You started with the most bittersweet performance by Elvis. If you delve into his catalog & life, you will find a lot to love. He's iconic for good reason.
Mike Handley, Emmy Award-winning TV/radio spokesman & film narrator, said:
"When healthy and serious, he was flat-out the world's greatest singer. In his voice, he possessed the most beautiful musical instrument, and the genius to play that instrument perfectly; he could jump from octave to countless other octaves with such agility without voice crack, simultaneously sing a duet with his own overtones, rein in an always-lurking atomic explosion to so effortlessly fondle, and release, the most delicate chimes of pathos.
"Yet, those who haven't been open (or had the chance) to explore some of Presley's most brilliant work - the almost esoteric ballads and semi-classical recordings - have cheated themselves out of one of the most beautiful gifts to fall out of the sky in a lifetime.
"Fortunately, this magnificent musical instrument reached its perfection around 1960, the same time the recording industry finally achieved sound reproduction rivaling that of today. So, it's never too late to explore and cherish a well-preserved miracle, as a simple trip to the record store will truly produce unparalleled chills and thrills, for the rest of your life; and then you'll finally understand the best reason this guy never goes away."

Elvis appeared ill on his last 1977 shows due to multiple health issues such as high blood pressure and liver damage. His dependence on prescription drugs further worsened his condition. And despite all that, his voice is amazing, unparalleled.

don't forget the twisted colon (very painful), glaucoma, liver disease, so even though he was dependent on the meds, he did have reasons for taking them. For this reason I put him in a different category than artists like Beatles, Stones, Hendrix, who all used drugs for recreation.

If I Can Dream *68 comeback, special, white suit version :-) you will not be disappointed❤❤ his tribute to his great friend Martin Luther King Jr. Elvis grew up in Tupelo and Memphis poor black ghetto’s, and he went to a black church. He often commented that he knew very few white kids when he was growing up. The way that Black people were being treated in 1968 Absolutely broke his heart! If you get a chance to look up the house that Elvis is born in, it’s nothing more than a two room shack in Tupelo. His dad also did a couple of years in prison for check fraud. There’s so much more, like one of the sweet inspirations, his female backup singers, is Whitney Houston’s mom.❤❤❤

Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and listen and truly take in and understand what Elvis was going through at this stage in his all too short life and career. Many others just make comments about his weight, but you didn't just jump in and be judgemental. You felt the emotion of the situation and the performance and appreciated the effort he put into it for us, his fans. He never let us down, even when he was so ill that he shouldn't really have been performing. He was very ill at this point and, yes, he was bloated as you said (not fat from overeating as others would imply), but his amazing voice never left him.
Thank you so much for this great reaction. Now you really should go back and look at more performance from the greatest entertainer that ever lived - and, yes, he was an all round entertainer, not just a singer. He was also a kind, caring, generous and humble human being, as you have already begun to notice. He loved his fans and always had time for us and we loved him back and we still love him 47 years after his sad and untimely death ❤
You asked for any suggestions. Well, here are links to a couple of songs for you to start with. Firstly, the most powerful and passionate performance ever. This is 'If I can Dream' from his '68 Comeback Special and I'm sure many others will recommend this one and we will tell you more about how this song and this performance came about if you react to it ruclips.net/video/u-pP_dCenJA/видео.htmlsi=NHs2x1vflEZRdXC5 (make sure you watch the performance where he is wearing the white suit). Here's a link to his live performance of 'In The Ghetto' another song with very meaningful lyrics that, unfortunately, still rings true today ruclips.net/video/2Ox1Tore9nw/видео.htmlsi=413CaGiX9yEoHPub
I can assure you that you will thoroughly enjoy diving down this rabbit hole and many Elvis fans (including myself) will come along with you for the ride - the long ride, that is, as he recorded over 700 songs, and made 31 movies, a couple of documentaries and several TV appearances. Enjoy.... 😊

    - - - - something unexpected occurred in Elvis' last couple years of life. The closer he got to the end, the more power he had in his voice. Just compare 1972 elvis against 1977 elvis of the same songs, and you'll see a marked increase. Although ill at his last show, he definitely still had it right up til the end.

