Cool video, this opens up a whole new world for Logitech. They are definitely gonna need to make more and possibly better rims. Out of curiosity, if you match the force feedback on the Logitech and dd1, does the Logitech have force feedback that feels similar than the dd1? I currently use a dd2 so that is my reference. Thanks

Yeah, also by then the price may drop a little as well. I think they will have a hard time selling it after the initial sales because is too expensive compared to rival offers.

I will agree with you on one point, it's overpriced. I don't see it as a toy though. For a SERIOUS sim racer this and the other similar products are very well received. For the average gamer though this is a ridiculous expenditure. Many people who buy these either don't have the skill (and never will) or don't use them enough to get their money's worth. Yeah, there's more force feedback, the feedback is arguably more accurate (if you're skilled enough to interpret that feedback), it's smoother, etc. but it very, very expensive for what your getting. At $600 to $800 it would still be expensive but a little bit easier to justify. That doesn't include the cost of the cockpit or PREMIUM wheel stand (standard wheel stands aren't made for this much torque). The ridiculous cost of additional wheels. You could buy a G920 or G29 for what one wheel costs.
I think they could do a version with less NM, maybe 800 instead of 1100, for few hundreds dollar less... this way they could attract more entry level buyers, obviously entry level for DD wheel

I'm now on my second wheel and base from Logitech. The customer service is awful and they really don't seem to care that they are sending out faulty products. The wheel will not calibrate itself properly and always sits just to the left. Logitech agree that this is wrong. After an hour or so the wheel will continually twitch, in race and on loading screens. When first turning on, all settings will be automatically maxed out and you have to change profiles to get it to change. Not an issue, until you have to continually restart due to the constant twitching. I've got all the test videos from myself and emails from Logitech. If enough people want to see them then I will upload it as a video.
I’ve been using a g29 for past 2 years and for the last year, I’ve been trying to decide between Logitech direct drive and Fanatec and I just can’t decide Fanatec looks way better, in terms of quality material and design and that makes me want to go that way, more but I’m in U.K. and I’m bit worried about spending up to £2000 on direct drive wheelbase, CSL elite wheel, a F1 wheel for about £450 and I think they called clubsport v3 pedals at about £400. I’ve heard few incidents where people have had problems and had a nightmare, getting a replacement. Where as Logitech direct drive looks horrible to me and over priced BUT it is direct drive, replacement wil be much faster and less stressful, many people including yourself, say the performance of Logitech pro direct drive, is really really good and as I’m only used to Logitech g29, I’m sure that I’ll love the feeling of the Logitech direct drive. I have the GTTrack and I'm waiting for the delivery of the Logitech Pro Racing Wheel. One question I have is about the mounting, were you able to bolt the Wheel base down using all 3 screws on the GTTrack plate?
I'm almost 50 and retired, I've been Sim racing for a very long time. I have several DD bases from fanatec, simucube, Logitech, moza and accuforce. The Logitech Pro is an excellent base it can be run at max FFB without running into clipping and finer details being lost due to FFB noise. The quick release is very clever and sturdy. TruForce has been implemented very well and do miss it on titles that don't support it or I'm using a base that dose not have it. I would highly recommend the Pro over the CSL/GT DD as that base dose run into clipping and the FFB becomes noisy at high settings. The only drawback with the Pro is the lack of extra rims, for me the FFB is on par the the alpha mini.
A very clear insight for me as I am comparing to get into my first DD. I live in Thailand and not much info is available for me to put a finger on for this wheel. Hopefully more reviewers can start giving me comparison reviews in the future.
Do you have also a DD1 or DD2 ? I have a DD1 and on the latest firmware, with the right settings I like a lot. So of all those DD's the best one should be Simucube Pro ?
