@@chocolartmilk if you're looking for a good and cheap brush nibbed marker, Hobby Lobby recently came out with their own store brand brush markers (called Master's Touch markers). I tried them and they are AMAZING. Their brush nib is just as good as the Copic nib (I've tried both markers and can't feel a difference). The best part is that a pack of six is only $20. And if you use the 40% off coupon from the Hobby Lobby app, a six pack is only $12. It's amazing! I HIGHLY recommend them. I've tried a LOT of different marker brands, and these are definitely my all-time favorite marker! ❤️

They generally sell them open stock. You can download the apps for those stores to your phone or go to the website to get the 40% off coupon. Sometimes Michael's has a fifty% off coupon. It is a slow way to collect, but it is easier on the budget.

Could I just mention that I am so impressed with PJ's editing lately? I know the content of the video matters the most, but damn, PJ just makes the whole video come together so SO well! All the edits fit so well with the music, and especially in how he used the "glitchy" effects in the timelapse portion of this video as it goes with the whole Into the Spiderverse theme. Just wanted to say something as I've been noticing it more and more =D Well done PJ!

Lydia Turner yes bc with the method he used, you get a very grey, cool tone. there are darker skinned people with warm undertones, and even that is hard to encompass with one or two brown markers

I’m not the most artistic person, and I’m not the most knowledgeable about art. But I know that 12 markers and blending them would be much more simple for me to understand, rather than 200+ different coloured markers. Proud of you for making something great, Jazza! 😀

I really love this idea! I think it’s good for people who really want to start off with good art supplies, not as much for those who are building up their supply with other things like coloured pencils. For example I really really would like the 12 marker set on its own as you’ve demonstrated its sheer worth for the smaller number as a set :)
This is one of the major things I have always enjoyed about traditional art and not having every pen colour. Blending different pens to get different shades. I remember when I first discovered how awesomely grey can be used for shading so many colours :D.

@@Alex_Lov3 Strictly speaking there is no reason you can't refill them with Copic ink. It is just alcohol based ink, as long as you get the right color the brand shouldn't matter. Except that Copic is much more expensive.

Thank you for the tutorial at the beginning. While it isn't the most fun to watch (i would imagine especially for people who already know how to do this), but for me it makes the idea if blending an mixing colors seem more achievable than if you had simply shown it while creating a piece.
Totally cool how you can blend the markers like watercolour, but now you’re going to be using SO much ink. Like when you “blend and blend and blend” that is pouring ink onto one small spot and then your markers will last a fraction of the time
There's that and the result looks pretty bad and splotchy whenever trying to lighten a color.
Ray Drolet they are refillable though so it entirely depends on your budget whether you want to buy refills of the colours you mix and blend or buy the whole set and replace as required.
It’s never going to be super cheap if you want top quality materials - although he did a video a while back on TouchFive or TouchNew markers from ebay and they held up surprisingly well.
Buuut you don't have to spend 500 at once.

well... my dude... i'm sorry to tell you this but alcohol markers are expencive either way.. wether you buy all the colours or you blend... if you want instant non blend needed markers either spend 1000$ on copics or even spectrums, or WORK FOR YOUR COLOURS
I used to be on the Spectrum Noir design team and one of the issues I had with the illustrator pens was the nibs..... (the other being I was allergic to something in the plastic barrel of the pens!) I’m so glad they have finally listened and addressed the problem. This is a great video on what the pens are capable of at a much more affordable price.......... although I’m a copic user! Xx

Some have 2 black cartridges. One big one used when greyscale printing and one black one it uses with colour (because that sells more cardridges).

The majority of Jazza’s subscribers are in the USA. Sucks for us Aussies, but it makes sense for Jazza to go with an American company to produce and distribute the boxes.
(Did I mention that it sucks for us though? I would have loved to see an Aussie group buy-in option. The conversion from USD to AUD is rough, and with international postage costs slapped on top, it becomes out of reach for a lot of people.)

After blending all those colours to make a dark brown, you're gonna run out of ink. May as well just invest in an actual dark brown!
Yeah kind of how I felt about that too a plus if you're coloring a small area how hard and annoying would it be to mix all those together.
Indeed, but I get his point about color blend. I mean, I have a bunch of markers and it took me time to figure out how to blend them correctly. I have a biggest choice of colors but still I can't have all the colors, and I think it's great to demonstrate how you can achieve new colors with a limited choice. I think that can help people to just work more on their colors. And if you see you always use the same mix colors to achieve the same tone, you can then buy the tone you need :)

There are still many colors that would be incredibly difficult. my favorite markers are the really pale pastels. Using so much blender to dilute them just leaves it looking too blotchy.
You can’t have everything with 12 markers, even if you can do a lot.
I truly don’t see it said enough. You are an incredible artist. I haven’t drawn in years and watching these videos has made me feel so inclined to draw again I bought a whole set of sketching materials
I have to say I really appreciate the thought of mixing colors that went into this. I think learning to mix and blend colors is one of the most important skills to have as an artist, I don't think you need many colors at all. honestly its one of those times where less is more. one way or another you'll have to blend and learn to "control" the colors if you aspire to be able to make *any* color you want.

@@martingaens2073 to be fair, you say that like $99 is expensive for hobbyist stuff like this. Markers are expensive because of the brand and niche market, you can also do pretty well for yourself with a $20 box of crayola but the marker quality and ink aren't going to last you long and by your fifth colored piece you're looking at $100 worth of crayola markers, not to mention the smearing and cost of a cover layer to prevent the colors from fading and coming off.
Dont ever forget that no matter how interesting you find this content this channel is a business not a friend. So let's all grow up and learn to accept that the dude has gotta pay the bills this way and commercials will happen.

thedarkness125 or, instead of spending the ridiculous amount even on off brand alcohol markers (which you can find for 50c a marker) just go to watercolor, which is exactly what alcohol markers are attempting to emulate in the first place.
Sumaya Osman they don't handle the same, obviously. But the intention in creating alcohol markers was to create an easier to use watercolor. The effect is very similar to watercolor.

How guys can’t believe so many people love my idea. I got my idea from theta show here in Australia called Lego masters
Now use just 3 markers! At my last job, I had to listen to a lot of phone recordings and would get very bored at my desk. So I started to do one of those meditation coloring books and was told by my boss "art supplies" weren't allowed because it looked unprofessional. However, we were allowed to use office supplies we bought ourselves however we wanted, including for doodles. I would sketch out designs on scrap office paper and use my highlighters to color them but I only had the 3 primary colors for highlighters: Yellow, pink, and blue. Because the highlighter colors are closer to MYC than RYB, I would get some awesome shade variety and blow people's minds.
You’re very good at drawing but I found the information about blending so fascinating and useful. I’m hoping to find more of this in your other videos. I’m binge watching every episode while I’m off sick for 2 weeks. Got to follow my fellow Australians . 👍
