    Caraxes, Daemon’s mount
    Syrax, Rhaenyra’s mount
    Vermax, Jace’s mount
    Moondancer, Baela’s mount
    Meleys, Rhaenys’s mount
    Sunfyre, Aegon’s mount
    Vhagar, Aemond’s mount
Dreamfyre, Helaena’s mount (but she doesn’t ride)
Tessarion, Daeron’s mount (Alicent’s youngest son)
On Dragonstone we have some unclaimed dragons:
    Seasmoke (used to be Laenor’s)
    Vermithor
    Silverwing
    Two wild dragons:
    Cannibal
    Sheepstealer
Stormcloud and Tyraxes are baby dragons that belong to 2 of Rhaenyra’s youngest sons

Harrenhal is a haunted castle. It was the place in the pilot episode where they showed King Jaeherys, the Concilliator, making Viserys Targaryen the heir or next king before he passed.
It's also the same place where Jace's and Luke's father, Hardwin Strong and his father were killed by Larys Strong by fire.
I think the weirwood trees are part of why it's haunted too.

i think in the first season, they point out the place was cursed from the first stone laid, probably because it has a strong tie to the spirits and the weirwood trees and such, so it's not haunted exactly, more of a spiritual conduit, or place of power

@@DynomitePunch it’s haunted bc of the atrocities committed on holy land. Much like the indigenous burial ground trope in scary stories.

Harrenhall is considered cursed. It was built by slave labor by Harren the Black whi mixed their blood into the mortar. The castle took 40 years to build, and was completed on the day Aegon and his sisters arrived in Westeros.
When Aegon came to claim the castle, Harren laughed at him and said stone didn't burn. He, his family, and all the servants hid inside. Aegon had Balerion breathe fire all over it, cooking everyone inside.
Anyone who ever gets custody of Harrenhall usually dies horribly. It was a running joke on GoT. Because the place is in disrepair, the roots of the godswood have gotten into the castle.
The castle is next to a large lake called the God's Eye. In the lake is an island known as the Isle of Faces, where it's believed some of the few remaining children of the forest live (the original inhabitants of Westeros). So it's a spooky spot for multiple reasons.

Daemon's count is completely irrelevant at this point. First, he was counting a lot of unclaimed and even wild dragons for which riders would first need to be found. Second, Rhaenyra has some very young dragons barely of fighting size or not even that (and one of them already died with Luke).
At this particular moment the sides are actually quite evenly matched. Vhagar, Sunfyre and Tessarion for the Greens (Dreamfyre is unusable since Helaena essentially never rides). Syrax, Caraxes, Meleys, Vermax, Moondancer for the Blacks. With Vhagar being a megaton nuke, Tessarion and Vermax very young and Moondancer only just large enough to ride, it's very even.

Rhaenyra's disguise makes more sense when you think back to season 1 and the night she snuck out in boys' clothes for a night on the town with Daemon. You have to realize that most of the common people in the realm have NEVER seen her, except MAYBE from a distance in the jousting stadium (and remember they don't have binoculars). This is a place/setting where even art supplies are out of the reach of most commoners, so the idea that have even seen a painting of her is unlikely.
More likely that most people's idea of what Rhaenyra and any other members of the court look like goes back, again, to season 1 when she saw how she was depicted to the smallfolk in that play.
Honestly, since the guys in the family get to go out to the taverns (and the brothels) to drink and carouse and be seen, more of the smallfolk know what THEY look like, and have a lot less of idea of what the women in family look like. They know Rhaenyra has white hair and violet eyes, because all the Targaryens do. But if she throws on a septa's wimple (a nun's head covering) and keeps her eyes down, she can easily blend in. Not until she speaks with her proper grammar and posh court accent would anyone know any better.

