This is the only video on RUclips on the bypass valve actuator...great video. I am throwing a P2493 on my 2016 6.7 and assuming this is the issue, and I checked the EGR Valve and it is clean and closed and the solenoid works. Hope this is fix..... thanks for showing the electrical test too!!!!!
that code means that you could have gunk stuck on your bypass valve it doesn't mean it has a short, first check the passages if they are not full of carbon build up over time you can do the test like I did at the end to see if u valve moves when u open the switch
Thanks so much for the reply. I checked the bypass solenoid and even replaced it with another working one. While the cables were undone the butterfly valve was smooth and free of restrictions when opened and closed by hand. I then reattached and watched the solenoid motor turn the valve at start up with no issue. If I did not clean my heater core at the intake could that cause the P2493 or is the code specific to the bypass valve? I have no turbo boost acceleration loss. EGR cooler and valve was just cleaned 3 mo ago. I checked the EGR valve again removing the solenoid and is clean with movement. Thanks so much for your help such a hard code to find troubleshooting on. Appreciate your help.
FYI went by the dealer and spent a half an hour talking with the mechanic who did the original work, as I know him well and trust him over the years of work he has done. He said congrads on the solenoid switch out and told him I had help (gave you the credit) he said given the miles on the truck age of the bypass valve he would recommend switching it, and said it should remedy the issue. Just thought I would post a sincere thanks for the help and reply. Cheers.
you will need to do a deep diagnostic that code means you have an open circuit the quick way is to disconnect the connector and check if you have 12v and your ground present. the black wire is ground all time and the brown with gray is power when u open the switch the other 2 are communication directly to the ecu. if u have your ground and 12v present then most likely your module might be burned inside. i have changed so many of these motors already and there is an updated part for all 6.7s
@@JVFIXLLC fixed the EGR bypass vale motor I got one on the classifieds for 20$ came with cooler egr valve and the by pad valve where do you get all your wire diagram at now I am having a U010C code I need to test my turbo actuator wires not sure what one is power ground and can high and can low thanks
that code is also related to the cooler bypass valve. code P245B and related codes P245A, P245C, and P245D are associated with the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler bypass control circuit. Read more at: www.obd-codes.com/p245b Copyright OBD-Codes.com
HI, Liked the video. I just had the p245c code come o tonight. I had installed led ight which was causing all kinds of electrical issues when i would turn the headlights. i turned the back and forth a few times to clear codes. Drove for like 15 miles. Code hasnt comeback. Anyway it could of threw the code and not really a problem. Since it didnt come back on.

Hi I am having 245 A code how would you test the plug with a voltmeter and does the truck have to be on to test the plug thanks for the video

it can also occur if the battery was discharged. if u had the code it could be an indication that the motor could go bad later.
Hay bro great vid thanks your channel rocks. What king of meter is that
Thanks a lot for watching. Really appreciate it.
