I’m a Pole living in the UK for the last 20 years. I am however coming back home next year and honestly, I can’t wait! Poland has changed so much in recent years and in many aspects is more civilised and safe than a lot of Western Europe.
I am very excited for you actually. There’s so much for you to explore and fall in love with. Especially that you already feel attracted to the country.
What you see now is a country in a sort of winter hibernation. The real Poland will reveal itself to you in spring and summer.
    Happy discovering!

You should meet the girl from the channel "The Writing Traveler"; she is also Dutch and lives in Krakow. She walked along the seashore in winter.

It looks like we will have two Dutch channels on Polish RUclips that are very similar to each other. < Holenderka w Polsce > Nice!

Przy czasie rozglądnij się w internecie (YT) a trafisz na wielu Holendrów tu przebywających i mieszkających. Tu przybywają wartościowi ludzie a nie co tu dużo mówić zakamuflowani "rasiści". Pozdrawiam i witam w Polsce kolejnego Holendra. Jestem suskrybentem wszystkich mądrych i szczerych (tak sądzę) podróżników.

You have a valuable ability to live in the moment, which allows you to pay attention to details and engage in free-flowing reflection. Consequently, Lao Tzu's wisdom applies very well to you: "Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you."

In WW2, the Polish army fought for two weeks and then surrendered. How did they help your country?

Have you never heard of the bravery of the Polish Pilots who took part in the Battle of Britain? Or how the Polish Army was sent up Monte Cassino first, to bear the brunt of the German firepower, etc. etc.

Not two, but five weeks, and Poland never surrended - it was occupied for six years, but never surrended (like many other countries). Over a million Polish soldiers served almost on every battle fronts. Finally Poland lost, as it was sold to Stalin in 1945. It was just a good business. Just not for Poland.
