I have these setup and added a Monolith THX subwoofer they sound amazing together check my page will have much more content next weekend when I move into the new house
I loved the video, great production quality. I'm just wondering, you mentioned that they are $270, was that some nice sale or something? I'm just wondering because right now I see them going for around $400. Thanks!
These are exactly what I was lookin for inexpensive with a remote. Just got a new tv that has bluetooth. Bro bro...... thank you love the the words you say keep it up.
I bought these speakers and paired it with the Kanto sub 8---- The sub takes it to a whole different level. I'm a sound freak and I'm going to tell you these things are astounding to say the least. No distortion, Gorgeous sound stage and I like my music loud and these thing are loud with 0 distortion. I was going to go with audio engine as my buddy has them but decided to risk and go with the Kanto. Don't second guess if you can afford the $700-speakers and sub- they sound much richer than audio engine. In a nutshell- They are amazing!!!! I love the remote as I listen to all kinds of music and I like the subtle adjustments you can make. I subscribe to Tidal HD masters subscription- No this is not a tidal ad but let me tell you- SIMPLY PUT-THEY ARE FUCKINGAMAZING!!!!!!!! On a side note if you live in an apartment you will be evicted. they rock!
THATS AWESOME! NO PLUG HERE EITHER just a happy customer have the YU6 glossy whites and paired with a Monolith THX and it slammmmmmmmms! check my page have a video demo and will have more content next weekend when I move to my new home
I'm thinking of using this same setup for my high end gaming rig, do I need to amplify this setup somehow, or will it still work well with the PC on-board audio?
Hi miss your videos RUclips hasn’t been showing your videos on the home page had to look you up in the subscribed section. Hope your doing well. Keep up the great reviews!!
Hmmm... Small home theater setup. Should I go with these YU6 bookshelf speakers or a Samsung soundbar at the same price? I would be getting Kanto's matching sub. to go with the YU6 if I went with the YU6. The Samsung soundbar also includes its own, separate sub..
If 279$ is out of budget check out the Edifier R1280t or the Edifier R1700BT (has bluetooth) on Amazon! I got the R1700BT and they sound amazing! While also looking good :)
Not for professional mixing but perfect for playing from any platform. You would need a lot more $ and less bells and whistles (fewer electronics creating noises) to get a transparently true sound; but nowadays ppl hear their muisc through tin cans so these will be amazing to the untrained ear. But if you're a vinyl enthusiast you may want a cleaner singnal path to your ears. I'm buying these just for my tv/record unit. Have a seperate studio area for critical listening
Hey, I bought a pair of these speakers just today. I was a bit underwhelmed with how loud I thought they would be. Is there a decibel test or something I can use to prove they are under performing or working the way they should??
How are they both the same weight if only one has all the electronics inside? Anyone know how they compare to the A5+? Different price range but these are way newer and have an actual feature set.
Well he also said that the optic cable is included but it's not. Even if not too precise on the details, I like his enthusiasm . I'm on the fence over these or the Klipsch R15PM which is aesthetically, to me , more pleasing.
What would recommend as a headphone amp since there is none on these ? Tried Schiit Heresey but had issues with driving Bose Qc 35’s plus some hum not ground issue. Thanks
yep paper sucks lol I know yea you right that will last long time these are great ill get the white when I get bigger desk great video man fat thumbs up by the way I sub :) wow remote and standby great music o yea
Ouch I hope they sound much better in real then in your video. Otherwise it sounds like my 5 watt battery speaker for $15 from marks & spencer. :D Thanks for review.
electrofreak nl awful. I’m so regret. Try klipsch R-51M. Cheaper and maybe clear sounds. I don’t have them. But if I can choose again. I would try some others. Do more research.
Optical is hassle free. I have a usb dac/amp ( Micca Origen+ ) for my headphone and I use the preout with rca to go in my YU4. The usb of my computer add static noise. So, now optical is a no brainer for me.
Thanks guys. I got E-MU 0404(amp, A/D, D/A converters inside), Edifier R2800 and had faced with ASIO driver issues on my laptop (bsod appearing sometimes when i use optical cord Win10). As I understood there is no other way to control output source from emu and frequency of signal without ASIO drivers? Which one you are using in your case? Best Regards=)