The eggs that were sent with Rhaena to Pentose are the three dragons that Daenerys has in Game of Thrones. That’s not what happened in the books but the directors confirmed they changed this to connect the two shows.
Harrenhal (castle daemon went to) is historically haunted/cursed. It was destroyed by a dragon as soon as it was built.
Daemons dream (brought on by being in the cursed castle) was a reminder of the atrocities that he played a hand in committing during the Targaryen civil war. He wakes up by a Wierwood tree.
Wierwood Trees are sacred spaces where ancient magic still lingers. They're places of contemplation, connection with the Old Gods, and sometimes, eerie visions.

@@courtneylconover80 I say this as a book lover: The book is NOT canon. I’m sick of seeing this “argument.”
George R. R. Martin himself has said Blood and Fire is not an accurate account of what happened in The Dance. It is second/third/fourth hand knowledge written in the form of a history book (and of course textbooks and ancient historical tellings have NEVER been wrong 🙄) and is clearly told from a heavily biased “Team Green” authorship.
George has also given his thorough approval of the show.
Again, NONE of this is canon. Not the books, not the show. If you actually listened to George’s interviews as a supposed book lover, you would know that.
If you love the books and hate the show so much, why are you A. Watching the show and B. On a REACTION CHANNEL that is WATCHING THE SHOW?
I love the books and this universe but I’m embarrassed at this point to be associated with the “book nerds” who clearly haven’t paid attention to WHAT THE AUTHOR HIMSELF has said and the constant whining, bitching and complaining.
This show is phenomenal and I actually really like the different interpretation of certain events that the show-runners have decided upon. If it’s good enough for Mr. Martin, it’s good enough for me. Going on a rant because dragon Y laid Dany’s future eggs instead of Dragon X is such a STUPID and INCONSEQUENTIAL thing to throw a tantrum over. And frankly the decision actually makes more sense considering how the story turns out.

Contrary to Princess Rhaenys - I blame Criston Cole for everything. He encouraged the fighting of the young heirs in S1 that led to the loss of Aemond’s eye, which instigated the confrontation leading to the death of Luke; which triggered the retribution that resulted in the murder of an innocent child; which directed the foolish plan to take out Rhaenyra laying charge to the senseless death of Erryk and Arryk and subsequently produced the dismissal of the ,evil but wise, Hand of the King

So the breakup meant nothing to her as she always got her way). And then abandoning him when she was done taking her pleasures with him. So many ppl overlook this fact. He was truly an honorable man and knight until Rhaenys tempted him. And became very broken when she discarded him like a dress she no longer wanted to wear. Where the King begged them not to fight each other as he was dying. Criston Cole made a point of pitting the King & Alicent's 2 sons against their Valerian/Targarian cousins. Especially their half cousins (the 2 brunette boys who were really bastards as everyone in the court knew but didn't dare publicly accuse Rhaenys of). It's the reason why Aemon killed Lucius end S2. The problem I have with Rhaenyra going to KL is that she had no peace terms to offer. When you’re entering a negotiation for peace and you’ve already rejected peace terms from the greens, you should at least bring a counter offer. More importantly, it seems glaringly obvious at this point that war is inevitable, especially now that Aegon’s son is dead. If the Green Council didn’t care about whether Viserys wanted Aegon on the throne or not, why on earth would they care about it now when blood has already been shed? The only person who ever gave a crap about his dying words was Alicent, Aegon was going to be king with or without her cooperation.

As King Viserys said, "when dragons fought dragons, all the world came to ash" (referring Valyria) so yes, dragon war is one factor to the Targaryen decline. But another prominent one is actually that the Dragonpit exists where they are "housed". It is explained in lore that the Targaryen dragons required far more space and freedom than the pit gave them and the longer they stayed there the lesser they became. Less big, less fierce, physically underdeveloped in ways due to cramped accomodations so much so that it led to Tywin's famous line in GoT when Joffrey is worried about Dany's dragons. "When I was Hand of the King to your father's predecessor (mad king Aerys), the skulls of all the Targaryen dragons were kept in this room, the skull of the last of them was right here. Rhaenys is not saying that Rhaeneyra permitted the murder. She is saying the way other people see it, is that even if she didn’t know it happened, under her authority, meaning she is still liable, because she is responsible for the people who follow her.
Like how Alicent didn’t want or ask for luke to be killed, because it was done by her son, the black followers would say it was permitted by alicent.