@@AndreMiguelLopes69 I have from fanatec the DD1 podium and GT DD. From simucube I have the sport. There is not much between the sport and DD1, my 1st ever DD was the DD1 over 3 years ago and still prefer it. I don't know why, the FFB is good the firmware from about a year ago really made some positive changes in the FFB and I like the rims. I always end up back on the DD1, I like the quick access to the FFB settings on the base and everything is just familiar, I don't really think that the simucube is enough of an upgrade to justify it from the DD1, although I think when I get the new formula rim I'll swap back for a long time. If you don't have a large disposable income then I couldn't really justify it.
Exactly this. I've been simracing since the early days too and owned/tried enough DD wheels to feel qualified enough in my opinion. I've been using (and will continue to use) the G-Pro since launch. Yes, the looks are not to everyone's taste but the quality of the FF cannot be overstated. It may seem overpriced when compared to other entry level DD kit but that's not fair on the G Pro. It's incredible value when anything offering comparable detail is 2 or 3x more expensive. If having this level of performance at this price point means putting up with a bit of plastic (which is done very well to be fair) then I'll take it anyday.
I love them both, if the Logitech had a more choice of wheels it would probably get my vote, but I’d recommend you trying it to see if trueforce adds anything for you :)
Which of those 2, dd1 or logitech would you choose? I have a Csl elite and I am looking to make an upgrade to direct drive. My options are fanatec dd2 and simcube 2 pro. The problem with simcube are the wheels which are very expensive, overpriced in my opinion. I never tried a direct drive wheel to know the difference. The dd2 is now on 1200 euro, 100 more then logitech. What is your opinion? True force from logitech or more power from dd2? Which is more worth?
Ooft thats a tough one. I think the DD1s advantage is extra FFB headroom, but ultimately most people never ever use it anywhere near max strength, because its not realistic or fun. The logitech however I used at 10-11nm which is plenty enough power wise, and the trueforce adds another layer. I think it really depends if you believe in logitech going forward in delivering us more additions to the ecosystem, or whether you want to go with tried and tested :) I think the trueforce certainly adds another layer of immersion but id recommend trying it out maybe at a shop or something first to see if it adds anything for you :)
TCD buying wheelbases like it's no one's business. I'm glad you also were positive about the fact the wheelbase has a plastic cover instead of mocking or hating on it like a bunch of reviewers did
You know what, for ease of manufacture it makes sense, I think the money is in the hardware and software and if people can overlook the ‘it looks like a toy thing’ they’ll realise that this thing feels INCREDIBLE to use 😄 Thanks for the comment!
@@TheCarDoc1 True, but at this price point it's bad marketing. The simple fact that so many reviewers are saying it mirrors what many potential customers are thinking.
@@mpholicx2then potential consumers should talk to people who actually own one and use one often. i must say this bundle looks amazing. i have just bought my CSL DD but if i hadn't i'd definitely buy the Logitech G Pro. but from the CSL DD i think it is not enough of an upgrad to justify buying it. can't wait to see the new wheels. great video! ps: i know what you mean with the feel of the wheel. i had the g923 before and i wrapped it with bycicle tape because i've gotten blisters at my thumbs where the rubbed against the stitching.
Just ordered mine and the pedals too,you don't just get a base for 1k you get a desk clamp and the steering wheel too to buy Fanatec CSL DD 8nm,wheel a desk clamp and only 2 pedals is on par with this new Logitech price,i signed up for a promotion called Logidays got on their site(only place you can buy the G Pro) i paid total £1,212.48 that's base,3 pedals inc loadcell type system, wheel and desk clamp. Good review.
Thats the thing, seeing the actual value in it, which you have grasped. People need to appreciate the bigger picture and actually try the damn wheel out first before passing judgement! Thanks for watching, do stick around :)
@@TheCarDoc1 I forgot the Trueforce if developers take it on properly who knows what the future holds GL. Thanks for the comment! I’d say i’m 50:50 split on my use of them at the moment but I dont think my fanatec is better than the logitech just because it has 20nm. I think the logitech punches well above its weight and possibly pips the fanatec in FFB feel 😅
I'm stuck between this and Fanatic. Nicely edited video! Subscribed. If you pick up the pedals for highly interested to see your thoughts on that as well. Now if they just release a pro shift and pro handbrake to complete the package.
