    I just had this procedure done 3 days ago. I was surprised that I haven’t had any pain to speak of. I still have my very back molars left (I had the top arch done). Right now I’ve got the temporary bridge in until the implants heal, but my dentist is very pleased with my progress so far. And the shape of my lower face has changed - I had really crooked teeth, and now that I have a normal top bite, my entire face looks different! This is a wonderful procedure, and my dentist was so certain I needed this, he didn’t charge me for the implants. I was supposed to have a partial bridge on top, but he decided I would benefit more from the implants. It was a huge surprise to go in and be told I was getting the implants at no extra charge! He told my husband he’d been wanting to perform this procedure for a long time, and he’s really pleased with my response thus far!

      Dr Gurs Sehmi
      I really am pleased with the results thus far. The only downside was I couldn’t have hot tea for a few days. I broke down and had several cups today. My dentist had me switch to hot compresses today, so I figured it was ok to have tea.
      The facial swelling was extreme for about 30 hours, but I woke up next morning with practically no swelling. Today was even more dramatic, and I look younger as well!

If I were able to have one wish, anything, granted it would be this.

      I just finished getting the All On 4 and I'm from Tennessee. I was sedated had all teeth extracted on top and 4 implants placed same day. Had some bruising and swelling but little pain. Wore a denture for 5 months and healed then got a temp fixed bridge and wore 6 weeks. Wore that until final bridge was being made. I chose Phanares 2 teeth from Ivoclar Vivadent. I still had my original bottom teeth and on those I had veneers. Total cost 52 grand. I love my new smile. I had an awesome team and no major problems. It took 8 months for it all to be completely finished. But I can eat corn on the Cobb and basically everything I could eat with my real teeth..even more now! Had it done at Premier Dental in Milan Tennessee.Amazing Dr.Arnold and wonderful nurses.

    • @ondi37
      @ondi37 5 лет назад

      Zirconia doesn't have any acrylic in it. It is as hard as a diamond and you have a very strong bite force so you have to be careful chomping down on food. They are also the most expensive to get and the most expensive to repair if they break.

    Hi, would this change the shape of your jaw at all? Making it smaller?
    Thanks.

    • @drgurssehmi
      @drgurssehmi  5 лет назад

      No, although bone removal is a part of this treatment, it's not the bone that gives your jaw is shape. So the chin stays in a similar position. However, by increasing the length and position of the teeth, it is possible to "open the bite" this can give the illusion of bringing the chin in, and jaw smaller. Experienced dentists will be able to plan for this and make it look natural.

    Hi I'm a dental tech . for 46 years.We find with immediate dentures there's usually a lot of change in the first few months. We do mostly over dentures and find they have to be redone a few months later.Do your have problems with food getting trapped under a fixed all on four. Thanks Larry

    • @drgurssehmi
      @drgurssehmi  4 года назад +1

      Yes, there is always a lot of change in the first few months, which is why I don't get why some dentists make the final restoration in a month! Food tapping is an issue for some patients, but when a gap develops it's very easy to clean and food trapping is less of an issue.

    Yes, but Is this 6 month set ur permanent set?
    I’m getting all on 4 in 4/25 and I’m nervous.
    I want to be clear:
    I WILL HAVE A TEMP SET FIRST. THEN MY PERM SET. IS THAT BECAUSE OF THE DECREASE SIZE ( SHRINKING) IN GUM SIZE??

    • @drgurssehmi
      @drgurssehmi  5 лет назад +2

      Yes, the gums can change shape and the implants need time to integrate or heal first.

    My dentist said he WONT do General anesthesia b/c he said it will take TOTAL about 6-8 hours. He said that a TWILIGHT , under the tongue anesthesia. NOT JUST LOCAL. also I DONT have my back teeth. Only 5 up front so I was able to “try on” the prosthetic... is this the same?
    How often should I water pick and what’s this about peroxide??

    • @drgurssehmi
      @drgurssehmi  5 лет назад +1

      Hi, I wouldn't do general for my patients, but very occasionally I will offer sedation, which is slightly different. Normally we start the procedure at 9am, the surgical stuff that needs anaesthetic is finished by 1130 or 12, after that it's just connecting your teeth to the implants, this can take a few hours but there should not be any pain at this stage. I'm not sure what the try in is, different dentists do it slightly differently and use different names for the stages

    These videos are fantastic! I am starting the All on 4 process in 2 days with the initial impressions and photos. Luckily I was able to source a practice local to me that does everything from start to finish in the same office....Cost appears to be significantly higher here as my course of treatment will be right at $32,000 US Dollars.

    • @drgurssehmi
      @drgurssehmi  5 лет назад +1

      It is a life changing treatment, and it goes really well in the vast majority of cases, I hope you are one of those! The cost is so variable - is your treatment for upper and lower teeth? If its single arch, then you are probably getting individual ceramic teeth, with premium implants and an experienced surgeon - I would always recommend paying more for these things! Good luck!

    • @scottbowman8157
      @scottbowman8157 5 лет назад +1

      I am actually having both upper and lower done. As to your comment about this procedure being life changing. I am 50 years old and have had more dental procedures than I can count to try and salvage/save my original teeth. Crowns, Root canals, bridges, fillings etc..Words cannot describe how excited I am to finally have a uniformly aesthetic smile without pain nor discomfort. I am trying to keep my expectations in check and realistic as I know this will not be the same as having natural teeth. As for the cost. As I mentioned previously I have had loads of work done with a lot of it done in Mexico. The fees were attractive and treatment time frames significantly less than in the US. However, I believe my choice of chasing value as opposed to quality of work have contributed to where I am now in this nearly life long dental journey. So I would agree with you that doing this on the cheap is not a viable plan. Thank you again for your posts! They have helped me make informed choices and relieve some of the stress associated with a procedure of this magnitude.