@@AceroKarina228 well in the books it's never said explicitly so it's a bit of a debate, here it's what we know: the cannibal was already on Dragonstone when the first Targaryen arrived escaping from Valyria so about the age we can say he is older then Vagar so the oldest alive, we don't know if he is older even then Balerion so that's that for the age. We know that the size of dragons is influenced by three things and in order of importance we have: freedom, genetics (species, parents), diet (and obviously age) given this information and given that 1 the cannibal has never been tamed so he has always been free roaming, 2 he eats other dragons, 3 he was fierce enough to make the settlement of the first Targaryen in Dragonstone problematic, we can safely assume that he is bigger than Vagar, maybe bigger even than Balerion but that I'm less confident about. That is pretty much it, as I said it's never established clearly in the books so really I'm speculating but given the information that we can find that seems the most reasonable outcome. I really do hope that we get to see him and given the fact that the director said we will see 17 dragons we should see all the dragons in the list, however we must consider that we had Arrax that died but he counts and possibly a future dragon for Rhaena so actually we may have two dragons in the list that won't be seen.

Just to clarify, Alicent's misunderstanding of Viserys last words isn't what caused the war. The council were already going to push for Aegon to be king with or without Viserys' blessing. Alicent never had the power to stop all this, she is just deluding herself that she did. They didn't usurp the throne _because_ Alicent said Viserys changed his mind. Remember, in episode 9 last season, when she walked into the council room she found out that Otto and the others had been planning this for MONTHS without her knowledge. They were going to usurp the throne no matter what, and Otto even ordered the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard to take his knights to Dragonstone and kill her. He refused to break his oath and resigned on the spot (that's how Cole ended up with the job).
The only thing that saying "Viserys changed his mind" ACTUALLY changed was it gave the council's action more legitimacy and gave a few more Houses a better excuse for breaking their oaths. The rest folded under intimidation or they were imprisoned.
Alicent NEVER had the power to change this, and any influence she had over her sons or Cole is long gone.

Harrenhal was finished the day Aegon the First landed in Westeros to begin his conquest, and with Balerion the Black dread he burned it to command the submission of the Iron Islands who ruled over so much more territory than they do post-conquest. The castle is so huge that no lord has been able to inhabit the entirety of it, and no one can pay the servants to keep the place up to shape. At the time of HotD, four houses have held the castle, plus a Targaryen Princess. It isn’t a good place to live, but everyone knows it’s a good place to set up an army and a foothold in the Riverlands. It’s where Tywin set up his army for a bit in GoT, and it’s where the Great Councils that determined Viserys was heir to the iron thrones was held.
They show the castle in ruins simply hoping everyone knows the story already.

    - When Targaryens first overtook the Seven Kingdoms, the castle was burnt by dragonfire.
    - Season 1 ep 1 Viserys, Rhaenyra's dad, was voted to be the next king in the castle hall.
    - In season 1 Rhaenyra's lover Ser Strong was burned to death alongside his father. It was murder. The one behind it was his brother, Larys "The Footguy" Strong.
Harrenhall was visited multiple times in Game of Thrones, for example Arya hiding under Tywin Lannister's nose, and Jamie and Brienne fought a bear there.

Yes, Harrenhal was a big part of GoT and season 1 of HotD. In season 1 of HotD, it was where Larys Strong had his brother, Ser Harwin Strong (Jace, Luke and Joffrey's true father), and father and hand of the king, Lord Lionel Strong, burned to death as a "favor" to Allicent.
In GoT, it's where Arya, Gendry, and Hot Pie were taken after they taken by the Lannister army that was searching for Gendry, Robert's bastard. It was there that she met Jaqen Hagar (the faceless man) for the second time, and where she became a temporary cupbearer for Tywin Lannister.
Before the fire, the castle already still bore the scars of being burned by dragonfire during Aegon's conquest, and has been considered cursed ever since. No one holds the seat as lord for very long.