I was in the same situation. I looked at Fanatec but inventory, import fees, delivery charges and taxes put it out of reach for me. I bought the G Pro bundle that was offered. It was a lot cheaper. I really like the wheel/pedals. I gave my G29 to my son.
Despite the bad things people say about Logitech wheels, I personally feel this wheel from now till the next decade will still support anything and will probably get some updates down the road. I wouldn't mind the Fanatec but when it comes to compatibility I feel like after few yrs you are on your own with less support to move to the next product. More likely is going to be my next upgrade from G29.
@@talon1706 For US people having to pay delivery charges and import taxes to get something must be a big thing but i pay that for everything so this one isn't beter than Fanatec for me. Is more expensive actually.
The Logitech is guarantee to last and the device support is great I mean I just recently upgrade my g27 to g29 (haven’t arrived yet.) the g27 I managed to sell it for 180$ lol
crisp review, crisp content as always. but damn that price tag, from logitech, i know that it offers a comepetitive wheel level power but that much for wheel and base, and if you add their pedals too, you are looking at 2k price combo for just the basic set, at that level you start to compete with moza and fanatec, and if i am spending $2500 for premium hardware i would always go with fanatec or moza, slightly lesser power base, with 3-4 different wheel sets. but that quick release from logitech on this base is just wow and smooth af, will have to see what other wheels they offer and at what prices. but right now it is just way too damn expensive. and the import costs i will have to bear will be another thing to consider.
Thanks Hitesh I agree that essentially it does depend on a few factors and fanatec / moza are a win with the ecosystem, but when logitech steps it up a gear +/- Maybe reduces the price slightly they may get more love !
It’s 1500. You said 2k at first, already exaggerating, then went to 2500 at the end😂 it’s 1500 after taxes. Pedals wheel and wheelbase. There is no better setup for that price. And anything less doesn’t compare.
Lando Norris I liked but he's an arse , makes comments he shouldn't just because the person is better (racing is about best driver and car ) as for the wheel a bit expensive
The wheel looks like yet another toy when will they learn? Is it 280mm? I haven't looked up the specs of this thing but i can tell the wheel is just throw on as an afterthought with what they currently have just with a button box thrown onto it. Hopefully they will release some better wheels. Can't say i like the quick release they have gone with the pins could easily break and the standard set now by moza etc is a pinless design for this price i would of expected to see that.
Another DD wheel review. I respect it man, they are definitely not cheap. I can see you being a big name in the youtube sim racing/ review scene.

@@hughxthexhand Thank you for tell me your experience. I will stay with my DD1 and my 3 wheels. Just asking for other people exp.
What one do you prefer..? DD1 or Logitech?
I think it really depends if you believe in logitech going forward in delivering us more additions to the ecosystem, or whether you want to go with tried and tested :)
I think the trueforce certainly adds another layer of immersion but id recommend trying it out maybe at a shop or something first to see if it adds anything for you :)
@@TheCarDoc1 thank you for your opinion. You are doing great stuff and high quality videos. Hope you will get more subs, you deserve it🏎💨
TCD buying wheelbases like it's no one's business. I'm glad you also were positive about the fact the wheelbase has a plastic cover instead of mocking or hating on it like a bunch of reviewers did
You know what, for ease of manufacture it makes sense, I think the money is in the hardware and software and if people can overlook the ‘it looks like a toy thing’ they’ll realise that this thing feels INCREDIBLE to use 😄
Thanks for the comment!
@@TheCarDoc1 True, but at this price point it's bad marketing. The simple fact that so many reviewers are saying it mirrors what many potential customers are thinking.
