Lusting after this rig for going to Alaska. Took our 38’ Dutch Star and we were so limited in where we could go/camp. We love this Sprekko BECAUSE of the front seating area. Way more comfortable than the 2 car seats in the Ford, and it gives you another sleeping space. We also like that the driver and passenger seats don’t need booster cushions to be at the same level as the interior, unlike so many Class C’s. Glad you can delete the exterior awnings, but also wish you could delete the front tv.
I’d like to share a few comments as someone who bought this Sprinter EKKO model, often nicknamed, Sprekko, in March of this year. First, no one pays MSRP. Folks all worked up about the price can relax. Depending on your negotiation skills, you can get the price down well below MSRP (I did) and get alot of value (all season, AWD with plenty of ground clearance, solid lithium setup, and more). What I found disappointing in this video was Matt’s ignorance about this product. It’s a very niche and specialized RV. Matt is a generalist RV reviewer. It’s clear in this video he and Andrea really don’t know many of the features of the EKKO. They should have had a product specialist with them. And Matt, please cut down the use of hyperbole with titling your videos with “world premiere.” There are more quality in-depth reviews of the Sprinter EKKO that have been out since the Tampa RV show in January. I know you and Andrea can do better on these reviews because you usually do! Please consider bringing in a specialist next time!
Hi Matt and Andrea! My dislikes are the twistie ties on the storage doors and uncomfortable seating in front with dinette. My likes are storage outside. And the wet bath. Thank you Matt and Andrea!
good video. that price absolutely not. this is exactly why people are doing van builds themselves and they are amazing van builds for way way way way way way less.
I love everything about this unit, the extra bed length (better that transit), extra headroom, the bed that the 2nd row seating can be turned into, the air-mattress bed in the driver passenger area, the ground clearance (better than transit).... until you read about the nightmare difficult and backlog of getting the MB serviced. The Transit has service and easy fuel options when make the choice more difficult between the two versions of the EKKO.
I’m glad to finally see a twin beds model where the beds are long enough for a tall person, but hate the front seating area. It looks designed for carrying passengers legally. However, most buyers of this unit will be couples or solo travelers, who will give priority to a comfortable working & sitting space rather than the ability to carry a 3rd & 4th passenger. I’d only consider the unit if I concluded it was viable to rip out the front seating they have and build a comfortable desk space for work. The competitors to the ECKO models are much better designed for those working from the road.
How did you guys not pick the outside water connections being on the inside cabinet closed off and not just sticking randomly on the outside how did you guys not pick that? S one of your top picks!
Matt, you are slipping. Get any larger, you won't be able to fit into these class B POS's. This vehicle is $100k at best. Up 50, down 40 to make idiot buyers feel like it's a bargain...
Great video. I’m surprised like you are at the lack of thought put into that seating area up front. For $240K Winnebago needs better seating than that. Plus I don’t want a cassette toilet, I would rather have a composting toilet, is that an option? I’m 6’7” tall, would I fit in the bed in the back? I really enjoy your video’s, they’re fun and very informative. Thank you.
Matt, can you please do a review on the timberwolf ml16 towable or even the timberwolf 20 OG towable? I'd like to get your perspective on it. Looking into buying one either one
Matt and Andrea! Anothrr great video to go along with my dinner. Not this model...but how hard is it to change the full size fridge, as in getting it through the door?
OMG😂😂😂$242,000 for a tiny Class C with “NO” comfortable place to sit😮a tiny unusable wet bath😢and an uncomfortable mattress to sleep on😬is a total dealbreaker☹️
A rig like this is not for luxury. It's for mobility and off roading capabilities to hard to get to boondocking places. If people want real comfort, buy a trailer/5th wheel/bus to park in an rv park or just stay home.
@@JoshuaMartian-go3tm There is absolutely no reason that an RV of this size can’t have a comfortable place to sit, a decent mattress and a usable bathroom, but as long as people keep settling for mediocrity manufacturers will gladly keep building them👍
@@stevez340 The Ekko does but I guess it's a matter of opinion. If one is looking for a full size recliner and full-size mattress maybe expecting to find one on a B, B+ or C is the problem. Just go for a bigger rig rather than these smaller ones that are made more for off roading. 😉👌
Like the storage for bikes, not a fan of cassette toilet or split bed. I like the euro features this one has is almost there. Put in on a gas chassis and we would be talking price is high though
You can literally buy a top of the line 1 ton truck, a short 5th wheel, and a slightly used corvette stingray and you will still be able to buy a Harley or a couple of top of the line E-mountain bikes. I want what they’re on.
I like the Ekko although obviously I would never pay over 100k for one. I like the use of utilitarian hardware instead of gaudy plated drawer pulls. It is a mobile living space, not a house. I also like the plain grey surfaces instead of fake wood grain. The bedroom windows could be smaller, what are you looking at outside when you sleep anyway. The only thing that would make this 100 percent perfect would be ditch the propane and use a diesel heater.
My dislikes, the matte finish on the cabinets. You can already see fingerprints and smudges. And the new flooring Winnebago is using. I can't imagine what it'll look like with muddy days or animals. Agree with Andrea, the front living area seems like wasted opportunity.
That was a tad pricey 😳 US$243,00 (frantically converting to AUD… $369,000! Ahhhh yeahh, pro bab ly not 🤷🏼♀️) but i will enjoy looking at it! I love those swinging door hidden showers. Such a good use of space! I agree with the lack of over the bed storage. I guess thats one way not to take too much junk along. I also like the split cover over the sink. You can cut up your cake & fill the jug at the same time. I liked the cupboard locks, keeps everything shut on rough roads. Didn’t like the interior cupboard finishes, looked a bit low budget. Especially at that price.
Matt and Andrea clearly did not understand this right at all… even missed the built in generator compartment! Had no idea what the pump was for. As for “prime popping position”, really!!! Oh and he complained about the “twisty” exterior door locks. They are “cam” locks, the extra twist sucks the door in tight to improve the door seal, think 4-season, dust, rain prevention.
Wow love the design, but the uncomfortable front seating area is a big disappointment since it's the only seating available. The biggest negative though is clearly the insane price. $242k for this when it even has a casette toilet?? I think they'll have trouble selling these even at $99,995. Somethings not adding up if east to west mercedes can be sold for $99,999.
I like the unit, but $242K MSRP is outrageous. I bought a lake house for less $. Buy a class A or C instead and tow a small car - it would still be cheaper.
242? Nope. I like the shower tho. Seriously that’s a lot for a small unit. I like the entegra better and it’s almost affordable 😊 I am with Matt I want nice. Not durable.
If you were ever wondering how Winnebago was going to pay for all the scam design, flipper frame manufacturer, Clark Kent frame failures. All you have to do is watch this video for the price. It also appears what a video looks like that seems, a bit forced? They should be selling for $85,000 tops. Just a seat, this is not comfortable. the enthusiasm for a $242,000 is almost too funny.
@SonarTravels Matt came right out and said that the price reflects the limited availability and popularity. I don’t think he could have been more honest about that. I want to see all the products available whether Matt likes them or not.
Matt not one of your better videos. It really looked like you didn’t explore the unit beforehand and know all the mechanics of it. Do your homework a little bit more before the camera starts rolling. We still love you guys however. Winnebago in my opinion is asking way too much for this model.
Fugliest exterior paint choices ever. Cargo Carrying Capacity is atricious. I like my Cassette in the dash board ( Yes BOOMER). Wet baths don't whet my interest. None the less, I give it a grade of a B+...🤣 Y
I have no idea why anyone would buy this instead of one of the many small class C’s for under $120k. These units are for suckers that want to “carry around their poop”.
Over priced as usual. Hate no window in the door, n dinky freezer, n black hubcaps n on Mercedes chassis. Like the exterior storage, better exterior twisty knobs, and interior. 🍻
The Ford version is a MUCH better buy.

