    WARINING! The companies that sell these send random polarities! Be sure to test the polarity of each post! If you want to swap bodies, you need to keep the polarities the same. I did not know this until I had already glued a set and ended up with 2 north and 2 south diagonally. Of course you can flip the body magnet as needed before gluing but you can not flip the post magnet because it is recessed on one side for the screw. Check before you glue and maintain a consistent polarity.

    Shoe-Goo will self-level when it is still wet. After putting more on the second day just lay the body upside down until it sets. I found this out when using shoe-goo to protect my short course bodies from tire ware-thru.

      For sure mate. Being such a "scale" looking body it just looked wrong with the body posts. If it wasn't bad enough having visible body posts, Tamiya decided they'd put them through the rear window. I was having none of that! 😁👍

  • @addiemonsterrc3990
    @addiemonsterrc3990 4 года назад +1

    Also just wanted to say that you mounted your body side magnets the same way I do. I use much larger and stronger magnets on my scale crawlers (big bodies with lots of heavy scale details all over them), and I can say I'm impressed how the polycarbonate paint holds up. The power of the magnets isn't enough to tear the paint off the bare lexan. These magnets, I know from past use, are not going to come loose from the body. The Shoe Goo does an awesome job and is SUPER strong. Way stronger than those magnets. The body will definitely pop off in an impact, though! But aside from crashes, it should hold just fine under normal running. It's not gonna fly off at full noise with Tamiya power.
    Beautiful VeeDub, by the way!

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  4 года назад +1

      I agree, I think it should hold up nicely. Like you said, it should pop of in an impact, not that I'm planning on an impact but it does happen. 😂. I'm confident it will be fine, I just like to warn people the paint could come off as there's so many variables in painting that could lead to the paint being the weak spot. So it's better for me to warn them rather the have a whole lot of people come back and comment "I did what you said and it pulled my paint off". For sure, it will be fine for running, that's why I did it. Oh yeah it will be fine with stock Tamiya power, which wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding. 😂👍

    • @RCHobbyShed

      Hi. The easiest way I've found is to position the magnetic mount beside the standard mount, with the top of the magnet beside the hole your body pin would be in on the standard mount. Then mark the hole where the magnetic mount will go, which will be 2-3 holes lower. Hope that makes sense. 👍
