  • Waltraud Kieferndorf lives with her family in the small village "Kuckum" in North Rhine-Westphalia, at the edge of the surface mine Garzweiler II. Jointly with other villagers she founded the organization "Menschenrecht vor Bergrecht" (eng. human rights before mining law), to fight the plans of the state government and German energy company RWE, which intend to make her home part of the mining pit by the year 2027. 300 meters is partly the depth of the hole and 300 meters lay between the edge of the pit and the neighbouring village "Keyenberg".
Many thanks to Mrs Kieferndorf for letting us take part in her fight and for taking the time to talk about it with us!
Many thanks to Cedric Lauffer & Ben Pawils for the support at the whole film production!
