    I am musician from Russia and I purchased TC Helicon Perform VK.
    I don't know why but my device doesn’t work as it described in manual:
    - AUX can be muted only with INST-IN;
    - the harmony is recognizing from both INST-IN and AUX at the same time.

    I just wanted to use this device as mixer also, but now I need additional mixer :-\
    Nobody nowhere write about these features, the manual says it should work another way.

    Can you say me, please, is it engineer mistake? Is manual incorrect? Or if I have defective device?

    Thank You.

    These videos are super helpful, since the manual has a lot of omissions and the device operation is non-intuitive. Beyond that, there are a couple of HUGE shortcomings in this device compared to earlier TC-Helicon devices. 1) There is no "Lead Mute" so that the vocal mic input can be muted at the output (only effects are sent to the mixer). Most quality TCH devices do have this feature (Dual Mono Mode or Lead Mute on/off). 2) Three presets only?! This is much too limiting for a serious live performance device (unless you are playing 3 songs!) My VoiceLive Play GTX, for example, has 235 presets! After spending a lot of time with a Perform-VK, I'm selling the darned thing. Its fun in the living room,
    but not ready for gigs.

    Hello, I have just bought the TC Helicon Perform VK. In addition to the Harmony effects, I would like to use the megaphone/telephone effects in particular. This is supposed to work with an app. However, I can't find it in the Google Play Store.
    I have also installed the VoiceSupport2 software on my Win10 PC. Unfortunately, I haven't found any documentation for it. The software finds the device that I have connected via USB and MIDI. But I can't manage to get a megaphone effect on the device so that the effect is audible.
    Can anyone help me?

    Hi Elli, (Hope I'm spelling your name right). Love the way you teach. You remind me of Jennifer Aniston. So cute! I know this video is 4 years old, but I just got my Helicon VK and now just have to order my connections since this older model doesn't have XLR to XLR but learning so much from you. Keep the videos going. You're great!

    Hi Elli, I know you created this video 4 yrs ago but if you're still looking at your comments, I have a question. Can I use the "instrument out" (on the back of the helicon) to connect to an audio interface which in turn connects to my iMac? I basically want to use computer software to refine my vocals and keyboard track. Thank you!

    You videos are quite helpful, and thank you for that! But the Perform VK user manual is horribly vague!!! I guess the technical writing staff at TC Helicon is assuming those who buy these products already know how to use it, and don't need stinkin' manuals! I downloaded the manual and was impressed with the MIDI implementation. I needed a smart harmonizer and of the different perform options, this is the only one that meets my needs. I purchased it for my home studio use, for writing songs with a friend and fellow musician and when I want to learn and/or play covers at home for possible future gigs. I set three different presets for the different harmony schemes, but I use program changes for the preset buttons and four of the continuous controllers, CC#21=Harmony button, CC#22=Delay (or Echo) button, and CC#23=Reverb button. I also set CC#81=Talk button 64 at the end to turn the Talk button on at the end to mute whatever effects may be active so I can talk over the mic between songs and not have to think about it. I have a track in each song on my Cakewalk DAW dedicated specifically to the VK. I'm actually a guitarist, but I have keys and a drum machine all driven by Cakewalk MIDI sequencing. The VK channel has MIDI chordal performance data for the VK to set the harmonies, and the program changes set up the start or switch between the three different harmony schemes while the CCs turn on the different effects and turn the harmonies off and on during the song performance via the DAW. MIDI is a powerful tool, and this product does work nicely with it considering the price. Set it up with a fully functional MIDI foot controller (like the MIDI Mate for example) and you can really expand the possibilities for live performances keeping your hands free!
    Now with all of that rambling done, I see that the MIDI CC list in the manual lists quite a few CCs that can control this unit. I think that the manual should have at least an in depth addendum on MIDI with this product and a demonstration video going over the power of MIDI with this unit. I understand the CCs this unit responds to, like bending harmonies with the pitch wheel but it would be nice to see it in action in a video. I've been using MIDI pretty much since its inception in the 1980s (yes, I'm old, but not Santa Claus old... yet) and I'd like to think I can hold my own with it. But I've learned over the years that different instrument manufacturers implement MIDI in different ways, and I'm always learning...
    Peace!!!

    Dear Miss, I am trying to record on iPhone/android using the USB to Lightning/ C Cables. No luck with recording. Some time it connects and some time it doesn’t!. I have tried all the options available to resolve this issue. Nothing seems working. I am using iphone14 plus. If I buy a go guitar and use one of the quarter inch that is 6.5mm mono cable , will this resolve the recording problem on mobile devices while using perform vk.

    Hi!
    I just bought a TC Helicon Perfomance VK and I would like to know how to do the connections on a digital soundcraft ui16 soundboard.
    I'm using my keyboard Roland FA-O6B with an inhalambric Shure microphone. I'm an amateur singer and piano player at church.
    I love the Perfotmance VK, works great for our small church, but I don't know how to do the connections correctly...
    Anyone can help me?

Can you explain the inputs and outputs in detail?. 2. Can I use this directly to a DAW like reaper? Or, do I need the interface like my Focusrite?

    • @rodtompkins
      @rodtompkins 5 лет назад

      The VK can create vocal harmonies based on audio via the instrument inputs, Aux input or even the built-in RoomSense mic, deferring to them in that order. MIDI works the best if you have it, but the audio detection method works surprisingly well an alternative. After a decade of using MIDI only for my TC-Helicon devices, I'm now using the instrument inputs because my new keyboard doesn't have standard MIDI jacks.

      Hi there, sorry to hear you're having trouble with the Perform-VK. I recommend backing up any presets you wish to save using VoiceSupport 2 and then factory reset the Perform-VK by powering on the unit while holding the Harmony and Echo buttons simultaneously. Let me know if this resolves the latency issue.
