As a 3D pilot the motor remapping addition is very welcome thank you.
When it works. On my JHEMCU AIO on bf 4.4.3 I couldn't remap... out of some reason.
I don't race, but IO is a blast.
My slope gliders are big enough not to be affected by the added weight of RID but many of my powered planes are just over 250g, adding any extra weight is not desirable, using smaller batteries to accommodate the extra weight is the only option. PITA

Flight controller on a wing??? Nooo... wings are for *flying*. You need to embrace the forces of aerodynamics, not fight them with a flight controller!
I flew the fc wing this weekend. Never flown a non drone craft before and I was able to pick it up and fly no problem
im a shit pilot and a shit builder, without FC this wing flies like crap :) With FC im able to put this wing into tight places the wing doesn't belong to :)

Hdzero screams at GPS. I had to move my VTX and antenna to the front of my 7” to get reliable gps. Nothing else worked for me. Love the stream

Grim-copper tape on the gps wires with a wire soldered to it and on a ground pad. It’s the tape stained glass people use. There’s some tutorials on yt. Been working on my 7” for at least a year
So you can get your glideer to fly few kilometers, you need like 20m of string and a little bit of wind, its like kite, but once its high you deatach string. I used to build those as a kid, some were found kilometers away :)
Some of those toy gliders have battery powered motors

INAV rth is so good now. Acro is great. the UI is the same just different. Both BF and INAV have come so far.

Excellent podcast! I had a very similar issue with the GPS on my flywoo explorer lr4 with HDZ Freestyle v2. With the USB cable plugged in I would get all the satellites, as soon as a battery was plugged in and the vtx powered on, they would all vanish. I tried to wrap the gps wires in copper tape, reroute away from the VTX, move the vtx antenna, replace the GPS, and more but nothing worked. I moved the gps to the front of the drone above the camera and that fixed my issue. I think HDZ messes with the sensitive GPS antenna.
Well I wrapped the gps wires in copper tape and also mounted the gps on the right side of the quad between the front and rear motor, and it works perfectly, then I also switched to iNav and it works great
@@grimripperrr Nice! I think 4.5 may fix it too. I know bardwell had that video where he showed how to update the Library on m10 GPS devices

Emax Ecos are amazing fixed wing motors. Light, efficient, and cheap.
Bardwells yard is now FRIA. BUT like all FRIA's, if you're making money from flying drones, then you still need remote ID.
You can solve that easily, the flying is free but chairs are 10-dollar rentals.
love you guys. Ivans "Id be as good as Minchan if I just flew as much he did" was prettty funny. Like yeah maybe, but the fact he puts in the work to fly 50 packs a day is the impressive part not the superhuman reaction speed. I also have to say id disagree with this new sentement that all motors feel the same but thats just me. I feel diffrences even between diffrent batches of the same motors, but im also pretty ocd. Keep em coming guys!
of course full respect to Minchan for flying that much, it takes serious passion and dedication. Didn't try to talk him down, just saying that almost everyone could be just as good as him with enough stick time.

I've had excellent performance from the cheapest gps modules like tbs m8.2 over the years. I have found it's very susceptible to wifi or bluetooth being transmitted from a gopro or insta360 cam so I just make sure I have enough sats before turning cam on.

Bardwell tried to get a FRIA for his property and they said no. ItsBlunty change the wording to make the FAA happy, and he was approved. They also approved a property that is a business. The business had nothing to do with the request and it still was approved.

Hey @grimripperr, your satellite problem may be Betaflight release candidate 4.5. Try Downgrading to 4.4 and it'll work!! I had the same issue bro.
This was one of the most entertaining videos to date. May I suggest we do a invite one random pilot per episode to join in? mebe? I would be interested. We could do a screener to see if it would work for you? I dont know. pitching ideas.
11:30 I just flew EMAX Eco II motors over the lake 😅 I've had a ton of EMAX motors and nothing has ever showed me that they're any better or worse than other brands (speaking durability). I don't fly them exclusively by any means, just highlighting my experience. I'm sure you're right about using them for freestyle, I rarely go on concrete.
I agree, if you can build a drone versus going to store amd buyimg dji pre built you should be in differnt class. BUT, how do yiu regulate and determine that

4:39 ALL RC aircraft over 255g has to have RID. That is a big part of the BS of the RID... but its ok UTM will be worse and more oppressive for us. Even if RID gets delayed indefinitely, it will just be because it is just going to become UTM.
they can't even figure out remote ID. UTM is a pipe dream.
