out of pocket. It was a toss up if they ran out of money before the flight home
On that, I remember there were absolutely no planes in the air, no trails of exhaust. It became very real for me.
Well I can’t understand what these 3 are saying but I can tell they are touched by we Britishers concern. I myself loved New York and walked around the open air top of the South Tower. I was heartbroken watching the footage just minutes after the terrorist attack. I am often reminded of it and it makes me sad

Alot of rhe uk shut down for rhe rest of the day after 9/11 happened, also all our channels were reporting on the events.
Surprisingly alot of people were directly affected in the twin towners attack, they lost loved ones, friends, colleges. Even those of us who didnt know anyone who lost rheor life can remember exactly where we were when it happened. I was at work and had the radio playing when a news flash happened reporting on the event, i dont think i will ever forget the voice recordings from the passengers on the planes to their loved ones which were played over the next few days on CNN and sky news 😢😢😢

I'm really sorry to tell you that Trudi Freeman's ex-husband and father of her kids, did pass away on that day. I was pretty sure that he must have done. It was certain death that high up, if that was where he was at the time.
They say he died in his office, 105th floor of the North Tower. The aircraft flew into floors 93 to 99 of that tower. I'm guessing it pretty much obliterated at least some of the staircases between those six floors.
[ed: yup, no survivors above floor 92, which I'm sure you knew but I had to check my own memory]
His name was Neil Robin Wright, and he was 30 years old. They married in 1996, had two sons, and at the time of the divorce the court granted him full custody of the children. Neil's mother moved to the US to help care for the boys.
Just in case anybody needed it to be more depressing. /sarcasm
It seemed important to share though. He wasn't just an ex-husband, he was a person.
There were over 100 British people killed in the 9-11 attacks so we are also intrinsically linked to the tragedy that day.

I was in a shop at the end of my street when the aeroplanes hit the towers, they had the tv on. I ran home and watched the horror unfold. My husband joined me and held me as I cried. We watched in hope that the INNOCENT PEOPLE WORKING IN THE TOWERS WOULD BE FOUND ALIVE. RIP to those who never went home.
Love can get through anything but only if you allow it . We the People Worldwide have shown time and time again we crave the same thing FREEDOM and it can be done but it has to be together 🏴🥃