Константин Носачов As I know, you can do optical or usb from a computer ( and bluetooth... ) You have issue in both case. I was using Asio driver for my dac but now use optical who use the built in realtek spdif out of my computer. So, spdif shouldn't cause issue especially blue screen... And for driver, you can try to reinstall them or maybe run without. I think you should still be able to do 24bit 96khz in windows or maybe you really need the driver.
same price as the Elac mini - but they are not a stereo pre & power amp for 280, just four bespoke drivers and crossover and box. By Jones, of course - presumably Elac already does something like this here? my bet the Elac price is way higher here in Canada than Mr Jones imagines ironically of all the brand names and acronyms ever, I think "Elac" sounds the worst
no no no no, chilax! for a gaming speaker yu6 at $270+ it's okay, now we just need that asus pg35vq to be open for sale to the public and pc gaming suweet.
Zach, with all due respect, this guy does not understand what he is talking about. And he's not a sound engineer to give such advice. Its not good speakers at all. just for games and crap studio.. so if u want answer ask a professional, not this guy.
Usually if you want to buy something, you are interested in the professional .. Who is this guy? If you are building a studio, then this is the most important thing which speakers will u buy.. it's a pity that this guy advises this shit. but I'm not surprised.
Do the speakers produce any white/static noise in playback mode? I just bought the YU4 and I can´t use them as near field desktop speakers (@2ft distance) due to the white noise. I wonder if the YU6 have the same problm.
Jan-Hendrik Tiedeböhl I own the YU4 placed at 4foot of each other. I have the Micca Origen+ dac/amp combo connected to my computer by usb. When my headphone are in the Micca, no problem, but when I switch to RCA connected to the Kanto I can hear buzzing and my mouse mouvement. But, bluetooth was fine and optical too. So, I was thinking it was one of the 2 products that have defect. But no, actually, it's the usb on my computer that is shit and transport buzz. I turned max volume on the YU4 with my Dac unplug and I was playing with the usb tips and it was doing buzz each time. So, it maybe your case too. So, maybe using the Audioquest Jitterbug may help or just simply go optical to see if that change.
Thanks for the info. In my case, the Yu4 have the noise on all audio sources. Even if no audio source is connected. It is also independent of the volume of the speakers. And the sound does not change. It is always the same constant static noise. It is a pair of powered speakers and most of them suffer from white / static noise. And if you place them on a shelf or next to the TV, this does not really matter, I think. But 2ft from your face on the destop, it's problematic. That's why I would like to know if the YU6 have the same problem or if they are more suitable for my desktop setup.
These are pretty solid speakers. But this is not an unbiased review there are plenty of negeatives that you failed to mention, that i have heard other reviewers talk about. You said they didnt pay you. But it sounds like they payed you lol. Do better next time
He didn't get paid but he differently got some Kanto benefits, no negatives about these speakers, whatever. Only one perfect thing on earth, pecan pie!
your comment totaly makes no sense, you know anything about speaker siz, sensitivity, freq range? 30W on midrange can sound louder than 100w across whole range, but sound quality would be shit
i dont understand the argument about Kevlar Driver but in any case Pros --- Easy Setup , general all around good basic level performer , Cons - Bass is lacking due to the size , it probably has Bass Boost turned on that you cant turn off , that makes them just speakers they cant be monitors , They are back ported so putting them close to the wall is a no no , lack of control over speaker , i dont see Balanced in's , AMP is in one speaker , making for a 2 completely different boxes , one is smaller and heavier the other is lighter and empty inside making resonant frequency's different for each , After all this , the guy will put them on his hard surface table so that they can ring , each with its own song since they are different in weight and cabinet size , but at least he uses them properly , as a PC speaker set because that is what it is . But aint 250$ a bit too much for simple PC speakers , its your call
Nice review but poor speaker sound recording quality compared to best in class youtubers (speaker toni, clavunetjunkie,...). I hope this to be taken as a constructive comment (go & buy a better microphone to record speakers sound).
Hope you have had a great weekend!!
Likewise Brother !
Thank you Henry..
I have these setup and added a Monolith THX subwoofer they sound amazing together check my page will have much more content next weekend when I move into the new house