The Burning Mill cut scene was immaculate & got the point across about the brutality of war...Feast for Crows. It was also baiting & switching the audience for the actual battle next episode. GoT did it constantly in s2 before Blackwater. Overloading with battles takes away the novelty. Let the casuals who complained about it stick to their mindless action flicks. Meanwhile targ stans mad about Ulf & Baelon? Oh no, a royal prince sired a bastard & water is wet! Where did they think those dragonseeds came from? Look at the timeline even in the book & it's clear some rather recent Targaryen in KL was fooling around. Helaena's "I forgive you" is a prophetic present tense literary device. She's talking about something that hasn't happened yet...the window. Brilliant writing! Finally a depiction of Harrenhal that actually gives it the look & feel of a cursed, haunted castle. The weirdwood reaching out to the Isle of Faces, yearning for its kind, almost! Goomer Daemon's ideal vision of Rhaenyra being stuck at 15 year old. Scary. The "I swear to you on the memory of my mother" clapback is the best line of the series so far. And lastly, Rhaenyra is not whitewashed. Her treatment of Rhaena was a sign that Rhaenyra will ultimately be submerged by the system she's trying to change. She will leave everyone disillusioned, which is the point they're making about the immutability of autocracy. Rhaenyra's subtle selfishness & ego has been so beautifully characterized. Placing her sons & heirs above all, asking her own orphan step child to play surrogate, all in the place where said child lost her own mother. No remorse & a complete cognitive dissonance. Rhaenyra is such a triumph of adaptation I have so much faith they’re going to manage to successfully pull off her tragedy. She hypocritically outsources motherhood to Rhaena & assigns her that passive feminine role. As a character Rhaenyra is most fascinating when she's forced to navigate & perpetuate the gendered structures she despises & wishes she could transcend. Rhaena is clearly straining against the fact that if she has no dragon she is to be relegated to childcare while Baela gets at least some freedom (or the illusion of it). The show is giving Rhaena a nuanced dimension to be dissatisfied with this position (the book doesn't give her much of anything). Conflict is good! & Rhaenyra’s central conflict- that to gain & retain power within a violent system one must perpetuate those violences, no matter one’s honorable intentions- having its seeds sown here is just very smart writing.

As far as Harrenhal goes, It used to be one of the most protected and tallest structure known to the realm. It belonged to House Hoare who ruled the Riverlands.
Harren Hoare thought the walls of his castle could withstand any assault, but he did not realize that dragons could simply fly over them. In the Burning of Harrenhal, Aegon the Conqueror used his dragon Balerion to roast King Harren and all of his sons alive. Harrenhal was burned with dragonfire and left half-ruined.
After that, every house or person that’s been given ownership of Harrenhal has died or become extinct. Houses like Houses Towers, Harroway, Strong and Lothston we’re destroyed as well.. All of them, like the Hoares and Qoherys before them, died out, leading to the castle to be considered a cursed place. Even people who took camp there like Tywin Lannister and Peter Baelish who given its ownership for a brief time. Obviously they didn’t die just because of the curse or did they 👀
There are many stories about Harrenhal including the tale of Mad Lady Lothston, the flaming ghosts of Harren and his sons and of servants who go to sleep and are found turned to ashes the following day.

Baelon was known as the Spring Prince, and was very beloved. It was expected he would become king after Jahaerys. Unfortunately he died unexpectedly after complaining about about stitch in his side (appendicitis). Viserys and Daemon are his legitimate sons.

