As the mom of 2 of those band kids, thank you for posting this! We had to leave early and we missed this part. We usually go down to where the band is to watch, but I heard people weren’t even able to make it there, so I’m glad you shared this!
I think the new direction the band and its director took in the past decade or so really modernized it. Kept some old and tradition, but really made it better overall.