These are exactly what I was lookin for inexpensive with a remote. Just got a new tv that has bluetooth. Bro bro...... thank you love the the words you say keep it up.
My friend got some of these and he loves them, I'm using their smaller yu2 speakers and I love them
These are currently on sale for cyber Monday, have been reading reviews deciding whether or not I should purchase. Perfect timing!
Might be an old video, but this is definitely still great quality. Thanks for the review. high energy, high information!
I love your reviews Elric brother.
Happy Holidays!
Nice! I love the tone of your reviews bro keep it up!
These YU6 look awesome. Great review!

I appreciate the Chris Cornell bit man.
I know I'm late to the party, but I just bought the YU4's and theyr'e GREAT! I would have bought the YU6's but they're too big for my desk.
‘Let’s face it. There are people out there collecting vinyl’
Yep we out there...huntin’
Hi miss your videos RUclips hasn’t been showing your videos on the home page had to look you up in the subscribed section. Hope your doing well. Keep up the great reviews!!
Glad I came across the video, liked and subbed!
You mention that you'll be throwing a woofer alongside these. Which sub do you recommend?
Monolith 10 check my page..... compliments the speakers :) deeeeeeeep lows
+ Tech of Tomorrow great video i appreciate your work
I'm happy with my 5.1 Canton speakers and my JBL active subwoofer. ;)
They do look bad ass. Plus nice n plain
Hmmm... Small home theater setup. Should I go with these YU6 bookshelf speakers or a Samsung soundbar at the same price? I would be getting Kanto's matching sub. to go with the YU6 if I went with the YU6. The Samsung soundbar also includes its own, separate sub..
kanto with the sub 8
Do you think it’s a good choice for Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO?
Also knowing you're a musician which sets you far apart from all the other tech tubers. Bring us more audio stuff
Man you always put some good beats in your videos, nice review and video, liked as always my friend.
Thank you bro
I own this speaker couple month, it so great
If 279$ is out of budget check out the Edifier R1280t or the Edifier R1700BT (has bluetooth) on Amazon!
I got the R1700BT and they sound amazing! While also looking good :)
Good one Elric. Once you recommend a product, its good to go!
I love these speakers, sound as good as my Yamaha studio monitors.
Is there big sound quality difference between this and YU2?
Not for professional mixing but perfect for playing from any platform. You would need a lot more $ and less bells and whistles (fewer electronics creating noises) to get a transparently true sound; but nowadays ppl hear their muisc through tin cans so these will be amazing to the untrained ear. Hello, I'm late to the party. looking to buy YU6 for my tv/android box. Do you recommend them?
Hey, I bought a pair of these speakers just today. I was a bit underwhelmed with how loud I thought they would be. Is there a decibel test or something I can use to prove they are under performing or working the way they should??
If you are running them through the computer check your settings, your audio volume may be low
Nice review I am actually in the market for small bookshelf speakers and a sub to go along for my PC
That's not an optical cable included - thats the speaker cable for hooking up RH speaker.
how about a sound test?
Question, realize it has a built in amp, would I be able to run a tube amp to a powered speaker still? Thanks for the help
So are these speakers good for computers?
how's the sound compared to audioengine a5+?
I hate it when people review things and they have no understanding of how it works
Heck yeah! Dream theater for the next speaker review?
Is this the matte black or gloss black model ?
nice speakers although I haven't long brought a pair of Yamaha HS8's
How are they both the same weight if only one has all the electronics inside?
Anyone know how they compare to the A5+? Different price range but these are way newer and have an actual feature set.
You're right they're not the same weight, I don't know why he put that in the video. They are better than the audioengine's.
Well he also said that the optic cable is included but it's not. Even if not too precise on the details, I like his enthusiasm . I'm on the fence over these or the Klipsch R15PM which is aesthetically, to me , more pleasing.