  • @sam_c95

You've seen Harrenhal before a few times. In HotD S1, it is where the very first scene is set, where Viserys is voted to be the next King instead of Rhaenys. it is also where Harwin Strong (Rhaenyra's lover/babydaddy) and Lyonel Strong (his father and Hand of the King to Viserys at the time) burnt to death on the order of greasy Larys Strong, the "Clubfoot".
We hear and see Harrenhal a lot in GoT as well - it is occupied by Gregor Clegane (the Mountain), then Tywin Lannister, then Robb Stark, then Roose Bolton, then Petyr Baelish (Littlefinger). Arya spends a lot of time there, it's where she meets Jaqen H'ghar the Faceless Man, and serves as Tywin's cupbearer
It looks as it does because Aegon the Conqueror and his dragon Balerion toasted it so hot that the stone melted. It's absurdly large as a castle too, meaning it's really difficult to maintain it and garrison it, which is why it looks empty and rundown still.

Rhaenyra has: Syrax, Caraxes(Daemon), Meleyes (Rahenys), Vermax (Jace), Moondancer (Baela), Tyraxies (Joffrey, but left to pentos) and Stormcloud (Rhaenyras and Daemons son Aegon, but also left to pentos) . Also Seasmoke (Leanors dragon), Vermitor (old kings dragon, now riderless) and Silverwing (old kings wifes dragon, now riderless) + in Dragonstone there are 3 wild dragons(Cannibal, Sheepstealer and Greyghost), that no one has ever ridden.
The Greens have: Vhagar( Aemond), Sunfyre (Aegon), Dreamfyre (Haelena) and Tessarion ( Daeron youngest son of Alicent and Viserys)
So in total there are 17 dragons and 4 eggs (maybe more eggs but that is all we know of)

I always felt like the show needed more parallels and focus on Rhaenyra and Aegon since the fight is truly between them, these siblings and finally this episode did that. Aegon chooses war and comments that "Dragonstone will think the same" but when the same thing is presented to Rhaenyra, she chooses to avoid the fighting cause of the destruction it will cause and comments that "The greens will make the same calculation". Then the parallel of them both naming a Master of Whisperers, Aegon names Larys, and Mysaria becomes part of Rhaenyra's court and offers information

There are around 21 Dragons in this story, but active and with riders at the moment of the episode the greens have Sunfire, Dreamfire ( I dont see Haelena riding to batle), Vhagar and Tessarion (it's still young). The Blacks have: Vermax, Caraxes, Meleys, Syrax and Moondancer. In Dragonstone they have Silverwing, Seasmoke, Vermithor, Sheepstealer, The Cannibal and Grey ghost (all without riders). The little sons of Rhaenyra have Tyraxes and Stormcloud (barely hatched).
The castle is Harrenhal, the largest and most important castle in the Riverlands, everybody wants it because it controls the midpoint of all roads in Westeros. But it's a ruin. And yes, it has a Weirwood tree as many castles.

Folks, there is a reason why at the beginning of the plot of Game of Thrones it is said that the last dragons died decades ago. Daenerys recieved 3 dragon eggs in Penthos after her wedding with Khal Drogo - these three eggs were the same ones Rhaenyra sent away to "secure the future" in case they all die. By the way: Do you remember princess Shireen Baratheon. She was always reading about the history of the Targaryens. She even quoted the "Dance of Dragons", the war between Rhaenyra and Aegon. She said "after that the Targaryens never really recovered". And there is another spoiler in Game of Thrones about that war when Jeoffrey was showing Margery the dragon skulls...but I am not going to spoiler that!! 😉😂

