Fertilizing our Scotch Bonnet Peppers Through our Irrigation System - Venturi System

- This has certainly been a big step for our farm. Before the installation of Irrigation System, we had to water manually and fertilize manually. Now we are able to do all that within a matter of minutes. A job that would take an entire day, now takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
Our Irrigation System consists of a 650 gallons tank to which our main lines are connected. from the main lines we take off our laterals which feeds our plants with water and fertilizer.
The Venturi System is a very effective and efficient way to feed liquid fertilizers to your plants. Be mindful that plants absorb fertilizer best when it is in its liquid form.

Very nicely explained. Good job
Glad it was helpful!
Please how do you install the drip irrigation system with filter and ventori fertilizer injector.
How acre of land is your 650 gal water tank used for???
Hi great video, is the system gravity fed?
Yes it is. And because we are in a slope, sometimes we have to control the pressure. Thanks for stopping by.
At 2 pounds per 5 gallon bucket plus 650 gallons how much fertilizer exactly per gallon in teaspoon or tablespoon
Hello how much does the whole irrigation cost
Sorry for taking so long to respond. Please check your most recent comments. Thanks much
Hi, how do you know how much fertilizer to water ratio to mix in the bucket?
The mixing ratio for water-soluble fertilizer can vary based on the specific product and the plants you're fertilizing. Typically, it's advised to follow the manufacturer's instructions on the fertilizer packaging. Common ratios range from 1 to 3 tablespoons of fertilizer per gallon of water. Always measure accurately and avoid over-fertilizing, as it can harm plants.
On #Lewisfamilyfarms we apply 3lbs per 100 gallon.
Hope this information is helpful to you. Blessings
Why'd you choose a fertilizer with a higher nitrogen value for your peppers during the flowering stage ??. At this stage your emphasis should be promoting flowering and fruit development. This can only be encouraged by introducing more phosphate. I'd love to visit your farm on my next visit to the Island.
First I must say I am really grateful for your comment. As I have always shared, I am a young farmer following a passion that I did not study for. I am only learning as I go along.
Now that I listen to what you have to say, it makes much sense. My farm is always open to you for a visit. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again for the information.

@@lewisfamilyfarms I'm almost sure that I have heard the name "LEWIS FAMILY FARMS " before,. If I am correct I got some scotch bonnet seeds with the same name on the packaging. "Am I correct "?.
Why dos it empty so quick if the idea is drip 3 hours daily.
The device allows you to adjust the rate at which you fertilize. I prefer to use the highest rate because I have a limited amount of water.
How can I get assistance to determine up a fertigation and irrigation system in mandeville
Hello. If you were not so far away I would definitely visit your farm and assist you. So if your local RADA extension officer is not equipped to assist then you could check with Isratech at the following website address. www.isratech.com/contact-us/
@@lewisfamilyfarms Thanks for your reply. I will definitely consult those resources.
I can’t get my injector to work
Have you gotten to work as yet? Sorry I missed your comment.
what size of your drip hose?
I use the 12mm with the drips at 1 foot apart.
@@lewisfamilyfarms wouldn't it be much more efficient to either plant at 1ft spacing to match your drip spacing or find drip line with drip spacing to match your plant spacing? I notice in your video that you're watering between the plants which seems wasteful.
