Can the big nut on the side of the Champion compressor be removed...The nut where the air copper line screws into the fitting...It might also be called a "bushing"?
Just to ask the question of, why choose the 230 volt motor vs the 208 volt motor for basic home/shop use, if both motors are 7.5 hp? I understand the more power, but is it really needed?
I would get a spare tank..leave the smaller port..alone..it's on wheels .. body work you do in your shop you can have 3 guys on sanders with what you have now if you installed.a 120 gal.. spare tank..check out this brand. Sayor Beall compressor..units amarican iron..made in Michigan...they use beldor moters..only. Check out there factory tour on utube..
Yeah I heard they were good motors they just aggravated me because I was told I'd be getting a Baldor. They originally put a WEG motor on it and I made them take it off. Lol
What pressure do you guys have your 80 gallon tanks set to turn back on at? Mine is set to stop at 165psi and kicks back on at 140psi some people say that’s too close together
I bought a champion 3 years ago. It was advertised as made in the USA. When I recieved it , It had the designed and assembled in the us sticker too. It was disapointing. I try to buy American made if possible. I wish I would have got a saylor beall or quincy.
the saylor beal is not in the same league as the quincy or champions. Their valves are alot smaller, and not up to the same industrial durability as a quincy. But if you're looking to save money then get the saylor beal.
@@addictedtopussy69 quincy is like buying big lots or dollar store now so saying saylor beall has small valves true but cant handle industrial ummm can u sell me a bag of what your smoking ? Quincy went downhill in a big way and it sucks but there older models is what to have but nothing 2017 and up total junk even quincy knows it
@@AdamOutlaw87 As far as i know unless proven otherwise, the higher end quincy and champions still made in America. Only their economy lower end models are made in china. Gardner Denver high end model is completely overseas now unfortunately.
Hey! Nice compressor I am looking to upgrade ours. How has this held up? I've been looking into this champion and the Quincy 7.5 with maxx package that has the after cooler and all the bells and whistles this has. What do you think about getting a Quincy? Was that a option for you?
Do some more research before making a video please!!!! That's a 7.5hp single phase motor!!!!! That's what you paid for!!!!!! I hope you didn't plumb in those cheap tanks you were talking about because for one that garder Denver/ champion R15B two stage reciprocating pump can build up to 200 psi!!!?? That little 28 gal tank would only rate 135 psi max!!!! If your pressure switch fails and builds past 135 psi???? You will have a bomb and a wall missing in the process!!!!! That tube you mistook for the AIR CHARGE COOLER is called a discharge cooler for the two stage!!!!! That pulley is called a flywheel... That magnetic switch is called a starter!!!! That pump has been the same design since the 50s you paid for the quality and there is no china parts in that setup!!!! I can guarantee you that!!!!! American crank, flywheel, bearings, valves and castings... I know where 4 of that same setup is only horizontal same pump and motor and has been in that shop since 1988!!!!! Only in 2015 I put new valves in it.... I have serviced Quincy, IR, Curtis, sailor Beall and many others and this setup will last you a long time if you take care of it...
tc tc go back and watch the video again, because that is the first thing that I said. "This is 7.5 horse power single phase motor and a 2 stage R-15 pump!" And as far as your comment about plumbing in my smaller tanks it can be done safely just GOOGLE Pressure Regulators and Pop Off Valves and besides my pump is not set to reach 200 psi even though it can. My champion cuts off around 155 psi and then I have my first regulator set to 90 psi so know your facts before you start assuming things. As far as the tube that I mistook I corrected myself in the video I was trying to focus on my phone and explain at the same time. And as far as me referring to the flywheel as a pulley it is essentially a crank pulley with a built in fan. Are you gonna start crying over Tomato or Tamato or Pecan or Peecan! LMFAO You must just be really crazy because I did call that Magnetic Switch a starter!!! Now to address the dumbest thing you said! In your comment you wrote "there is no china parts in that set up!!!!!" well I hate to burst your bubble but the new Champion compressors are full of foreign made parts you Moron. The sticker on my compressor says "Designed and Assembled in the USA" (((((((NOT)))))))) Made in the USA!!!!!!!! If you can prove me wrong I will personally kiss your ass on RUclips! My 2nd Champion compressor had a WEG brand electric motor on it and my 3rd Champion compressor which is the one in the video has a Marathon Electric motor on it. Plus I was told that the bearings were made in china along with metal the pump was made from and even parts of the Eaton brand "Magnetic Starter". This is not the 1950's anymore! Call Champion and ask them if they are 100% American Made, here is the number (888) 436-5499 for ya. I have already done did my research!
@@matthewmeltonTEAMMELTONFISHING I just purchased this same compressor and wondered why I got the marathon motor.. The pressure switch could fail on anything and be deadly, I could also walk out my door every day wondering if I'm gonna get hit by a bus. You might wanna call Champion because this isn't 1988 anymore, several of the components are made in china. Hell they have stopped putting Baldor motors on the compressors now and have started using Marathon. They dont make Compressors like they use to. Anyways thanks for watching;)
Nice setup. Dont u think champion should do better then putting those rabbit cage bars on the pulleys? You know they could do better and make a nicer cage
I was totally disappointed with Champion because they used a weg motor on my Compressor when I specifically asked the company I purchased it from and they said it would be a baldor. Everything is getting cheaper made nowadays. Thanks for watching, please like and sub. ;) oh and most definitely they could have made the cage nice for sure.
I found them at a flea market in Kentucky I'm not sure the name of it though. Check Craigslist or Facebook you can find them on there. Please like and SUBSCRIBE. Thank You
i have a baldor motor on my champion & i have had nothing but trouble with this compressor . 1st the pressure switch messed up in the 1st hour .2nd the after cooler started to leak after 6 hours of run time. now after 20 hours my motor just died not happy out of warrenty total BS for what you pay for these things
i thought i was buying american quality this thing looks brand new & has only been used by me in my home shop . i have had oilless craftsman compressors out last this one now i have to spend $400 on the motor.
How do I change the oil?
Hey does that compressor needs bleeding? I have the same one and I have water in my lines...
Mine has an automatic drain so it purges itself in the selected intervals so you don't have to do it manually. Thanks for watching, please like & sub.

Great idea on the trans cooler for cooling the air. Never thought about doing that. I might have to rig something up hmmm....

So tell me where in Kentucky the peddlers mall is that has air tanks? I like in Ky and am interested!
Jordan Mamrak It's in Elizabethtown ky
Hey thanks for the info I have a 5hp r15b on an 80 gallon tank as well. So far it's been great!