  • @hedinsee6830
    @hedinsee6830 3 месяца назад

Here is the list of dragons at this point.
Yes, Rhaenyra has a large *potential* advantage in dragons *if* riders can be found for a number of unclaimed dragons she has access to. At this moment though in terms of fighting strength the sides are rather evenly matched with Vhagar being the Greens' trump card.
A number of dragon eggs are knocking about for both sides at this point, but irrelevant for the current conflict.
    *GREENS:*
    - Vhagar - Aemond's. The largest and oldest living dragon, almost 180 years old. Huge, slow, but experienced and deadly.
    - Sunfyre - Aegon's. Splendid large, heavy beast. A young dragon in his prime, fearsome fighter.
    - Tessarion - Daeron's, Alicent youngest son residing in Oldtown. Splendid young cobalt dragon. Just reached fighting size, smallest of usable dragons for the Greens.
    - Dreamfyre - Helaena's. More than a 100 years old, large, strong. Helaena pretty much never rides, however, so Dreamfyre permanently resides in the Dragonpit.
    - Shrykos - late prince Jaehaerys's dragon (the one killed by Blood and Cheese). Barely more than a hatchling, cannot be ridden yet, resides in the Dragonpit.
    - Morghul - princess Jaehaera's, Helaena's daughter. Barely more than a hatchling, cannot be ridden, resides in the Dragonpit.
    *BLACKS:*
    - Syrax - Rhaenyra's. Large formidable dragon in her prime. Not experienced in battle, but a dangerous fighter.
    - Caraxes - Daemon's. Huge lean and dangerous, more than 60 years old. Very cunning and experienced in battle.
    - Meleys - Rhaenys's. Large splendid strong beast, more than 60 years old. During her prime one of the swiftest dragons alive, now grown lazy, but experienced and very dangerous when roused.
    - Vermax - Jacaerys's, Rhaenyra's eldest son. Young dragon just grown enough to be of fighting size.
    - Moondancer - Baela's. Young, small, barely grown enough for the girl to ride, very quick.
    - Tyraxes - Joffrey's, Rhaenyra's youngest "Velaryon" son. Very young, just large enough to ride, too small for battle. Sent with Joffrey to the Vale.
    - Stormcloud - Aegon the Younger's, Rhaenyra's and Daemon's little son. Barely more than a hatchling, sent with the kids to Pentos.
Unclaimed previously ridden dragons on Dragonstone, so assets for the Blacks if riders are found for them:
    - Vermithor - Old King Jaehaerys's steed. Huge old bronze beast, almost a 100 years old. Second largest living dragon after Vhagar. Giant fearsome beast. Resides on Dragonmount.
    - Silverwing - late queen Alysanne's dragon, the wife to the Old King Jaehaerys. Splendid silvery dragon, almost a 100 years old. Very large and experienced, relatively docile and friendly. Resides on Dragonmount.
    - Seasmoke - Laenor's dragon. Young, but of a decent fighting size, quick and nimble. A sticky case at this point since Laenor's status is unknown in the show (in the book he is quite dead). However, as Rhaenyra pointed out, disquieted of late which might indicate Laenor's demise. If so, can be claimed anew.
Wild dragons living on Dragonstone, so potential assets for the Blacks:
    - Sheepstealer. A wild dragon living on Dragonmount. Old and large. Never claimed.
    - Cannibal. A wild dragon famous for killing and eating other dragons. Extremely dangerous, never approached successfully by anyone.
    - Grey Ghost. A wild dragon, never approached, almost never seen, extremely elusive.

Harrenhal was the location where Arya was a cup bearer for Tywin Lanister in GoT. It's in ruin because Aegon the Conquer laid waste to it on Balerion the black dread a few generations before HotD. The great council they mentioned at the very start of season one was held in that enormous room you see Daemon staring at as he sneaks through. Weirwood trees are tied to the old gods and that mystic three eyed raven/children of the forest stuff. I think that's a pretty rough coverage on the things you were curious about. Hope it helps!

  • @KimM13744

The castle Daemon went to was Harrenhal. We saw it in season 1 when Viserys was chosen as King. Also when Lord Strong (Hand of the King after Otto) and his son (the father to Rhaenyra's sons) were burnt alive there in S1 as referenced in this episode.
And we saw it in Game of Thrones when Arya was Tywin Lannister's cup bearer.
Tywin explained the history of the castle as its Lord Harren The Black building it to withstand an attack from armies on the ground but when Aegon and his sisters came to conquer Westeros he burnt the castle from the sky and everyone inside burnt to death.
    The castle is now cursed.