Agree Matt was reviewing this as a campground princess rig. I laughed at his remark about needing a Lazyboy (yeah, that might be needed for him lol)
Good presentation. Deal breaker with me would be that carpeting. It is an outdoor camper, that wont work.

Do you have a favorite model for working from the road?
Hey Matt, can you get Katie from Lippert to give a demonstration on their self leveling system.?😂
Thanks Matt and Andrea!
Cassette toilet is a no go. What happens if you serve beans with diner or Mexican food, that little tank would be full in an hour.
I just think Andrea looked fantastic! And Matt, you did a fantastic job of another great review.
Yet another great presentation sir! I look forward to buying one used five years from now for $30k
How did you guys not pick the outside water connections being on the inside cabinet closed off and not just sticking randomly on the outside how did you guys not pick that? S one of your top picks!
I miss the outdoor kitchen and I prefer the Transit chassis. I do like the new seating arrangement in the front.
Been following Dave and Tanya with their unit.
$242,000 Nope! Not even worth $90,000
Maybe 95 tops 😂
$242k lol. At 10% interest rates. They will sell 10s of them
True I could by a 5th wheel and the truck to tow it
I was gone say $90k Max… haha you only paying cuz it’s a Benz
That’s got to be a joke 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 😂😂😂😂
I like the Euro style and the rugged appearance. Storage is lacking - but what can you do. The toilet/ shower is way cool.
Do we still have to specify that vehicles have power windows and seats?
Matt, don't the beds lift up like the Ford version? That's where the rest of the storage is.
Liking all the new [subtle] edits guys, awesome teamwork! Blessings.
The Resurrection
I’m pretty sure that the seating up front does turn into a bed somehow. Would have been nice to have a bunk over the cabin.
That front turns into a twin bed.
Just buy a true class c.
@@turnbullstravels735 that’s what I figured!😊

Watch the Fit RV, who changed the fridge in their Transit Ekko.
More available Ford techs and facilities, correct?
OMG😂😂😂$242,000 for a tiny Class C with “NO” comfortable place to sit😮a tiny unusable wet bath😢and an uncomfortable mattress to sleep on😬is a total dealbreaker☹️

80” beds! Now we’re talking
My name is Andrea too so it's like you're talking to me!
I stood inside one at the Austin RV fest and wasn't impressed.
Looks like it was made in my driveway. But I like it, if it wasn't too expensive.
Like the wet bay
STILL has a cassette toilet??? BIG deal breaker.
All holding tanks cut into the carrying capacity limits which are always a pretty strict limitation on these van based chassis.
Beautiful dress, good taste.
Thank you 😊
Nice, especially the bath, but the price! 😵💫