I saw him in concert the month before this. It was 05/20/1977, and I was age 15. I have been to a vast number of both rock and country concerts, including the shows of numerous absolute legends. The Elvis concert eclipsed them all. It was a multi-sensory experience. There were no light shows, pyrotechnics, or other such things. There were only the singers, musicians, and spotlights. Of course, there was no Autotune. Visually, his showmanship was unmatched, auditorially, not only was his voice unmatched, but recordings and videos cannot begin to capture the musical experience, with his voice backed by an unparalleled rhythm section, a choir of back-up singers, and a full-fledged orchestra. Then, there was also the physical sensation of the music on one’s body, especially with J.D. Sumner’s bass voice causing literal vibrations of one’s chest. All the musical elements combined to fill the arena and completely wrap around the listener. The smell of popcorn was there too, and made it a complete 5 sense experience. That is not all, however. On top of all that, the preconcert anticipation, the dramatic entry to the stage, with the theme from “2001, a Space Odyssey,” which only Elvis could have pulled off in legitimate fashion, the indescribable electrical atmosphere in the arena, and the other-worldly charisma that Elvis exuded made that experience seem almost unreal, as I reflect back upon it. It was an amazing experience that cannot be reproduced. There are some very good Elvis tribute artists, but the actual experience will never be recaptured.

This was the last time Elvis was filmed in concert, his last concert took place a few days later on July 26th 1977, he would die just 6 weeks later aged 42. In the 7 years of touring during the 70s he performed over 650 concerts, which is equal to spending 2 years on stage every single day. That was an exhausting schedule by any standards. Elvis was physically exhausted, suffered from a number of medical conditions, from glaucoma, colon disease and more. He needed a break, he needed to take time to recover and re invent himself again. However despite his health and weight he packed the concert venues and gave everything he had to his fans. Truly an amazing performer and human being.

Not his last concert, but his last live recorded concert...8 weeks later Elvis passed away, he was only 42 years old...He looked bloated sometimes because of the prescription drugs and steroids injection. Just like many other popular music performers, Elvis was a heavy user of several prescription drugs including sedatives, barbiturates, and opiates. His health started to deteriorate and his manager overworked him instead putting Elvis in the hospital. Despite all that he was amazing and loved his fans deeply. Elvis is beautiful inside and out. He was definitely unwell, and unfortunately, addicted and high here on prescription drugs and overworked. Technically, he died from a heart attack at 42. I’ll go find his recording with Sun Records that made him a regional star in the South. Eventually, RCA Victor bought his contract out and he recorded the song that made him an international superstar. I’ll link it as well. If you get a chance, watch the 2022 Elvis movie to get a great grasp as to who he was. I saw the movie and it made me into a huge Elvis fan. Been going down the Elvis rabbit hole ever since. in the throws of heart failure, colon fcked, gluchoma (nearly blind), lungs fckd, depression etc etc - absolutely done and should never have been up there - was on so much meds for so many illnesses (and did become addicted to the pain killers as a result) and because he never complained, was labelled a junkie. Was excessive with them and his food as well, but only things which made him happy at the end was eating and being up there singing - poor guy and has never been recognised for his amazing voice because of his good looks, charisma and then decline in his appearance. And ye his cant of a manager worked him to the bone and all his hangers on / spongers were happy to sit back and let him to suppliment their lifestyles

If you wanna watch Elvis, bumping and grinding at the height of his career in the 50s, then you must watch jailhouse rock from the movie jail House rock. It’s considered the classics of all time in rock ‘n’ roll history, then move on from there. You play over your subscription base will skyrocket. I guarantee you.

Elvis had a number of health conditions. Enlarged colon, high blood pressure, obesity and severe constipation. Yes he had medications in his system at the time he passed but the amount was not enough to cause an od and due to his know health issues and the room he was found in, it's a good assumption he was trying to use the bathroom and his heart stopped. Official cause is listed as a heart attack

Elvis had a lot of health issues, plus being over worked. If you' ll notice his weight gain only started in the last 3 years of his life

The voice is Elvis 100%. But why do I see AI shit on his face. I fucking hate this AI trying to rewrite our history. If you use AI then it's goodbye.

Elvis had completed 2-3 uptempo songs just prior to the start of this clip. He was using this “speaking” space to get his breath back. There is no doubt that he was very ill at this juncture requiring a great deal of medication, which got out of hand.
