Hi folks, it is lovely to see the whole family.
The soldiers in red are the royal guards (Grenadier Guards, Scots Guards, Welsh Guards, Irish Guards & Coldstream Guards) also the ones riding horses are the household cavalry (Life guards, Blues & Royals who guard Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and other Royal places.
When not doing this, they are deployed with the rest of the British Army, The household cavalry are an armoured reconnaissance regiment and all have many battle honours.
The Royal Navy (2 minutes) have white caps and dark uniforms and are followed by the Royal Marines (part of the Royal Navy, not the army, are wearing Pitt Helmets
The ones you thought were Navy (3mins37) were Royal Air Force in crab grey uniforms.
The others are various regiments in the Army.
I hope this helps when you watch more of the same.

This was a selection of parades but after the Coronation and the parade was ready to move off ONE man gave the command to 'Quick March' and 4,000 soldiers, sailors and airmen and women all stepped off together, on the same drum beats from all the bands who played the same sequence of marches all the way to Buckingham Palace. Amazing to see and they kept it solid the whole way.
There was a whole contingent of Commonwealth forces there as one unit and of course it was all led by the Canadian Mounties.

  • @beth3541

A lot of people think the soldiers in red are just a tourist attraction, but they are the most elite, highly trained in combat soldiers ( the lovely guy on the left of you all is correct, they're the ones who guard Buckingham Palace.
The monarch, HM King Charles, is the head of the British Armed Forces and is known as the Commander- in - Chief. He has the power to declare war if necessary.
When HRH Prince William, in the fullness of time becomes King, he will take that role/title. All members of the Royal family have served in the armed forces.

You need to look up , ‘ the battle of Bamber Bridge’ American troops shot their black troops in Bamber Bridge a village near Preston in Lancashire…. The Americans wanted pubs to ban their black troops and so the pub owners decided to ban the white American troops by putting a sign in the window saying, ‘ black troops only’ the American military olive tried to drag their black troops out and were beaten off by British troops, including British female military. Later on the American military police came back and shot a black soldier in the back arrested the other black troops and locked them up after sentencing them. That happened with black American troops stationed in Australia and New Zealand … protected against their own officers.

What you see with the soldiers in red with bear hats are them performing their ceremonial role. Their ultimate duty is to protect the Monarch and the Queen adored them. If you watched her funeral, it was their colours that King Charles placed upon her coffin just before it was lowered into the vault.