yep paper sucks lol I know yea you right that will last long time these are great ill get the white when I get bigger desk great video man fat thumbs up by the way I sub :) wow remote and standby great music o yea
What speaker stands work for these?
Good Review!
Ouch I hope they sound much better in real then in your video. Otherwise it sounds like my 5 watt battery speaker for $15 from marks & spencer. :D Thanks for review.
This speakers have a nice look and sounds great. Nice video Elric.
Without sub, are they still great?
electrofreak nl awful. I’m so regret. Try klipsch R-51M. Cheaper and maybe clear sounds. I don’t have them. But if I can choose again. I would try some others. Do more research.
Know how these compare to the wharfedale diamond 220?
Which kanto sub eould bee just as good as these speakers.
sub 8
Techsource?
where are they for 279.99???
Great review as always! But optical cable for this?=0
Depends on your need...
dual purpose as a kind of sound bar :D

Kanto or Fluance?
Can I use these on my computer?
yes
279? All the yu 6 on Amazon are over 400
damn do you still use the s5?
They look alot like Presonus Eris line - nearfield monitors
same price as the Elac mini - but they are not a stereo pre & power amp for 280, just four bespoke drivers and crossover and box. By Jones, of course - presumably Elac already does something like this here? my bet the Elac price is way higher here in Canada than Mr Jones imagines

Great
They’re not $279 anymore. Closer to $600.
Or you could just get the Swan M200MIII
thumbsUP!
no no no no, chilax! for a gaming speaker yu6 at $270+ it's okay, now we just need that asus pg35vq to be open for sale to the public and pc gaming suweet.
moseyo tam I have a older Asus they make great gaming monitors
Good for a studio setup?
Yes they are
NOOOOOO

200W Peak Power (100 Watts Total RMS) in specs naaaah man this means one speaker has 50 RMS i need atleas minimal 100 RMS for one speaker in my room.

Hey bro
Hello Calvin my man...
Was expecting someone to comment a Pokémon joke. Disappointed.
I'll probably leave this video unattended. its not a good choice lol.
TRY 390$ ON AMAZON USD OUCH
hair Air lol
i dont understand the argument about Kevlar Driver but in any case
Pros --- Easy Setup , general all around good basic level performer ,
Cons - Bass is lacking due to the size , it probably has Bass Boost turned on that you cant turn off , that makes them just speakers they cant be monitors , They are back ported so putting them close to the wall is a no no , lack of control over speaker , i dont see Balanced in's , AMP is in one speaker , making for a 2 completely different boxes , one is smaller and heavier the other is lighter and empty inside making resonant frequency's different for each ,

Designed in Canada. Made in China. Hence CaChiFi. LOL.
Low end is muddy and they sound boxxy as hell TBH
Johnny Utah it's because they were sitting on a desk. Also you need to hear them irl to get an accurate representation.
yeah, just 400$...
They are cool but I don t need them !
Another talk talk video
Y u 6 y not u 7
Fuuuuuuuuck...400 dollars?!?!?! If you got the cash and want to get the stash...they come in various colors...Loud enough to Rawk off your cawk lol
So much yelling
Nice review but poor speaker sound recording quality compared to best in class youtubers (speaker toni, clavunetjunkie,...). I hope this to be taken as a constructive comment (go & buy a better microphone to record speakers sound).
Swearing during reviews is crass and lame and juvenile.
These are nothing but overpriced bookshelf speakers and I'm not quite stupid enough to give for $500 for these but since you're so rich you give it
How would you compare these to the Fluance ai40?
The ai 40s are great, just a pleasure to listen too, but it doesnt have the optical input for running to tv.
But rca to optical adapters are cheap.