Making a dragon count has a lot of nuance here, because of the massive difference in age, fighting experience and therefore effectiveness of said dragons and their riders in battle.
In terms of numbers, Blacks have the advantage: Rhaenyra rides Syrax, Daemon - Caraxes, originally ridden by Rhaenys' father Daeron the Daring, Rhaenys - Meleys, originally ridden by Daemon's and Viserys' mother Alyssa, Jace - Vermax, Baela - Moondancer, Joffrey has Tyraxes and Aegon has Stormcloud but they are too young to ride, that makes five. Additionally, the Black faction operates from Dragonstone where unclaimed dragons nest: mounts of old king Jaeharys and his wife - Vermithor and Silverwing - and Laenor's mount Seasmoke, as well as wild dragons Cannibal, Sheepstealer and Grey Ghost that were never claimed before and are completely untrained, and it's unknown exactly how many eggs their team has.
Team Green has Vhagar, originally ridden by queen Visenya, then Viserys' father Baelon, Laena Velaryon and now Aemond, Dreamfyre, an old dragon originally ridden by Rhaena Targaryen, one of Maegor's wives I believe, now claimed by Helaena but not ridden and secluded to the dragonpit, Sunfyre, Aegon's relatively young dragon, and Tessarion, the mount of youngest son Daeron, as well as possibly some eggs.
The nuance comes from the fact that a dragon's effectiveness here depends on size and therefore age, and experience of the rider and the dragon itself. By age, they can be listed in roughly this rising order: Stormcloud, Tyraxes, Moondancer, Vermax, Tessarion, Sunfyre, Syrax, Seasmoke, Meleys, Caraxes, Silverwing, Vermithor, Dreamfyre, Vhagar (it is unknown exactly how old the wild dragons are). And the scales do not seem to be in Blacks' favor as much now. Another issue of powerscaling this way is that while the age and size difference between, say, Syrax and Sunfyre is inconsequential, Vhagar is older than Dreamfyre by about half a century and is larger than most of team Black dragons combined, and Dreamfyre is much older and larger than Caraxes and Meleys too. That's why I mentioned the previous riders of the dragons: they belong to different generations.
When it comes to experience, Vhagar doesn't need explaining I think. Dreamfyre, however, despite age and size, is not noted for participating in much fighting, and Helaena is not a warrior herself. Sunfyre is supposedly trained, and Aegon probably too, but they don't have any fighting experience. Same goes for Jace and Vermax, Daeron and Tessarion, Baela and Moondancer, Rhaenyra and Syrax (with an additional note that we don't know if Rhaenyra had any combat training). Rhaenys and Meleys is a trickier situation - she's noted as a great rider, and Meleys is old and has a strong bond with her, but it's not clear if Meleys engaged in fighting, I need clarification on that. Caraxes, on the other hand, is likely the most battle-experienced dragon of team Black, participating in wars for Dorne when he was Daeron's and with Daemon in the Stepstones. When it comes to unclaimed dragons, Vermithor also participated in wars for Dorne, but Silverwing was likely never a battle mount, and Seasmoke we saw fight in the Stepstones. Wild dragons, are, well, wild.
So we roughly arrive at team Green having a single powerhouse in Vhagar with Sunfyre and Tessarion capable to support her, but Dreamfyre's position is uncertain, the powerhouse of team Black is currently Caraxes which is very unfortunate since he is off with Daemon doing his own thing, additionally Meleys supported by very young Vermax and Moondancer, potentially Syrax in the future. Team Black is clearly in trouble here if they don't draw the unclaimed dragons to their cause: Vermithor on his own would massively tip the scales (we saw him in s1e10), and with Silverwing being as old and large, if not as experienced in battle, they could gain an advantage on Vhagar even despite how massive she is. Seasmoke would definitely come in handy as well, and there are additional wild cards on the island. The problem here lies in finding riders to claim them.
And that's the end of dragon powerscaling tedtalk
