I would buy two and try one by itself and then try a second one coated around the "chamber" with a thick coat of JB Weld Original for reinforcement. I would bet the JB Weld version would hold together for sure.
Earned my sub. I would be more scared of a live shell somehow finding its way into the shotgun more than the less lethal itself no matter how much knowledge of firearms or my friends lol this is the ultimate trust fall in a way

@DeskPop Yeah, me too. I've been hit with .177 BB's, airsoft, and paintballs that were a bit too cold to break. And none of them left marks like that. I appreciate you and your team for doing this!

A consideration of the round coming apart as it left the barrel was the choke in the gun. I would guess you wouldnt want to use anything tighter than an improved choke.
I'll never understand why less-than-lethal is harder to obtain in some states than lethal ammunition. Time in the hurt locker is better than dead. Right?

25ft shot looks like a 300fps paint ball hit from the same distance… up close they will leave a monster whelt that sometimes breaks the skin and bleeds a little. So to me this is like, why not just use pepper balls in a paint ball marker with the gas cranked up a bit?

When does a "less lethal" device become" less liable" than a firearm? Example: Is using a cast iron fry pan ( or a 40 Joule paint marker with devastator rounds) for self/home defense "less liable" than using a firearm?
Let's ask the Federal Government who are drafting legislation to place these launchers under the same restrictions and restrictions as firearms because modders are amping the Joules up to the point that the launchers can't honestly be called Less Lethal.

No doubt there is a specific situation for the both of these applications....but how often do people, even police, use firearms in situations where taking someone's life was not at all called for? @@geoffreyd3186the factory made 40J HDX will be released sometime in the next few months. There are some people who have modded theirs to 40J, but it's apparently pretty hard to mod correctly.

@@DeskPop No. Airsoft can be higher than 1.7 joules. .68 cal paintball can be more like 12 joules. And they have projectiles like reball that doesn’t pop either. Sorry but it looks very similar.

If price is a factor for anyone contemplating this ammo. Just think about if you have to use lethal ammo from your 12 gauge on a bad guy in your house, you're probably going to be spending more than $40 on cleaning products. Plus you'll never get it all, you're dog will be sniff it out for months.

No; they’ve since updated their rounds to have a small spring that helps it blast open and have no issues.

You should try the umarex hdx 68. The thing could shoot 40j projectiles.
We tried the Umarex HDP50 and we’re not impressed.
Hdx68 is 16-24j based on adapter