@@mpholicx2then potential consumers should talk to people who actually own one and use one often. A lot of reviewers I’ve seen, excluding this guy, have no clue what they’re talking about, and are blatantly wrong about a lot of stuff with this setup. You will not find a better product for this price.
i must say this bundle looks amazing. i have just bought my CSL DD but if i hadn't i'd definitely buy the Logitech G Pro. but from the CSL DD i think it is not enough of an upgrad to justify buying it. can't wait to see the new wheels. great video!
ps: i know what you mean with the feel of the wheel. i had the g923 before and i wrapped it with bycicle tape because i've gotten blisters at my thumbs where the rubbed against the stitching.
Thanks for the comment Harald
You’ll have an equally great time with the CSL DD, I loved my one!
So instead of just wearing a pair of racing gloves you wrapped the wheel in bicycle tape? 🤣
I like the way you think.
how are the pedals?
Ive had my old Logitech Driving Force GT for years it's like new still and it's bullet proof and all plastic,i had one of the first force feedback PC wheels by Microsoft years ago plastic and bullet proof too,you cant chip paint off plastic so easy too it has none LOL.
Desk clamp for a DD wheel base, you're kidding right? What an utterly useless add in.
@@mpholicx2Your so wrong mine is solid on my desk for now and the near future the clamp just works and I am not joking have you tried it yourself ?
Wait for more owners reviews in the future it works well because it's heavy.
@@teggsy2165 No, I haven't and have no plans to do so. I don't like driving at a desk. Glad you're happy with it.
Thanks for the review! So, which setup is your go to now? Still the DD1?
Thanks for the comment!
I’d say i’m 50:50 split on my use of them at the moment but I dont think my fanatec is better than the logitech just because it has 20nm. I think the logitech punches well above its weight and possibly pips the fanatec in FFB feel 😅
But for realism and using a cool formula style wheel I enjoy using my fanatec
What gloves you use?
literally just gloves I had from last winter haha
crisp review, crisp content as always. but damn that price tag, from logitech, i know that it offers a comepetitive wheel level power but that much for wheel and base, and if you add their pedals too, you are looking at 2k price combo for just the basic set, at that level you start to compete with moza and fanatec, and if i am spending $2500 for premium hardware i would always go with fanatec or moza, slightly lesser power base, with 3-4 different wheel sets.
but that quick release from logitech on this base is just wow and smooth af, will have to see what other wheels they offer and at what prices. but right now it is just way too damn expensive. and the import costs i will have to bear will be another thing to consider.
Thanks Hitesh
I agree that essentially it does depend on a few factors and fanatec / moza are a win with the ecosystem, but when logitech steps it up a gear +/- Maybe reduces the price slightly they may get more love !
It’s 1500. You said 2k at first, already exaggerating, then went to 2500 at the end😂 it’s 1500 after taxes. Pedals wheel and wheelbase. There is no better setup for that price. And anything less doesn’t compare.
I like your energy, style and editing!
Thank you so much!! do stick around for more:)

A chunky boi is a good boi
Wiser words have never been said!
It looks so nice but 1k dollars?! Thats alot man i think im just going to keep my g920 lol
Lando Norris I liked but he's an arse , makes comments he shouldn't just because the person is better (racing is about best driver and car ) as for the wheel a bit expensive
Please stop with that annoying and distraction background music. I genuinely have a difficulty in listening to what the reviewer is trying to say.
Awesome video! Very informative! Keep them coming dude 💪💪💪
Cheers lad! More coming very soon!!
The wheel looks like yet another toy when will they learn? Is it 280mm? I haven't looked up the specs of this thing but i can tell the wheel is just throw on as an afterthought with what they currently have just with a button box thrown onto it. Hopefully they will release some better wheels. Can't say i like the quick release they have gone with the pins could
easily break and the standard set now by moza etc is a pinless design for this price i would of expected to see that.
ill be saving up for the next year :D
Its totally worth it 😀
