Well since you are in the key of C, a few extensions are possible on the D7. Like the #11 as you mentioned since its part of the melody. In the backing track they're using the 13 as well. like wise the 9 would also work.
D7b5 is the solution. :) You can play the Whole Note Scale to get it thought at solo so the notes makes: Rout, 9, major 3rd, b5, #5, dominant 7th. Good Luck :)
Once again, a fantastic backing track. Any chance in you posting a comping lesson for this one? I would love to learn what you are doing here; it’s something really lacking in my playing.

very nice recording ; I would have appreciated a little change in the drumpart : ride instead of brushes, in order to get some variation of intensity !! very clean work anyway ! thank you !!
Yes. My new backing track will be like that, but the brushes are great for pedagogy work : very easy to follow. The ride cymbal sounds more "real jazz" but can be hard for intermediate players. ruclips.net/video/jdEGVdgpSik/видео.html
This seems simple yet complex. Can anyone explain or share a link to tablature or another video that shows what this looks like. I've just been using my ear but I'm missing
@@maxmoves64 I don't know anyone that practices a fade out though. It's weird to be soloing or playing the head and the music just gets quieter and you don't play an ending
@@IsaacWstawac yes I know what you mean. I count it in my head and then do a turnaround. These are great backing tracks and good for practising melody and arps. Ending is played just once.

Thank for your fantastic work in your web and sharing it
That D7 should be a #11, considering the melody lands on it.
i play it as a half dim
@@TheMrMurtle but thats still not the right chord
TheMrMurtle A half dim has a minor third in it

What does the percentage mean?
Repeat previous chord
Can some explain the percent % sign?
It just means to use the same chord as in the previous measure.
